The sweet and sour pork was 1cm by 1cm cubes of pork in breading and the breading was mush. Literal mush on my plate. Wet breading. Then the honey garlic veal was a huge chunk of meat and biting into it sent a huge gush of oil into my mouth. As I said, our entire order went straight into the garbage and ended up throwing a frozen meal into the oven.

My item was only 7 dollars and of very good quality and I recommend that you try this food establishment if you like Asian cuisine. I have tried Philippine food at a few spots and I like the cuisine. I ordered BBQ pork skewers, BBQ chicken, pancit canton, and fried lumps gulay. The owner also had us try a light dessert which was very tasty (I can't remember the name). Wow, the food was outstanding! The flavour profiles were all distinct and delicious. My friends who have never tried Philippine cuisine all loved it and were impressed. As well, the small trays had a large amount of food. Very good value for the dollar. The owners were very nice as it is a family business. As none of us knew the meaning of Kapampangan we googled it to discover that Pampanga is a province in the Philippines and is known as the "Culinary Capital of the Philippines". Not surprising with food this delicious. I would highly recommend trying their food as it adds to the rich mosaic of Winnipeg's culinary scene.

Nothing truly outstanding, though one of the most inexpensive Korean restaurants in town. Almost…read moreall items are under $10 and are quite filling when combined with side dishes. The only reason I frequent this place is because my wife loves their Soontofu Chigae (Sundubu Jjigae), a boiling hot and spicy tofu, veggie and seafood stew served in a small hotpot. I'd also recommend their Bibimbap, mixed rice dish with sauteed and seasoned vegetables, meat, raw egg and hot sauce. It's quite good. If you dislike spicy food, Korean cuisine might be a poor choice. Here in particular, there are very few dishes without chili powder in them. Some safer choices are noodle broths like Japchai and Mool Naengmyun or meat dishes like Beef Bulgogi and Pork Kalbikui. Most dishes come with white rice and four banchan items (Korean side dishes). Cold side dishes are typical to most Korean restaurants, here they consist of baechu kimchi (spicy pickled cabbage), seaweed with gochujang (chili pepper paste), kongnamul (boiled bean sprouts with sesame oil) and boiled potatoes in mildly spicy sauce. If you run out, just ask for more. Restaurant serves free plain warm tea or water with unlimited refills. At the end you will also get a complimentary parting drink, some sort of traditional herbal drink with ginger and cinnamon, served cold. The area this restaurant in is kind of sketchy, and the place is very easy to miss if you've never been here before. The space is small, but cozy, clean and neat. I would not use it for large groups, since most tables will sit two or four. Definitely not a romantic dinner destination. Best for quick lunch or dinner after work, or if you're eating out on a budget. Be aware that they accept only Visa, cash or debit. I was nearly stuck once, having MasterCard, Am-ex and $20 cash in my wallet and a $22 bill. Had to search my pockets for some loose change and couldn't leave a proper tip. In summary, Kimbaek is a nice, small, clean and simple family restaurant, with pretty decent food and low prices.

I had to add a lot of hot sauce. The best part of Korean food is the little side dishes they bring out with your meal....the offerings here were very underwhelming. All bets are now off!…read more Dad sold the place to a bunch of Koreans and the standards, service, quality has taken a HUGE nosedive. What particularly preturbs me is that there was no "Under New Management" sign or anything to let people know. We knew something was amiss when we walked in and found a whole bunch of pictures of kimchi-looking foods taped on the wall. Nevertheless, since we were seated and all, we decided to carry on with our dining experience. Big mistake. Most of the other diners -- Asians -- were ordering what looked to be noodles with various other things with them. It appears that they can cook this well, as the other diners were enjoying what they ordered. However, the burgers and fries we received were horrid, with the hamburgers being greasy, the fries kind of raw in the middle, and the gravy resembling wallpaper paste. Pass this place up and go to the Red Top instead. Your stomach will be glad.

Prices are very fair and similar to most sushi places for standard and specialty rolls. - shrimp tempura $8.95 - very lightly battered and not greasy at all - Spicy chopped scallop $5.95 - crazy roll (cucumber, spicy tuna, salmon, green onion and garlic) $12.95 - I would order this one again - good flavour but not really that spicy. - white dragon (cucumber, avocado, eel, green onion, deep fried shrimp, white tuna) $13.45 - this one was not a fave even though it's a popular roll. There was something in the flavour in the sauce that I didn't like. They serve a number of ramens here all made with pork broth but with various toppings and varying levels of spice for $12.95. They have Ramen Tuesdays where ramens go for $10.95. The bowls are big and have lots of broth; good to share if you want to eat other things as well. The ramen bowl is enough for one person but even though the bowl looks overwhelming it is doable unless you end up drinking all the broth. I tried the spicy chicken ramen which was essentially a fried chicken cutlet sliced up and placed in the spicy pork broth with ramen, half boiled egg and bean sprouts. The ramen was good, the chicken was a tad on the salty side and the broth wasn't as spicy as I expected. That being said, it's hard to find decent ramen places so I'd definitely come back for another bowls of ramen. Service was friendly and the restaurant was very clean and modern. This place is located in a new strip mall off Pembina just south of Pembina and Bison Drive.

I think, in order for you to…read morerate a sushi restaurant, you have to try the specials so my boyfriend and I got almost all the specials on the menu and I can say they're all pretty good. Among all the sushi places that I went to, Mooshiro has the most interesting tempura dipping sauce cause it was sweet and it really adds flavour to the shrimp tempura. I would say that it's really worth trying this restaurant. However, their service is pretty slow cause there's probably only three staffs working cause it's not busy. Also, it might not be busy for reasons such as its location, the restaurant sign which doesn't look appealing and noticeable, and it might have not been advertised too well? I didn't have any problem with the ambience of the restaurant because it's nothing like Naru Sushi in Osborne, which apparently is a busy sushi restau. I can say I'd go back here if I'm up for cheap but good sushi, only when I'm not feeling impatient and too hungry. And oh, AYC-eat dinner has a good variety. Try to check it out.

The standard price per person is 24.99 however it should be noted that ordering sashimi is limited to 10 pcs per person. I'm still in shock that this rule even exists as sashimi is the only way to truly "win" at an ayce. For most Winnipeg food enthusiasts, I'm sure they are unaware of how much money they're wasting but for myself, this was a huge disappointment. The service here was also dreadful. There was only 1 waitress handling everything at the front of the house including seating, cashing out customers, waiting on tables, prepping food in the back, etc. I could have easily gone to the washroom during each waiting period, taken a shit and returned to an empty table still waiting for food to arrive. As an example, I ordered chicken karrage on my first order of foods. About an hour later, I had asked another 4 times within that time and her response was "it's very busy". Eventually I did receive the chicken karrage. However, the karrage turned out to be chicken balls. Consequently, their authenticity points took a major hit. The quality of food overall was poor and there were only 2 chefs making sushi as a less than rapid pace. I'm still baffled how this place has a 4 star rating on Google.
