The dental assistant was very nice but they could not get their equipment working during my son's visit. They ended up having to use three different x-ray guns and even then they were having trouble transmitting them to the computer. When the dentist came in, she only looked at the x-rays and never even looked at my son's mouth and just gave us a quote for sealant treatment and the charges. She was very dismissive of questions and seemed in a rush to get to the next patient. Definitely would not recommend this office!

They spent time making him comfortable and getting to know him before starting an exam. They were extremely gentle and seemed to genuinely care for my son to make sure he was okay. The toys, video game consoles, and movie in the waiting room are definitely a huge part of the appeal for the kids. That said, it's really starting to feel run-down and unloved. The video game consoles are always broken or offline, the movies are too quiet to hear, and those toys have dwindled. The reception desk staff seems harried and doesn't have time to make sure the kids are excited to be there. The radio in the lobby is much louder than the movie, and the seating in the waiting room is downright gross to sit on- it's filthy. Where it used to feel clean and cared for and welcoming, now it feels shabby and broken, and that almost subliminal feeling of it not being cared for starts to translate into it feeling like a place that is uncomfortable. I do know that my kids still don't mind going to the dentist and they get good, solid care from a dentist who is well-regarded by the profession in this region. That is hugely important. But we also carefully seek out pediatric dentists that make our feel children comfortable and safe, so they don't take a fear of going to the dentist into adulthood with them. I hope that they give their physical space and waiting room some TLC so it can continue to welcome kids and help them have healthy attitudes toward their dental health.

I was referred to Dr. Algenio at Pediatric Dental Specialty Associates by my general dentist when…read moremy son was in preschool. He had some issues we couldn't figure out the cause of. Dr. Algenio figured it out instantly and he put years of my stress at ease the very first visit. My son needed to get a couple procedures done and I couldn't believe how quickly he was able to do it while maintaining accuracy. We didn't have to put my son under for the procedure, he was awake and I didn't have to worry about the risks associated with full anesthesia. A little nitrous did the trick and we were in and out within 30 minutes! Flash forward...I now have my daughter as his patient and we have been with Dr. Algenio for over 10 years! Dr. Algenio is super friendly and fun to be around and he has a way of putting kids (and parents) at total ease and eliminates the fear of going to the dentist. We never have to wait long at all and never go past a half hour in a visit which is so important due to oubusy schedules. I couldn't recommend him and his office more! Our family had a tremendous experience of dental care for our three children. To be quite honest, it was the best dental or health care experience we have ever had across-the-board. Being new to Chicagoland from an out-of-state move and having a 13 year old, 11 year old and 5 year old in need of dental care, Brush Pediatric Dentistry was the best place we could possibly be for our children's needs. Upon discovering this clinic on the web, we were very impressed by the excellent communication on their website that made our first visit extremely comfortable. Not to mention, we were able to fill out our pre-visit paperwork efficiently and easily through their online service from the website. The routine care visits for two of our kids were done with professionalism, kindness, compassion and skill. Unfortunately, our other child and the youngest at age 5 years, had significant dental problems that needed serious attention. For that reason, we believed it was a God-send that we were at this practice and under the care of Dr. Albert and the staff team. Our young boy, who is quite strong-willed and sensitive to sensory situations, had the need for several fillings and crowns. It was a substantial care plan that was legitimate, and we were very well informed of the issues he was facing in his teeth. We were provided for very well in being able to access a care plan for helping us with the unexpected costs. And as far as the treatment over the course of multiple visits, our son was treated exceptionally well emotionally and medically. It was a miracle that he was able to go through all of the visits with super success. Dr. Albert is a very talented dentist and an exceptional person. In the location where we previously lived, we were actually family friends with 3 outstanding dentists who were the best in the area. We got to learn what makes for a great dentist and practice. Not soon after being taken back for…read morehis first appointment, Dr. Albert came out and indicated that he needed to be scheduled for emergency dental rehabilitation surgery under general anesthesia at Lurie. We agreed, but it was a huge ordeal. He ended up being under for over 2 hours and it was very traumatic. I feel like operative dentistry in the hospital provides a much higher reimbursement (plus out-of-pocket) so there's a huge incentive to push it. I wasn't thrilled and I hope people do their due diligence.
