At my last treatment, there was a lot of disruption directly outside the treatment room door. I've lived in Santa Fe for 25 years, but have never experienced anything like it when getting a treatment of any kind - massage, acupuncture, colonic. After about fifteen minutes or so, I gave up and ended my treatment. Outside the door were two separate conversations - two men and two women - within ten feet of where I'd been lying. Each group was competing with the other group to be heard over the talking. There's a waiting room toward the entrance which is typically empty. It would have been less disruptive and disrespectful if they had conducted their socializing there instead of directly outside the treatment room door. It was obvious I was upset, but I didn't say anything. At the time, the price posted at the website was $130 unless you paid cash. (It's since been increased to $140). I was very busy and didn't have time to get cash, but was surprised by the $135 I was asked to pay. I was already angry about the excessive noise and wrote "price increase!" on my check. It's a lot of money for a partial treatment. The next day, I got a voice message from Amy on my phone. As mentioned, I had been busy and had appointments that day. I didn't immediately return her call. The following day, I got a voice message that I would no longer be accepted as a patient. Amy wasn't present during my last treatment so I can only imagine what Violetta told her. When I later looked at the cleared check at the bank website, Amy had written "you're an asshole" on the face of the check. (WellsFargo scans all checks and I can view these scans at my account. I did a screen shot of it on my laptop and thus it appears grainy.) When Amy responded later, she denied knowing who wrote it. If you look at the screenshot, you'll see that "Amy H" endorsed the back of the check (lower right corner). Amy may not have written "you're an asshole," but she knows who did. Amy lied. In response to Amy: As mentioned, the conversations I was subjected to were social. Two women (who appeared to work at 360) were talking in one corner of the waiting area outside my treatment room (not the hallway) and an old gentleman was talking to a worker outside an office door in the waiting area. These conversations continued for 15 minutes at least and each group was trying to be heard over the other group. You were not there. As I was upset about the noise, I didn't fill out the whole check. It was written at your establishment (your signature is on the back) and I assume Violeta wrote the expletive comment. You messed up and instead of giving me an opportunity to be heard, you relied on an unreliable employee and left a voice message on my phone that I was no longer welcome. I have never been treated so unprofessionally.

I also had been dealing with some aches, pains and numbness in my limbs, sluggishness and brain fogginess. I just thought that it came with getting older or that I needed a healthier lifestyle. Then a few years ago I started having some issues with my ears - getting blocked, itchy and sore. Fast forward to a couple of months ago; I got invited to a luncheon where a couple of doctors would give a short presentation on their new clinic. I thought "what the heck - free food"... yes, I love to eat, (no shame )! At the presentation they mentioned how much subluxation, (when your spine is out of whack), affects so many other parts of your body because of nerves being pinched, etc. From their short presentation, I also heard them mention that chiropractic can help with ear infections and numbness/tingling of the limbs... They were also offering a great deal to come and get an x-ray to see how my spine was and an initial alignment. I thought "what the heck, it's a decent price; if I'm ever going to try this, now is the time". ...and please understand that I was desperate to try anything to fix the issue with my ears! Today: I hate to sound like those witnesses that sound fake, but it's true: ‍ I now believe in chiropractic care because it helped me! My ears completely cleared up and I have zero problems. The numbness and tingling in my limbs is gone. My back and hips have been more limber and pain-free than before. I sleep better, mental clarity is better, even my digestive problems have been better; and as I continue to come in, I feel better! I tell all my family and friends about my turn-around so far, and decided to get onto the web and pass it on to whoever needs to hear it too! Drs. Carlos and Elena have been great with working with me and helping me to achieve better health, and I thank them and their wonderful clinic for that. Valuable to me in a practitioner are qualities of patience, thoroughness, humility, and collaboration. In my experience visiting St. Francis Health Center, and specifically with my nurse practitioner, Abby Rodriguez, I have felt entirely seen and cared for. The establishment is explicitly feminist and highly regards the voices and opinions of patients, materials in the lobby emphasize the power of women to make their own health choices and it is clear that the St. Francis Health Center exists to support women to do just that. In my checkups with Abby, I never felt like she lacked for time. Abby asked lots of questions pertaining to my physical, mental, and emotional health, in addition to performing a routine physical and ordering blood work. Based on my answers and the results of my blood work, Abby has been able to recommend a range of non-invasive options to support my particular health needs including vitamins, herbs, and supplements, and personally recommending mental health professionals, acupuncturists, various types of alternative and energy therapists. For example, Abby was able to recommend a pre- and post-surgery protocol of vitamins/supplements that accelerated my healing in incredible ways, much to my surgeon's dismay. I started out with the owner John Connerly, having been looking for another chiropractor since my go-to left town and for having developed a very painful condition in my lower back. John introduced me to a form of chiropractic technique that I was unfamiliar with. It was just what the doctor ordered (pun intended)! I started going regularly as my pain was becoming less regular. Then I "graduated" to Dr. Larry Widmer, whose gentle hands, effective technique, and sense of humor has now become my staple on an almost weekly basis. There is something quite wonderful when your trust levels change from "we'll see" to "thank you!" The staff, overseen by John Connerly's wife, Margaret, are absolutely fantastic...friendly, always smiling, and ready to help at any given moment. One never feels nervous nor intrusive at any time. The cost, too, is the most reasonable I have found in all of Santa Fe. At this point, I don't see any reason for changing doctors ever again.

After several visits, Dr. Connerly suggested I see a rheumatologist. I told him what my primary said. He said "so what!". So she can't find anything wrong with you - rule it out. So, I went. A simple blood test later I got a diagnosis. I got on meds and off the cane. It's curable and I'm on the way there. Thanks Dr. Connerly, for insisting that I go.
