Now, I'm no expert at painting, but I appreciated how difficult it was to get the colors, shadows, lighting, textures, and movement right. I enjoyed mixing colors and trying my best to paint the right strokes. Our instructor, Juan, made painting approachable and fun. He brought humor to our class as well. There were other staff helping to make sure people didn't run out of paint colors, especially yellow and white for this painting. This was still a timed class so we didn't have a ton of time to learn exactly how to paint certain parts right. Overall, everyone's paintings came out great, with each person bringing their own take on the prototype painting. Like other painting classes, you can bring drinks and snacks. But, I didn't eat anything because I was so focused on the painting. I would recommend eating prior to the event. As a group activity, this is great as a team bonding and relaxation experience. I would definitely come again with friends or family.

The instructors are very nice and helpful. You get an intro and two hours to complete & glaze your piece. They fire your pieces for you, and I've never been disappointed with the outcome. They've recently started doing handbuilding 6-week series that I wish I could be apart of, but unfortunately as of now it's on Sundays in the middle of the day, and I frequently work weekends during that time. If they offered a weekday handbuilding series, I would be all over that like white on rice.

She emphasized to me that the chairs were cracked and to be very careful with them. Even going as far as to ask me if I preferred for her to switch out a sturdier chair for me. Ok, I am not a thin person, but certainly she has seen other people that are big in her lifetime. There was another big person at the class, but she only warned me about her cracked chairs. The vessels for the terrariums were really extra small. I managed to get the only normal sized bowl. My sister had to get a tiny one. For $40 the vessels should have been bigger. Or allow you to make two. Brittany asked everyone what was the first step to put together a terrarium and I said the rocks. She said no, it is the sand. The brochure she handed out at the end of the night also said to start with a base of rocks. If you want to have customers, be prepared to have all shapes, sizes and colors. If you are not open to that, do not expect return customers. I love this kind of stuff but I will not be back. Can't stop thinking how she made me feel like I was so huge, her chairs would break. We drove an hour in the rain to get there and 30 minutes before it started they sent me a cancelation notice. They said they had booked a large group and forgot about it. We were in the parking lot getting ready to go in and there was no big party starting. This was my test with my granddaughter and then had planned to bring all 20 folks from my department. Lillian handled our calculations and guided us through the process with so much care and attentiveness. The breakdown of perfumes and colognes was surprisingly fascinating. We learned about the origins of different scent families, how fragrances are structured, and even some unexpected facts... like the fact that amber comes from the digestive tract of a sperm whale. Definitely didn't need to know that, but it made for a great laugh. The space itself is clean, sophisticated, and beautifully designed, which made the whole experience feel elevated. Overall, I absolutely loved the class and the team's attentiveness. I can't wait to bring my mother when she visits -- I know she'll enjoy it just as much.

What a fun time! We selected the "Weekday Afternoon DIY Fragrance Design". You can select candle or…read moreperfume making. My daughter & I chose the make your personal perfume scent. She & I were the only people in attendance on a weekday afternoon. Before you start, you select which size (ounces) perfume you want to make; 10ml is the default but you can upgrade to a larger size & pay an up-charge. Each person makes their own scent choosing 1-3 scents for each category of base, middle, & top. We had 24 different scents to smell and choose from. The Love & Make employee provides composition guidelines & suggestions on scent quantities. After you make all your scent selections, the worker does the final "math" to tell you quantities of each scent. You measure out each scent & finally mix them all together to create your final scent. I'll admit, the worker was not very enthusiastic while helping us. Yes we were the only participants that day but it would have been nice if she had a little bit of "perkiness" while working with us. Nonetheless, the two of us enjoyed each other's company & enjoyed the unique experience. I would definitely return & bring a few more people to have a group experience. I highly recommend the experience! The overall experience was a 5. However, I will rate it 4 because customer interaction for this type of experience is important. Things to Note: - Weekday afternoon sessions are only 45 minutes, $40 vs weekday evenings & weekend sessions are 90 minutes, $75. - Weekday 45 minute sessions have less scents to choose from BUT 24 is still a good amount. - The class is BYOB! - Parking lot across the street is a "pay-by-phone/app".

I started out in the beginner class with no previous experience and quickly learned the basics. The beginner class is a reasonable $170 for a 5 week session and you can count on coming home with 6+ pieces. Your final class will be a potluck, work reveal and Raku firing. John and Judy allowed me to take the beginner class for a few sessions until I was confident enough to move forward to the intermediate. I'm currently taking 3 month intermediate sessions with the option of extra studio time on Saturdays for $5. I love to come to class and unwind on Monday nights after a long day; playing with clay is really a form of therapy. The owners are there to assist you hands-on and help you achieve the best result (as are some of your classmates that have been students here for many years). John and Judy often have a different approach to their craft, which is beneficial in that you're exposed to more than one perspective and technique. The best advice that I can give is to eliminate your expectations. Almost every piece you make will look different than you envisioned, but you'll learn to love the unpredictability.

The intuitive painting class is not about cookie cutter techniques, nor perfect art composition - it truly is about allowing your own creativity to surface. When I arrived I was taken by the wonderful atmosphere in Cherie's studio. Everywhere you turned there was something else that was interesting and fun to look at. Cherie herself made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. I was amazed at how quickly the weekend passed and how re-charged I felt at the end. I look forward to signing up for more of Cherie's classes through out the year.
