I had missed this exhibit when it was in Springfield last year and was so happy to catch it closer to home. The entire exhibit was very well done and it was fun to show my teen things I had or used at her age. My fellow Gen X friend enjoyed it too. John was so knowledgeable about upcoming museum and town activities that I now have a list of things I want to attend in the near future. I saved the Facebook event to attend their upcoming Ferris Bueller movie showing event in a few weeks. I'm interesting in seeing the fine arts exhibit that will be replacing this one in a few weeks too.

Easy to park but it has limited hours, staff here is absolutely friendly and knowledgeable. It's very quiet and peaceful so nobody will really be bothered. If you're visiting the area too, it's great to get off at the metra stop nearby.

This was our first visit, and my 5yo twins had a blast learning about different careers where a STEM education can be applied, building roadways and pathways, weighing objects, adjusting weight on pulleys, coding a caterpillar, connecting tubes for a ball drop, seeing the components behind a wall, and upcycling materials to create a take-home-craft. We read a book, counted bones, and played with other curious children. There were cleaning supplies on hand in the maker's space as well as hand sanitizer. The space will bright with colors and ample comfortable, child-appropriate seating. Would we come back? Heck yeah! Thank you, Mr. Charlie, and all the other wonderful staff at HSC for a fun Friday filled with learning.

This is a nice little local history museum located in an old church in downtown Lemont…read more The museum itself is downstairs in the bulding, the church itself can be rented for weddings and baptisms. Though I haven t been wed there, I do think it would have been beautiful with it s old charme. They even have a little garden at the backside of the church, where pictures can be taken. I really think of it ideal for a romantical wedding. It s a little hidden gem. :-) The museum downstairs has lots and lots of exhibition pieces and the nice lady from the museum can give you a great informative tour. I think the museum is also great for kids of all ages. It s worth the trip, because it s not expensive at all! They just ask for 1 Dollar admission for kids of the age 12 and older and 2 Dollars for adults. You can get lots of great books there too and even get a little book on the history of most buildings in downtown Lemont, which itself is already a nice little place, where you really feel like 50 years back in time! :-) It s even possible to do some research on your ancestors in the archive of the museum. But you have to get an appointment for that. It s possible to drop by and just ask or even call them for that. I ve been volunteering there and going through local history by checking old newspapers and yearbooks is lots of fun. Hope for lots of people to find this on yelp, because the museum and all the volunteers there are so nice and helpful. :-D

The cows are my favorite! I wish I could give this place a 5 star but this last visit we lost 2 kids in our group because the hay stacks have two exits. I wish they could block one side off. Also, a SOBER, careful adult in our group almost got plowed in the head with one of those hammers from the strong man game while she was walking by a man doing it. They really should put a staff member there AND put a fence around it. Those adults having fun aren't looking around every time they swing... it's a recipe for disaster.

Perfectly geared to the 1-5 group, your toddler/preschooler will find plenty to do here. The space is small but, on a Monday morning, it does not feel crowded. It's a very…read morevery small museum but it does tell some of the history of the area, and that was interesting to learn a bit more about that older history, particularly the native peoples in the area. I visited because the Journeys exhibit sounded interesting, and it was small but well done. I think the other half of the exhibit, that goes more into depth about the Potawatomi, the area pre-colonization, and the overharvesting of beavers and other animals in the area, is a permanent exhibit. That was actually more interesting overall than the Journeys exhibit for me but that's mostly because I knew less of that history and information. It was cool to see an example of a Three Sisters garden, which was method of agriculture used by native folks. There's a game I love called Three Sisters and it is based upon these concepts. Squash, corn, and beans are the "three sisters"; they're known as this because of their symbiotic relationship. The corn stalks give the beans a structure upon which to climb and grow, and the nutrients in the beans nourish the soil. The squash--specifically, the leaves--provide ground cover and keep pests at bay. It's so fascinating to learn about some of these techniques that aren't practiced as much in modern day society. Not inside the museum but outside is a longhouse, a cabin, and possibly in the growing season an example of a three sisters garden. There's also walking trails and what looked like a picnic area. There's a reasonably large parking lot as well.

With kids off from school, it seemed odd that it was shuttered for the day. That said, we walked the trails and read the educational signage. Very clean and trails are either paved, planked, or groomed. It's a nice little nature park, and we will probably try a visit again when the buildings are open. Hopefully the star rating will improve once we are able to access the exhibits!

No. But I love the decor, creepiness of it & the fact that your ticket includes the haunted prison, zombie shooting, then a third attraction at the end, more of a maze with strobe lights. There's a bar in the the main area where you can drink, as well as food truck(s) and a T-shirt shop. You can always add on the hidden bar feature that allows you to take 2 shots at different points in the haunted house & zombie shooting. (Shots are generally liquor with a mixer). You can purchase thru Costco for cheaper ticket deals!

It is three attractions included with your ticket. The main prison haunt, zombie laser tag, and a maze. You can also purchase mini games (5 minute escape rooms). I enjoyed myself lots of Jumpscares but granted I get scared at basically everything. Overall, it was a fun experience. If you can find a non peak time to go that would be better. They try to have groups go through so you can experience it and get the scares to yourself but we ended up catching up to a group so they got the scares. It's a haunted house so I'm not going to get very detailed, that would ruin the fun.
