Texas Art Supply is my favorite art store, and it's HUGE! They have an incredible selection of…read moresupplies for all kinds of art and crafting projects. I've come here for children's art supplies, gifts, and paintbrushes. Their paintbrush selection is fantastic--I've used some for painting and even repurposed others for makeup, and they've all worked great. They carry everything you could possibly need: brushes, paint, canvases, drawing supplies like pencils, pens, chalk, and charcoal, and a huge variety of crafting materials. You'll find jewelry-making supplies, sand art, glitter, stencils, scrapbooking items, face paint, gold leaf, and even supplies for sculpture. The store is well-organized, and the staff is always helpful if you need to find something or have questions. It's a place where you can find inspiration for any creative project. Love this place; I highly recommend checking it out!

I always have trouble finding someone able to help or someone knowledgeable about their products. Sometimes they walk right past you just to avoid you. What kind of customer service is this? this last time really made me upset. I went in wanting to get some supplies and there was no one to help. They were all pretending to be busy on the other side of the school. And when I will try and go and approach one they seem to rush off somewhere else, again, pretending to be busy.. And there's one creepy looking guy in the back paper section. I've known him for years. He always just stands around and pretends to look busy and just stares at you very strange and weird. He never offers to help or anything. According to all these other reviews, it looks like they all have experienced the same situation with this guy. Who is he? Why is he like that? And why would the staff member park her neon green SUV in the handicap space. I see it park like that all the time ?!?

I came to Michael's on Dacoma Street because that's the only store that carried a specific frame that I was looking for. The employee was friendly and helpful. I didn't have any issues during my online pick up. The store was clean and lots of open space from where I was looking at. Because it was close to closing time, I didn't get a chance to look around. Driving here from the Loop to 290 was tricky. I had to study the turning lanes prior to driving here. The parking lot is huge. There are other nice stores and an Asian buffet next door. So, I am likely to return for some exploring and shopping at Michael's Dacoma.

I've seen those expensive art ones locked up, but not several of the cheaper brands. They had a lot of cute hobby equipment, but the prices were outrageously high. They didn't have much in the way of journaling and planners, which sucked, because their sticker collection was okay. Their Christmas decorations were very nice, and they were bringing out some of the Valentine's stuff already. I feel like you could get a good deal with their seasonal items, but like your everyday hobby, like coloring, painting, etc., you get robbed by them. Go to them for the cute seasonal stuff, not for the hobby stuff.
