We just came to eat as we were passing through but the wife had a burger that she said was the best she had on our entire trip out west and I had the French Dip which was very good. OK, while on a driving trip through the area, I was expecting a fantastic meal here with my husband. Not so much! My brisket dip sandwich was NOT fork-tender. It was just OK. My husband had that concoction with beef tips and some sort of sauce that he really thought was weird. It seemed to have milk curds in it, but I think it was blue cheese. Great but not good on busy nights -but, this is understandable on a busy night. That being said, when one orders a 15 dollar burger and receives something far below par-so far below that only one fourth of the burger was eaten it is not ok. This happens, but when I related this to the wait staff they apologized- but I was shocked to see the $15 burger still on the bill. We stopped in here for a beer. They have a great selection (draft and bottle), and they just put in a whole new set of taps for an even bigger draft selection. The owner is VERY knowledgeable about all kinds of beer, and seems committed to keeping great new beers on tap. Best restaurant I've been to in a long time. Had problems at another restaurant in Spearfish, called Killians and even though they were about to close,the hostess said to come on down and they'd stay open for us. TJ, our waiter was great and also very helpful with things to do while we were in town. The food was to die for. A fillet mignon that melts in your mouth, bacon mac and cheese like none other, an awesome cheeseburger, and corned beef that was so flavorful and tender. Fantastic. Best word to describe it all. Promptly seated when we arrived. Excellent drink menu and a wide variety of craft beers on tap. Our waitress (Michelle) knew the beers and helped us with beer and dinner selections. They were willing to make substutions for ingredients my wife did not like. Restaurant was steady busy and the plates coming out were loaded up with very interesting dishes. I had a spicy burger and my better half had the Greek pasta with chicken instead of Ahi Tuna. Burger was hand packed and just a touch of pink. Perfect! The home made pickled jalapeños were slammin. The fries stole the show. Double cooked big chunks of sea salt. The sign out front was right, best burgers in town. The pasta was creamy with lots of olives, spinach, feta and big strips of grilled chicken. I had to try and it was top notch as well. I took some clients to this spot last week for a large group dinner. Killians did not disappoint. I had the pork that was simply amazing! The balsamic salad dressing surprisingly was a show stopper.
