Then I finically got taken into the back, the nurse wanted to separate my kids in two different rooms because I was by myself and I guess wanted to make the appointment go by faster. But I told them no, because I didn't feel comfortable leaving my 2 year old with someone I didn't know. And then she said to me "Next time maybe bring someone with you." Which is insensitive comment to make when you see a mom of 2 trying to make it happen at a doctor's appointment instead of asking if I need any assistance. Janette was the only staff was really nice and tried helping during the chaos. Then the doctor came in, DR. SCOTT S. CALIG and wasn't friendly at all. Didn't ask 1 question about my kids (who are new patients) but asked "What's your concerns or issue with Vaccines" (because the nurse asked earlier if I was getting vaccines today and I said no) so I told him I just wanted to do more research with them before giving my daughter more. And he goes and on about how I need to get them and they are a must with kids and I am putting my kids In danger if I don't. This man was pretty much arguing with me because I asked for a list of vaccines my daughter was missing and he wouldn't provide it to me he said hename them off the top of his head. Smh. I've been to other pediatricians in California & Also in New Jersey and no one has ever been so unprofessional & Pushy. I normally wouldn't write reviews but the amount of anxiety and pressure I felt from this doctor was unreal. I strongly encourage parents who have a voice for their children and care about being heard. DO NOT see this doctor please.

And almost two and a half years later, through surgery, different diagnosis, Dr. Kalu has been a voice of expert reason in a way that supports our family in making decisions that are fully informed. I didn't even complain but I think she knew she was being a snarky because she offered a subtle apology -- saying she didn't want to leave a bad impression or something along those words. I just told her it was fine but after I left the appointment, I thought about it and realized I really didn't like the way my time there made me feel. Even my daughter noticed it. Even being in Healthcare I didn't realize my lack of self-care when Brandon mentioned "its been 5 years, no blood work". Brandon listened attentively while I expressed my health issues. I was impressed of his knowledge on Women's health and how I should proceed in keeping up with my well being. He was also quick to make sure I was aware of the good and the ugly lab results that followed through the next day. Brandon is a pro at what he does and it was such a pleasure to have met him. I have the utmost gratitude for Brandon and hope he continues to make an impact on others. Glad he joined team Northridge. Everyone is so friendly, especially Ellie and Natalie. Phone calls are always answered. They take some insurances and they have great appointment availability. Dr. Eric makes time to fully hear out any concerns I have. He follows up with any results I get. He puts a lot of effort into his clinic and his patients. He's just an amazing doctor overall. Dr. K diagnosed all of them quite handily. But what made him an outstanding doctor was the way he cared. The way he checked up on me periodically to see how I was doing, emails and such. Heck, he'd call me in the evening, after business hours, to go over some test result or another. He'd usually give me new advice on how to tame the demons of age. I often joked to my spouse that Dr. K was the nagging wife I never had before (but in a good way). I can only say glowing reviews about Dr. K. He's kind and knowledgeable and he cares. When I told him about my panic attacks, he told me to exercise and pray more. He mentioned the cross necklace I was wearing and asked me if my faith was superficial or deep. Such a joke. But now we're in a situation where if we had months prior seen a specialist, we would not need a cranial specialist and she would not need to wear a helmet. All things to this beautiful Doctor Who only cares about vaccines and does not care about children. He did not check her head properly. And she has moderate to severe issues with her head shape. And I was told multiple times don't worry she's fine, but he never once checked her pulse, her head or her figure. I had to argue with him to check my daughter. Fast-forward three months later after transitioning to another doctor , shortly after I changed doctors this new doctor caught it immediately. From the visit the same day. Horrible doctor highly recommend keep your children as far as possible away from this guy.
