Before going, they confirmed his insurance would be accepted while setting up the appointment and cover his appointment at 100%. A few days later he goes in for his appointment, which he was told again was covered 100% by his insurance. About a week later we received a call saying they don't take his insurance actually at all and we now have to pay $150 dollars out of pocket. We were busy at the time and didn't have the time to deal with issue or talk to them right then, so we decided to call them later to dispute this issue as it seemed a little fishy. Then today, just 4 days since they called us last, they called us again saying that we owed them $150 and if we don't pay ASAP they will increase it to $500. When I tried to explain to person we spoke with that we were told the insurance was not only accepted by covered it at 100% several times, she then started talking down to me explaining as though I was a six year old child trying to explain deductibles to me all while failing to realize their is no deductible on his health plan. So after having enough of this employee try to poorly describe what deductibles are to me for a plan that has none so it's not relevant at all, I thanked her time and told her I would go above her head to speak to someone who actually knows what's going on. After this pathetic attempt at customer service from the location, we contacted corporate who immediately made sure they understood our situation and would do everything in their power to resolve it as quickly as possible. They forwarded the information to the director for review and we are waiting to hear back. The only reason I am adding a second star is because the corporate customer service was polite, friendly, and wanting to help as opposed to the absolutely arrogant attitude of the employee we spoke to at this specific location.

The previous 2.2 years I've done therapy at 4 places with one of them having to be water therapy due to the complexity of injuries. Two of the other 3 therapy locations actually hurt me by not understanding and adjusting their PT methods even after I advised each one of them their process was causing needless pain & imagined damage due to level of pain. I would go to therapy and need 4 days of rest before I could return. Waste of time,$, and my wellness. The water therapy place basically quit servicing me bc I wasn't showing enough improvement which told me they had no idea what they were doing bc it was to be a pre-surgery PT to better my surgery outcome & better recovery time. My doctor even had to called to advise them they we going about it wrong. idiots. Now it's April 2023 with hopefully my last surgery scheduled for June 2nd. Dr. Again wanted 8 weeks Pre-surgery PT. I checked out ATI PHYSICAL THERAPY IN OAK FOREST. After visiting the regional manager & head therapist Jill at ATI in OakForest. I immediately had good vibes at initial consultation. I'm currently down to my last 2 therapy sessions before surgery. In 7 weeks my advancement with ATI in Oak Forest has done more for me and actually increased my overall strength & stability than what I had gained in last 2.2 YEARS! I am not remotely exaggeration!. this is how it is supposed to be! The atmosphere is inviting and wonderful. Any person of any age with any type of injury or disability will immediately feel comfortable while advancing there recovery goals. I'm in the best shape I have been since my accident in December 2020. I actually look forward to my surgery and returning to ATI IN OAK FOREST for my recovery. My doctor said my recovery will be a Minimum of 12 weeks. I was fortunate enough to run into a couple of gentlemen clients at ATI therapy. I did not know what they were there for at the time. I soon found out they are having the same surgery as I. I could not tell that either one were injured/had surgery or doing PT recovery. They both were 5 to 10 years older than me. They were moving about freely with one of them actually having their final therapy session after ONLY 6 weeks. So needless to say, I'm excited to have the surgery, excited at the potential of my recovery time being half of what the doctor said it could possibly be, and elated that I will be able to return to work after 2 1/2 years. All the employees there are extremely professional with somewhat of a personal touch if you choose to converse. However, if you choose to get in to do your work and get out asap, they will help you. They all have a hands-on approach that monitors your safety and advancement. THEY LISTEN TO YOUR ISSUES if any, and help you continue with your advancement. They also do a wonderful job recording your advancement so you never hurt yourself by trying to do too much too soon. They are absolutely everything I would look for in a physical therapy business. I will absolutely go there for my post surgery recovery. I highly advise all who want to recover properly in a GREAT ENVIROMENT to go to ATI. Especially in Oak Forest ! Their team from Top to Bottom all work as if one in the same therapist. You would never know that the non therapist associates weren't therapist. They had me covered 24/7 no matter who was advising or monitoring me. They will all do what is best for you regardless of the effort. Sometimes Physical therapy can have repetitive exercises. Most Physical therapy places will get used to you coming in and doing some if same exercises so they help and therapist essentially stop paying attention to you. They let you come in and work out without a concern for your safety or advancement. I would say this happens about 70% of the time. NOT AT ATI!!!. They care and monitor how you're doing every time you go and throughout your every therapy session every time. All 5 of the employees I've had the pleasure to work with have shown extra competence and confidence while adjusting to your needs. Jill, Sarah, Angela, Tollie, and my guy Eric are superb! I would give them a 10 out of a scale one to five. Never have they wavered or been less than professional with the ability to be pleasant for your comfortability. Truly, the BEST Physical therapy place I have ever been! Best injury recovery I've ever experience. If you need physical therapy please call ATI at 70&-224-2555. I highly recommend their Oak Forest location at Cicero & 159th st next to Starbucks. Again, Jill, Sarah, Tollie, Eric, and Angela are absolutely large & in concerned charge of all recovery issues. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery. If you honestly wanna get better in a manner you may even enjoy, go see ATI anywhere, but especially at Oak Forest because they ROCK RECOVERY the right way every time.

#19/2024 After having a major leg bypass and a two toe…read moreamputation at the University of Chicago and Hyde Park Illinois main campus I was not equipped to head home just yet because my leg was not cooperating for the stairs that we're going to be needed. I chose Elevate Care Center and Palos heights because it wasn't too far from home and the reviews on Google were good the one review on Yelp I just kind of laughed at. Elevate care centers are basically a group of rehab and nursing homes managed by a corporation who are buying older facilities and remodeling them and doing a whole lot more they're not brand new built from the ground places. This location in Palos heights Illinois in the Chicago suburbs is basically once known as The park Villa nursing home Center. They added on a few years back to the rehab part you can see the difference as you come through between the old building and the new building. Is it still a nursing home for the most part with long-term care and long-term rehab but they have branched out into short-term rehab. The rehab rooms are quite nice they have very good air conditioning units I can say there were some very very hot days and did a killer job cooling the room.. they also have refrigerators in the room. The only thing they don't have is a microwave but there is a microwave you can use by the dining area community dining areas they call it. Through the most part the staff is quite cordial. Although they're a little limited sometimes on the night shift it is possible you will push the button to get a CNA and have to wait a little while depending on what area of the building they're in. It happens in the post covid world. The nurses are fairly thorough they get your medicines dispensed in a timely manner each throughout the day and night if need. You're assigned to Doctor who basically just oversees your pills and looks over things and reports you don't really consider him a main doctor but he just kind of the doctor that's there at the facility. The TVs are really nice only problem is they're not high-def here in 2024 LOL. They're a little staticky but it is what it is. There's a decent choice of channels for the most part though. There are no showers in the rooms except for a couple of the older units you have basically community showers you're allowed to showers a week. But the bathrooms are very nice good sink good water pressure. The cleaning crew comes in once a day or every other day and gets the floor and supplies garbage cans ETC. if you happen to need your sheets change she just asked one of the nurses during the day and they will. The wound care team is very good also they basically changed my dressings as needed about every 3 days which was fine they did a very good job two days during the week except the weekend. Clean the wounds and the stitches and everything so I had no trouble as far as I went. The food's good it's not great all the time you get a menu and it pretty much tells you what you're going to get. The nice thing is though there's food delivery nearby you can call out and have it delivered I did a few times Pizza, Jimmy John's, and dad brought me a Italian beef one day. My sister went to the store for me I gave her a list so I was able to have Doritos and yogurt cottage cheese diet Dr pepper and stuff like that if I needed not having to waste a bunch of money on the vending machines. As I said it's a decent place it's not perfect they have their hiccups here and there but for the most part they do what they can and as for short-term rehab I was only in there a little over a week I didn't have many problems. They keep up on your appointments as long as you let them know when they are they weren't able to arrange a medical car for me on the day I had to go back to Hyde Park Illinois but the head of nursing Don director of nursing did give me an Uber, and because I had some trouble here and there they had somebody escort me and go with me on that day too so that was very professional. But I will definitely say is the PT and the OT team are very good and thorough they will get you bring you and get you moving which is a good thing and that's what I needed was leg strengthening and they worked with me so when I went home I was able to climb the stairs. I have eight stairs leading upstairs and I have seven stairs leading downstairs from the hallway. So all in all it's been pretty good and because of the fact that my left leg is not in the greatest of shape I may have to repeat the process again I would probably pick here yet again. If I needed rehab. So basically it's really three and a half stars but when I look at everything even with the little hiccups here and there I bumped it up to four stars because I didn't like seeing the one star and the reason as to why this guy was complaining

My great aunt who never complains, immedicately asked for us to get her out of there after tranistioning to the long term care side. She was there for 4 very long months. Worst care experience witnessed. Do not send your loved ones here.

To put it into perspective, it was 7 months post surgery before I could even walk on a treadmill. By the time I got to Dr. Gus, I thought I was done being active even though I was just in my mid 20s. But through treatments with Dr. Gus and Apllied Wellness's feasible Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatments, I was able to become more than active again as a healthy, athletic adult. Moving forward as a patient at Applied Wellness, one is able to maintain an upkeep of their health through the blood tests one can get. Typically, if you go to your general doctor for blood work, it could take months before hearing back the results. Also, in my personal experience, the results come back via mail saying to just take more blood tests. When getting your blood work done at Applied Wellness, Dr. Gus will physically review the results with you there showing you what's going on with your blood and then go over a proactive plan of attack for any issues at hand. The icing on the cake is Dr. Gus's vast knowledge on nutrition. My eating habits have taken a complete 360 degree turn for the better so I have been able to change my life around for the long-lasting improvement. For when I was in college playing football, I just thought I could eat whatever I wanted because I was active and still had a youthful metabolism. I just lacked the overall proper nutritional knowledge. Dr. Gus will share with you the knowledge to turn your eating lifestyle for the better.

Dr. Gus was recommended to us by a member of our same church who told us what a wonderful doctor he was and how his nutritional and health based treatments significantly improved his medical condition. My son started meeting with Dr. Gus twice weekly for hyperbaric oxygen treatments to help improve his immune system and monthly with Dr. Gus for chiropractic treatments. Within 1-2 months of his initial appointment, my son's speech significantly improved in both the quantity of language that he used and in the complexity of his language. Jared has also regular blood tests to check his blood flow and levels of oxidation in order to make sure my son's body is properly absorbing the vitamins and minerals he was taking. Two years later my son continues to improve in his use of spontaneous language and overall physical development. I was so impressed with my son's improvement that I also started receiving chiropractic treatments and nutritional based therapy from Dr. Gus, and in turn, my overall energy level has also made significant improvements. Dr. Gus is very easy to talk with and truly listens to the concerns of his patients. When both my son and I had blood tests performed, Dr. Gus fully went over the results with us and actually showed these results on screen. That way I could see both the positive and negative areas so a good treatment protocol can be started. That really made a difference with me. You can tell that Dr. Gus truly cares about his patients and he also lives what he believes. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Gus and the Applied Wellness Center.
