They helped inspire many of us with the existing clay art around us. There were so many tools to choose from too. The instructors were really helpful and nice. They helped my daughter build her creation. We got so much clay that we were able to build 2-5 creations. They offered a variety of free drinks while we create. It was just so much fun. We had to return another to glaze our art which was at our flexibility. There were so many glazes to choose from too. Then after our art pieces were glazed, we picked up our art all packaged up safely. This place is perfectly located in a nice shopping center. With easy parking. It clean for an art studio. There were so many tools available. The staff are very knowledgeable. It's also decorated very cute inside. My daughter and I can't wait to return. They offer camps, classes, parent drop off nights, memberships, walk-ins and more.

I'm really not sure why she didn't want to do a small party from 10 to 12 when she was going to be open at 12 for walkins.

The reason for the visit here that day was to celebrate my nephew's birthday. Many of his friends were there too. The storefront for the business is similar to how many other places are, but you can definitely see the big Ninja Warrior sign across the windows on the outside. After coming inside, there was a table area for everyone to sit. However, at that time, it was playtime for the kids. They were running through an obstacle course to try and beat their prior timed attempts. They were at this for quite a while, and it was fun to watch them try, especially after doing it awhile as you could tell they were getting tired out. I'd call that part mission accomplished. Once the obstacle course time was done, everyone came back to the table to celebrate my nephew's birthday. The staff were getting the next event set up during that time. Everyone had a great time with the cake. The second part of the play here involved the kids vs. adults. The lights were turned off, and it was basically like a Nerf War between them. I didn't do that part of it, but I did watch it all unfold. The kids were very quick to get the adults. There are several hiding areas to avoid getting caught or to sneak attack with the Nerf gun. There were also some mini snowballs you could throw around too. Once that part was done and the lights were back on, you could see everyone was tired out. Overall, this was a great place to have a birthday party. The staff were welcoming, and they were patient with the kids too. The atmosphere in here was tuned to the level of fun. They also have weekly summer camps and other offerings as well. There seems to be something for everyone here. If you are looking for a place to go for a birthday party or some other type of event, be sure to check this place out.

I really appreciate the coach's responses to the kids and ability to create respect in the gym/dojo as well as make it really fun for them. Really thankful we heard about this place.

I find that odd and weird. All this money this daycare wants you to pay yet it is troubling that someone in such a critical early education role does not hold a degree in Early Childhood Education. The Goddard School is not simply a time for play--it is a foundational academic daycare that supports essential cognitive, social, and emotional development. Educators in this space should have specialized training in early childhood development, instructional strategies for young learners, and knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum standards. A degree in Linguistics, while valuable, does not provide the pedagogical framework or developmental understanding required to teach effectively at this level. This situation raises concerns about the standards being upheld in early learning environments. Recognizing someone as "Teacher of the Year" who lacks a degree in Early Childhood Education not only undermines the value of that credential but also sends the message that passion alone qualifies one to lead a classroom. Passion is important--but it must be paired with relevant, formal education to ensure children receive the quality instruction they deserve.

It took me almost a year to build up the courage to send him and in the summer of 2021 he started at Goddard. Now it's the summer of 2022 and both of our children attend Goddard. Our son is a little timid in large groups and likes to play independently, in each class his "style" has been respected. We get regular updates on his days and when a little extra attention is needed from us, his teachers have been gracious enough to help us reinforce positive behaviors at home. He loves his school and his teachers, every day he has a "great day" (his words). Navigating school and childcare in the post-pandemic has not been easy but we are always thankful and appreciative of the communication and cautiousness that Goddard places on the safety of the students and teachers. I would encourage any family looking for daycare/preschool to explore Goddard!

Since it is only about 20 miles from the bridge tunnel up the shore (one of my favorite places on earth!), we decided to check it out. SO glad we did! And since admission is free, it made the bridge tunnel toll worth it! When you walk in you are greeted by the most friendly docent who gives you a brief background of the museum and what it's about. She told us they have several films and asked if we wanted to watch any of them. We did - "Our Island Home" gives you a terrific view of what life on Hog Island was like before it was abandoned from people who were actually born there. After whatever movie(s) you want to watch, you are "free range" to explore the museum. It is SO well done. I could have roamed around for longer than the 2 hours we were there (but I'm a museum reader - I have to check out everything!). Definitely allow yourself a couple of hours to explore. The exhibits are fantastic and laid out well. All artifacts were donated or on loan from actual island families - they don't purchase their artifacts. I like that. Shows the love for the community that these people have. Definitely check out the attic! There are hands on things for the kids - it's hot up there in the summer though! I was fascinated by the twisted chimney (not going to tell you why it was built that way - you'll have to go find out for yourself!). This is a GREAT little stop if you are looking for something cool to do on your way up or down Rt. 13 on your way to your vacation or a great day trip from the VA Beach area. With all their many activities and programs, we will definitely be back!

Couches and tables throughout but hard to get on a busy day. I did see staff walking around. I am sure parents like taking there kids here - they probably sleep hard later.
