The City of Killeen, Texas is basically a parasite on the outskirts of Ft. Hood, a large Army Base. It was my base of operations from the age of 15 -17. I am a full-fledged military brat. Killeen High School was 80+% Army Brats at the time. I was one of them. I graduated from KHS at 17 and left central Texas for good. Killeen is a centrally located small town that, when you are ready to leave, it takes a full day of driving to get out of Texas - no matter what direction you go! A good school to be FROM. Good memories! Lots of good stories to tell! I was a Fighting KANGAROO! Not many folks can say that! (Not sure many would have the guts to put it in writing!) GO ROOS! I love the time I spent there. I don't play with my children's education or well being period. But a lot of students here have a lot of touching others problems. Bullying, putting hands on other students ( unwanted uninvited touching and Sexual assault apparently isn't taken seriously either. I have called the school and asked to principal but they were busy all day all week their schedules was too full to speak to a parent of a child who is being touched by another student ! He was seen by the nurse and was sent back to class. Other children help him throughout the day he spends all day in school came home on the bus. But he made it home dragging himself home. When I came home and saw him I took him to the ER he had a broken ankle. Nobody in school notifies me. when I call the school the next day the nurse said "I call but you didn't answer" I ask if she call the other emergency numbers nurse said no. I told her my son has medical issues and that he can't express some things but she had to see him he can't stand on his own. Legally you can't sue a school that is protected by federal law. And there is nothing the school is going to do but talk to the nurse to just do better.

After being in an…read moreexcellent classical charter, our 3 boys experienced bad language and bullying for the first time. As we prayed for guidance, I met two families who told me how much they loved Holy Trinity for their teens without my even asking. At first, I believed there was no way we could manage the cost. I am so glad that we took the first steps anyway. Our freshman son has quickly developed a community of friends who also value their Christian faith. We love that his teachers foster meaningful conversations and deeper learning in their classes. Financially it isn't easy, but we have always felt supported and are so grateful for the generous financial aid that has given our son a faith-filled and academically challenging environment to mature in.

I have one more child and will have him here when the time comes also. The teachers here they seem as if they want to come to school everyday and that is always great. I have seen athrletic well educated kids come from this school.
