Not a $1,000 Backpack (Utility Backpack) I bought a briefcase from Killspencer about 5 years ago and the quality has apparently suffered since. Cutting off threads that get stuck in the zipper after owning it for a week. If you expect your Killspencer passport wallet to fit in the passport pocket of your utility backpack, think again. Zipper feels like a cheaper metal Front pocket closes with Velcro but good luck with the 2 snaps. read more

Customer support is pretty much non existent. They only care about buyers until the order is shipped -- after that good luck trying to get any help with the items you bought. I purchased a backpack from killspencer sometime ago and it started to break. That situation alone was already unpleasant given the price they charge for the items. So I found this section on the website where repair requests could be submitted. I've tried using that as well as direct emails multiple times. Not a single response was received. read more

I had a work trip coming up and emailed customer service to see if they'd be able to get me the Special Ops backpack in time. The customer service rep offered to drive the bag across Los Angeles for me so that we wouldn't risk shipping delays or high shipping costs - she delivered it in a 30 minute window to make things even easier for me and made the whole experience incredible. I'm loving the bag, too. The quality is off-the-charts good and I can't wait to really wear it in and take it on lots of adventures. Awesome products, insane customer service, and a local business? I ordered and received my leather rucksack last week and just took it on a trip to Paris today. It is officially my favorite backpack/briefcase! It looks and packs so much better in person than I expected. Really well made, great zippers and a brilliant design. It works especially well with the alcantara packing cube Killspencer makes. I fly over 300,000 miles a year and need gear that works, holds up and looks great. Killspencer never lets me down. I love your brand and you keep coming out with great gear. I got your utility special ops backpack for work and I love it because I can fit my laptop, wires, chargers, keyboard, etc which I need to bring with me everyday. I still have room for all the rest of my gear and books. While all that stuff can get heavy, Special ops backpack has steadily withstood the weight. I also love how nice it looks! The beautiful leather and craftsmanship absolutely stands out from other backpacks I see. I scheduled an appointment at the Atwater HQ to review my options since I wasn't sure which backpack would work best for me. The entire process was thrilling and exciting. The staff was very friendly and accommodating which was refreshing. It was super cool to have Spencer explain how the special ops backpack was designed and engineered, and to see the artists at work creating it. I even had it monogrammed with my initials while I was hanging out discussing our projects! I have the M-11 Black Bullhide Tote/Backpack. Even after months of use, this bag consistently leaves black smudges on all of my light garments wherever it rubs. When carrying it as a backpack after just 30 minutes of walking, even indoors, there are large dark black smudges across the back or my light shirt. When used as a tote, my light colored pants are smudged black wherever the tote touches. Killspencer customer care responded that this is to be expected with their product. The design is great, but at this price point, I would expect the leather to be colorfast and not ruin clothing that rubs against it in normal intended use. I cannot recommend Killspencer leather items unless you are planning to use them as a museum piece, and not allow them to touch any other surface. read more

One of my favorite brands. The style, service, craftsmanship, and vision of the brand is something I continually admire and keep tabs on. I own four different products (got lucky on snagging the last messenger bag available), and I use each of these products on the daily. My charcoal weekender is a pleasure to look at and use when I travel. The messenger is simple, timeless, and rugged, for when I'm out on business. The accessories and custom-ordered pouch are the cherry on top for staying stylish and light on the go. Worst quality of leather and it started to scratch within a few weeks. I feel like they're using fake leather. I bought a utility backpack btw. OH WAIT, THEY DON'T DO RETURNS ON DISCOUNTED ITEMS. WTF. I emailed the customer service and worse service ever. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. Worst quality of leather and expensive ass crap. BUYERS BEWARE. IF YOU USE A COUPON CODE THAT'S CONSIDERED A FINAL SALE. Since they don't do final refunds on "FINAL SALE". What a load of crap. My hubby was in search of a leather messenger bag, and after doing a quick yelp search we decided to check out KILLSPENCER. What a waste of time. For starters, we stopped by around noon on a Saturday. The sign clearly stated that they opened at 11; however, the store was very much closed. Seeing someone sitting at one of the sewing stations, we knocked on the window. The guy didn't even so much as turn to look our way. Taking into consideration that the guy may have been a worker and didn't necessarily manage the storefront, we decided to call the shop. Nothing. Apparently KILLSPENCER did not want our business that day. A sign indicating that it was closed or whatever would have been nice. Meh. read more

I spent a couple of weeks researching a new briefcase for work and, after seeing the Killspencer Attache Briefcase show up in a variety of briefcase ranking columns (yes, there is such a thing), I decided to take the plunge and order one. I could not be happier with my selection. I get at least one compliment a day on my briefcase on my walk to/from work. You can actually "feel" the quality and workmanship that goes into the bag. The bag is plenty big to fit a 13 inch MacBook along with a couple other items (notebook, charging cables, etc). The bag has a very streamlined look and really feel great in your hand (very comfortable to hold) Customer support was very helpful and the item was shipped in a well packed box with a handwritten note signed by every employee at the company (nice touch). Before I purchased this bag I had never even heard of Killspencer. Now it is going to be my first stop whenever I need leather goods. Highly recommended! read more

Dropped few thous with them. When it came for a time to resolve an issue with a product of theirs, they completely backed out with ZERO service. Been taking my business elsewhere to companies like Hard Graft, Bleu De Chauffe, Etwas,.. since then. Bought their $900 Utility backpack, only to find later that they use the cheap chrome tanned leather instead of higher quality vegetable tanned leather that normally comes from their competitors at that price range. Great company. They make some of the best iPhone products out there. They are head and shoulders above other companies. Their card carrier iphone cases are sleek and functional, and they use great materials. They even include an wood insert that functions as a card place-holder and as a screen cleaner. Many people have asked me where I got my case since I started using it. If you take your time applying it, it looks and works amazingly. Additionally, their customer service is great. My case showed some signs of wear, and they immediately sent me a replacement. Great experience over all. I have not seen products like theirs in any other stores or sites. read more

I got in touch with the company and received a quote to have it custom made, it was about $75 which I thought was quite reasonable. The bag was made in about 2 weeks and shipped internationally. One of my favorite brands / designers out there. Spencer is a super creative, inspired, thorough and intelligent guy. I not only own a backpack & briefcase which are of exceptional quality but I've also had a couple guitar straps made that are better than anything else out there. Highest quality, softest leather, and great price point especially for it being made right in the store in Los Angeles. Couldn't recommend these products higher.
