Everything about this place is great except one thing…read more.. There's a male patron doing naked yoga sessions in the sauna that is ruining it for everyone else (we call him sauna guy). We're not talking about basic stretches either, were talking full blown legs up in the air, grunting obnoxiously, doing the splits. Last time I was in there, he was literally doing the splits on his back; spread eagle for all to see! The only reason I'm putting this review in is because the owner and / or management need to know about this. I have already complained twice to the front desk, but the 20yr old kid on shift isn't going to do anything about it. Front desk kid even said they 'talked to the guy already, but he wont stop.' Hey how about suspending his membership? Then revoking it? It's not rocket science how to solve this problem. I don't care if he wants to stretch so he can get good at 'the splits' and I don't care that he wants to be nude, I care that he wants to do both at the same time and take up half the fkng sauna. Wear speedo shorts or don't put your balls up in the air. It's one or the other my guy. For clarity, I have included some images (not sure what yelp did with them) to help demonstrate to management the types of moves this guy is doing (while naked). He is visually assaulting my retinas and I've had enough of his inappropriate exhibitionist behavior. I'm just as tolerant as anyone else, but this creep has got to go!

They have a special membership with no commitment for travelers and I cannot recommend this gym highly enough. The gym itself is clean, modern, bright and has a great energy. It features top of the line equipment and includes everything that you can possibly think of (rowers, ellipticals, treadmills, stair stepper, TRX bands, etc.). On top of the gym equipment, the membership includes access to red light therapy & Normatec compression for full body. For an additional cost, you can enjoy the sauna and cold plunge located in a separate locked room. The owner, Douglas, is so kind and welcoming. The other trainers are the same. If you have the opportunity, purchasing a training session(s) with any of them would be a great investment. You could tell each of their clients truly enjoyed them and they were consistently busy. With that, even with 3-4 trainers seeing clients, there was plenty of room for other members to workout. The gym itself has three separate workout areas and plenty of machines / equipment to be shared. If we lived in Santa Fe this would be the gym that I would join without question. We miss the gym every day! Thanks for an amazing experience!

My eating habits, while generally "good", had slipped and I was feeling badly about my shape and health overall. Then I started training with Simon 4x a week. Having Simon there to show me new exercises, to coach me along and to push me to push myself was just what I needed. No more excuses, no more moping around the gym doing the same old routine I was used to and that had become so boring that I stopped. He challenges me to try new things that I would never think of on my own and that push the limits of what my body can handle in a good way- motivating me to get better and better at the things I find most diffcult. And while it's always a great workout, it's always a lot of fun too! Training with Simon has impacted not only my fitness level, but the entire way I live my life in a healthy way each day. Too often we all forget that our health should be our top priority, thanks Simon for helping me to see that for myself again! I'm sad he moved from San Francisco to Santa Fe, but hopefully lots of people in New Mexico can share in my positive experience!

Owned by Shane and Kim, The Miller Gym is in a warehouse off a Pacheco. It's a lovely space with a lot of natural light and bright colors. The gym has a half-wall in the middle which divides the space between the lifting platforms and other equipment. Kim spends a lot of time and energy maintaining the space, and it shows. This is probably the nicest gym environment in which I have ever trained. It feels welcoming and friendly rather than intimidating. I moved to The Miller Gym to work on Olympic lifts. I had been at a local Crossfit affiliate, but I found I wasn't making the strength gains I wanted. Shane creates the programming for each person based around goals, experience and abilities. In less than a year, I've found I've made a ton of improvement and definitely see gains in my lifting. That's a credit to Shane and Kim; the other lifters in the gym who give me really helpful feedback; and to me for getting in to train! (No amount of programming works if you don't go in.) Shane has a lot of experience coaching, and he's very patient and helpful. Other gym members include a whole range of community members, and even a decently-sized group that commutes up from Albuquerque. Ages range from teens to people in their 80s. There are a lot of women. The gym also has a weightlifting team (Miller Weightlifting) - it's an inclusive and friendly group. Stop by and check it out!

I had told him that my mother was sick in Massachusetts and that I might have to leave suddenly - that's why I wanted a pay-as-you-go plan. He tricked me into signing up for multiple classes that I never used. Ekemba - If YOU REMEMBER correctly, I told you that my mother was ill and I might have to leave Santa Fe at a moments notice. That is why I wanted the pay-per-session. I was not fully "committed" to paying for sessions I might not be able to attend. I did not want a program. As for not answering your phone calls (which has nothing to do with anything) I was pre-occupied with personal issues. Especially my mother being very ill. I'm sure that you can understand. Unfortunately, you were not at the top of my priority list. To summarize, I told you that I wanted to pay per class because I had a very sick mother. Why would I want to sign up for a series of courses if I knew that I might need to attend to her. I asked for a refund of my money of $1,800, he refused to pay me. He is a con-man. So be careful when you sign any documents with Ekemba at Solcare, Santa Fe NM. BTW - It's Steven with a "v" which you would have seen if you had fully read my review.

I've been working out 2-3 times a week with Lance Miller for over four years. I wholeheartedly…read morerecommend him as a personal trainer and overall wellness coach. I should note that I'm as unlikely an athlete as you're going to find. I came to Lance's gym after 50+ years of mostly sedentary living, emotional eating (heavy on the bread), and a well-established pattern of failed starts. But I had some significant health issues and, based on what happened with my elderly parents, I could see what future lay in store for me if I didn't get very intentional about building strength, stamina, and health. Still, I showed up skittish and skeptical, even though it was my idea to be there. I credit Lance's encouraging and thoughtful handling of the situation for making my participation stick. He's whip-smart but also kind and has a great goofball sense of humor. The one-on-one coaching I get from Lance is the only thing that's ever worked for me in the fitness arena. For our very first session, Lance sat me down to talk about my health and fitness goals in detail. My most important goal was to increase and maintain my strength and stamina as I get older, so I can keep my activity levels and independence as long as possible. Even now, more than four years later, Lance frequently programs exercises to confirm that I have the kind of functional fitness that can keep me living an active, independent life, like Turkish Get-Ups. Turkish Get-Ups aren't my favorite (that would be deadlifts), but after executing a set of them I know I have the core strength and stability, flexibility, and balance to get me through most anything in real life. Under Lance's guidance and encouragement, I take a no-sugar-no-grains approach to eating and track what I eat in an app for Lance's reference. That change has helped me sleep better, have less-creaky joints, and be more energetic, in addition to reducing visible inflammation in my face. (I used to be pretty red-faced.) But here's the really good part: when I make not-so-great food choices, Lance doesn't lay on the guilt. What he'll do is talk with me to unpack the thoughts and feelings that went into the not-so-great choice, so I'll understand better why I made the choice and/or what alternatives might be better to choose next time. Lance's approach is to educate and clarify, not to judge or punish, so I feel comfortable being candid when I track what I eat. When the pandemic first hit and the Bay Area was going into shelter-in-place, I didn't want to stop working out with Lance. The physical and mental benefits were too important to me, and a pandemic seemed like the worst time to regress. Lance quickly figured out on the spot how a virtual training session could work, sent me home with some borrowed equipment to supplement the training equipment I already had, and...presto! Our fitness journey went online, via Zoom sessions. We've done the workouts online for almost two years at this writing, with scarcely a miss since Lance and his wife relocated from the Bay Area to Santa Fe. Sure, there are some things I can't do from home (e.g., no rope climb, because there's no rope), but there are upsides, too. For example, wearing earbuds for the workout means I can still hear and talk with Lance while I'm off running up and down stairs. Lance has been marvelously inventive and flexible in designing workouts I can do at home, inspiring me to invest in additional equipment, so I can do even more. I miss seeing him in person, of course, but I almost never cancel a workout, because I enjoy them and always feel better (tired, but better) when we're done than I did at the start. I'm proud of the progress I've made, even since the pandemic began. If you're ready to start working toward better health and fitness (and have a great time on the way), work with Lance.

First starting in the gym, and then with COVID via Zoom, my fitness as a 55+ year old improved dramatically, and when I was interested in losing some poundage, Lance guided me through a program that resulted in 17 pounds of weight loss. Lance has a unique combination of many years of experience as both a CrossFit coach and student, an extensive knowledge of nutrition and great recommendations for improving flexibility -- while bringing a great wit and sense of humor to the discussion. Be prepared for a great time while getting fit and healthy.
