Within…read more30 minutes, I was at the register purchasing a $157 monthly pass (4 months) for the toddler area. I was impressed enough that I texted three friends photos, told my wife to start planning our son's birthday party here, and was actively asking managers about upgrading to full access because I had just discovered the larger "Adrenaline" area. For context: it's Indiana winter, it was cold, and I had a hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up because I was freezing. During my 2 1/2-hour stay, I spoke with two managers about memberships--neither said a word about my hood. While walking around trying to keep up my child, I heard someone off to the side say, "Take your hood off." I approached the man, who asked me politely. I politely asked why it was a rule. His response was shocking: "So I can see your entire face on my 50 cameras." This was 11:30 a.m. on a Friday, not a packed weekend night. I turned away to continue looking for my child, removed the hood, and muttered "whatever dude" under my breath. That's when the situation escalated wildly. He charged toward me, yelling: "I'm the owner--if you don't like it, leave!" I had already complied. That wasn't enough. He then shouted: "I'll give you your money back!" And finally said something that truly crossed a line: "If there are off-colored people with hoods up and we ask them to take it down, what would that look like?" I'm still trying to understand why race was brought into this at all. Let me be clear: * The facility is great for kids * The staff and managers were wonderful * We were not leaving anytime soon until this happened But the owner's behavior was aggressive, unnecessary, and completely inappropriate. A simple rule explanation would've sufficed. Instead, it turned into a power trip with racial commentary that had no place in the conversation. Rules are rules--but how you enforce them matters. I'll take the refund. And I'll take my business elsewhere.

I filled out the waiver forms that my best friend sent me in advance as she paid for me. A little background, I'm a parent of a 5 year old with autism who needs to be watched at all times. My best friend was aware so she told me I'd be ok being with him. When my family arrived and went to check in for the party the young lady checking us in gave me a wrist band and socks for my son. I tried to put it on him, but he refused because it's a sensory thing. I told her that I will wear it as he will never not be out of my reach and she told me no. I put it on my wrist anyway, because I'm going to keep my son from any unnecessary behaviors. Then I asked about my pair of socks and she gave me a wrist band that stated I was just a spectator and told me I cannot go with him down the slide. Well my intention is not to go down the slide with him, but I would assist him getting to the slides. Met with another no. After that, I was over it and just walked to the party and let my husband take him to the soft play area. I did inform my best friend about, but at that time I was over it and didn't want to ruin my god-daughters party. I don't know, the overall experience left me frustrated.

I used to go more when I was school-age, but I recently bought my one year old for a trial class. It was a good time and I enjoyed meeting some new parent friends and having a place for my baby to run around. It was a little more hands-off and a little less catered towards babies than other classes around town that we've tried and enjoyed. The teacher was super nice, but she kept looking at her phone to turn the music on/off, check what was next for the lesson, etc. I really try to not have my phone out around my baby and so I'd appreciate if they could just use a sound system or write notes on a post-it or something so that phones are out during a paid-for class experience. I understand that it's not usually a big deal but think that would help elevate the class. There was a lot of time to run around on our own, but my baby is too little for the bars, can't jump on the mats, and then there were only a few things to crawl on, so it could use with a few extra engaging activities too for younger ages. They did have a 'back hand spring' lesson that was cute/funny and my baby enjoyed rolling over the foam cylinder - LOL. So proud of that little nugget. The man at the front desk was nice and I liked that they had toys in the lobby for kids to play with after class. I also noticed a private room for parties and saw that they offer summer camps too. I can see my elementary-school age self loving coming here as a nice intro into gymnastics and would be happy to try it again when our son is a little older.

Busy Bees Play Café in Carmel is the perfect spot to grab a coffee while the kids play. There have been plenty of changes every time we visit and I have loved the design each time. The play area is clean and thoughtfully designed. You can tell everything was created with parents and child safety in mind! The staff are friendly and do a good job of making their rounds to tidy up! There's a great variety to keep little ones entertained. I love that I can actually relax with a coffee (which was delicious, by the way!) while still keeping an eye on my kids. Another nice touch is that there are plenty of helpful things in the bathrooms (extra clothes, diapers, wipes, etc) for parents who may have forgotten something. This happened to me the first time we visited and I was so grateful! If you're looking for an easy, fun outing with your kids (especially on cold or rainy days), Busy Bees is a must-visit. The kids will need grip socks while playing, but you can bring in your own. They are also a nut-free facility which is a plus for parents like me who has a child with a nut allergy. If you're a parent, you understand that at this point in Winter, everyone in the house is probably going stir crazy and you need a change of scenery! It is located in a strip mall in Carmel. There is plenty of parking in front of the building. We do live on the Southside so it was a 35-40 minute drive to get here. And when you have a toddler, that could make it or break it before you even get there! But we made it thankfully. It was $16.00 per child for 2 hours and the adults were free. I do think that is a high price and was one of the reasons why I gave them 4 stars. The other reason was the drive. For us Southsiders, it is a far drive especially when you have a screaming toddler in the backseat who does not want to be strapped down any longer. They do have a lot for kids! When you walk in, there is a baby/toddler area with smaller toys. Then there is a little drawing area and off to the sides there are plenty of little rooms for different children's needs. Whether they just need a time out, there's a room for that, whether they just want to play music, there's a room for that, whether they just need a dark, quiet room due to sensory overload, yep you guessed it, there's a room for that too. We spent most of our time in the back area with the swings and large trampoline. I would definitely recommend trying this place out! We had a great time and wish we had something like this for kids on the Southside.
