Lino started Speech Therapy through Early Intervention in January 2025. At that time, he was using…read moresingle words, able to name pictures here and there, but couldn't even say "help" when I could see he was asking for it in his own way. His patience was short, which made communication tough. He also had delays with motor skills. He could hold utensils and knew they were for eating--he would bring them to his mouth--but he wasn't able to hold them strongly or in the correct way. After months of practice and support, he's now using utensils just fine, and I'm so proud of how far he's come. He began receiving Speech Therapy-Grace, Occupational Therapy-Madelyn, and Developmental Therapy-Shirley once a week. After 8 months of consistent therapy, the progress has been incredible. Lino is now able to make sentences, loves to sing, and can clearly say what he wants. His play skills have also grown--he enjoys playing with others and now involves people around him, which has been wonderful to see. We are especially grateful to his therapist, who has shown how much they truly care about Lino. The patience, dedication, and encouragement they've given him (and us as parents) mean so much. They don't just teach--they celebrate every small win with us, and that has made all the difference. I was referred to Leep Forward after the diagnosis and what a difference! My son is more engaged, has positive peer interaction, and is talking a mile a minute. His favorite game is pointing out letters and sounding them out and making words. Lorell and the staff really helped me to understand my son's condition, referred me to an Occupational and Speech Therapist, and host monthly seminars on child development. A year ago I was waiting for a "breakthrough", a sign that my son was on the right path and would be ok. I've spoken with the director & told her how unprofessional Jenna is & how rude she is. Today I received a call that they are dropping my son from the program because me & Jenna got into an argument once again because she called threatening to pause my son services. As far as the school itself I haven't seen much progress with my son, I've asked numerous times to speak with his other therapists to see what's going on , the only person that cared really was his BCBA Amanda, she's the only one who follows up with me & shows she really care about the kiddos.
