If you've never had jianbing before, it's basically a Chinese savory crepe made fresh right in front of you. They crack the egg onto the griddle, spread it thin, layer on crispy wonton cracker, herbs, sauces, and whatever protein you choose... and then fold it into this perfectly balanced, handheld masterpiece. I got the classic with added beef, and the texture alone is worth the trip. You've got crispy, chewy, soft, and saucy all happening in one bite. It's somehow light but still super satisfying. Also not greasy in that heavy, regret-it-later kind of way. The team working the truck clearly knows what they're doing. Everything moves fast, and there's something really satisfying about watching them assemble it with precision. This is the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite and go "okay... this is legit." If you're even slightly into street food or want something different from the usual halal cart rotation, this is a must-try. I'll 100% be coming back and probably bringing people with me next time.

The food is pretty decent. I've gotten a steak burrito bowl (Calexico Carne Asada) and while it wasn't amazing like Chipotle, the amount of meat I've gotten was great and it held me over for hours. They were always easy to spot because of their bright yellow paint. A lot of their customers probably come here for their simple breakfast items (pastries, bagels, rolls, eggs), but no disrespect to their breakfast, customers should really be lining up for their gargantuan lunch platters. I've never had their breakfast, but the items listed are pretty standard breakfast fare. As for lunch though, there's a number of Mediterranean-style sandwiches and platters customers can order. Most of their lunch entrees are served with either chicken or lamb kebab style meat along with rice, hummus/French fries, salad and a green salad. And did I mention they also include a thick pita bread too? And a free water/soda? All for $9! This is the year 2019 and they still serve a hippo-size serving of food to customers for $9 with a free soda. Gotta love it. On my 1st visit, I ordered a Kafka Shish Kebab platter and was AMAZED at the amount of food in the platter. There was a full salad in the top left, a full serving of hummus in the top right and a massive serving of rice with 2 large kafka shish kebabs and 2 falafels sitting on top. When I opened the box to reveal the platter, the heavenly angels sang to me. It was like a work of art with all of the colors - the green lettuce, red slices of tomato, the tan hummus, the dark kafka shish kebabs and falafels sitting perfectly on top of the glowing red rice. Better yet, everything was delicious. The rice was my favorite because it had a lot of flavor in it. The kafka shish kebab might not have been my favorite and may have been a little dry, but nothing was going to ruin my good feelings of seeing this delicious mess. In a subsequent visit I also ordered the chicken kebab, which pretty much was the same as the kakfa shish kebab, but with grilled chicken and, honestly, it was one of the best street cart meals I ever had. The chicken was tender, flavorful and cooked just right. If there's a platter to order from this street cart/truck, get the chicken kebab. ANYWAYS, WOW, what an extreme disappoint is all I can say. They were offering their Pad Thai which was described as "Award winning Bangkok street style wok-fried noodles with tofu, scallion, bean sprouts, egg and peanut". Let me tell you, this Pad thai they gave out was the WORST pad thai I've ever had in my life. First of all, it looked absolutely NOTHING like the photo. (The photos look effing amazing). The entire dish was plain, flavorless and sauceless. The noodles were plain white, no added sauce or anything like it. They were definitely not wok fried as described but tasted like they were plain boiled. Image boiling a box of pasta, straining it and then eating it JUST like that. That's exactly what this entire dish tasted like. There was no tofu, scallion or bean sprouts. I had to add SRIRACHA to the dish for flavor. You don't add sriracha to pad thai!!! But I was desperate for some flavor. I'm sorry but WHY would you demolish your entire dish just because you're on a college campus? I'm sure the school is paying you very well to be there and what you did is basically RIP THEM OFF. Does the school know you did that? Or did you tell them beforehand that you're going to revamp your dishes for the worst because this is a school event? I'd love to know. No wonder the Halal line was almost 10 times as long. People probably know the deal. This was my fist school event so I had nothing to go by. If you can provide a valid explanation I will take down this post. Trevor and crew prepared and served passed hors d'oeuvres, then followed up with a full dinner buffet and a snack that could be ordered at the truck. Everyone raved about the food, which was certainly worth raving about! We particularly enjoyed the bao buns, holy basil stir fry with japanese eggplant, waterfall hanger steak, and chicken satay. This is apparently the only Mongolian spot in the city, and it happened to be pretty nearby. I decided to get two things, with one dish for dinner that night, and one for the next afternoon for lunch. They were out of some things, as it was evening by that point. The friendly man working in the cart also gave me a salted butter tea, which was tasty, reminding me of course of the similar butter teas from the various Nepalese, Tibetan, and Bhutanese spots, with the closest being the latter. For dinner, I had the Tsuivan/, a mix of fresh stir-fried noodles with veggies and beef for $20. This was pricey, but there was plenty of beef, which was very tender. The noodles, which I think were wheat-based, had a pleasant mouth feel, being toothsome without being hard. The vegetables consisted of bell peppers, onions, and a couple of others. Otherwise, there was a mild cumin flavor along with a couple of other spices. Lunch the next day was the Buuz/, the Mongolian version of momos, with a choice of filling. In this case, I went with lamb, with Australian lamb, scallions, and fresh Mongolian spices. These were 8 for $15, and they were large and delicious. I found the skin thinner than many momos I have had, and the filling was juicy with a mix of spices. There were also two sauces, a lightly spicy and sour one, and a yogurt with some greens.
