The staff was so helpful with the process as we didn't know what we were doing. They walked us through each step and gave us a lot of choices for colors and also images for inspiration. We took over 3 hours to create our boards and we were all super happy with the final product. They close at 5pm on Sundays but we ended up there much later completing our projects and we never felt rushed. Thank you, Craftworx! The studio is bright and clean and welcoming. They service wine and drinks and snacks! There are so many different projects to choose from! We can't wait to pick up our dry resin boards (they have to sit and dry for a few days) and we are already planning our next projects!

Went here for pottery painting. The night before I looked up on their website to check if they…read moreaccepted walk-ins b/c when searching up on Google their name was listed as only "Cordovan Art School" (no pottery parlor). The website stated in bold letters "walk-ins always welcome". However, when I got to the store they had a sign posted on the door saying walk-ins were only allowed from 4:30 to 7:00. This was listed nowhere on the website. Quite inconvenient. As far as paint quality goes, pretty decent. They had a variety of brushes and tools for painting and they gave visuals of how each color bakes with 1, 2, and 3 coats so you have a good idea of how your piece will turn out. I was very disappointed with the finished product after glazing though. There were speckles of colors that I did not have anywhere in my piece and smudges (maybe from overcrowding the kiln? Not sure). Also, I believe they did not correctly glaze my piece as there appeared to be milky drips baked onto my piece that I assume to be extra glaze that dripped down and baked when firing. Quite disheartening as I took the entire 4:30-7:00 time to paint my piece and make it perfect only for it to be messed up during the firing process. The staff were fairly nice except for who I assume to be the owner. The day I went to paint with friends (unaware of the time rule because it wasn't on the website) we arrived at 3:30. The front of the store which featured tables, paint, and pottery pieces was completely empty. So, my friend decided just to ask if we could paint earlier since it was not too far from the walk-in hours (if not, no harm done. Just worth a shot to ask). The owner sharply responded with "No. Absolutely not." with some other explanations about camp. We were totally fine with being told no (again no harm done just worth a shot), but a nicer tone would have been appreciated. Another rude interaction was when I went to pick up my piece. My mother decided to come with me as she had been wanting to paint pottery and wanted to check out the studio. When the owner was asked about their opening hours by my mother (who is hard of sight and who did not get a chance to read the door since I opened it for her), she responded "It's on the door." (referring to the sign posted on printer paper) in a harsh, belittling tone. While I do get it can be frustrating to be asked a question when you have a sign, it does not take much effort to simply answer when asked. She also explained how the new hours were because the children were in camp and how pottery painters were not the priority (although pottery parlor is half of their name so a little misleading). Overall, not a great experience. Don't think I would revisit.

She's 11 and very talented in drawing anime already, and I was hoping the class would broaden her horizons. After one week of camp, she brought home a total of THREE pictures - the mediums were paper, canvas, watercolor, pen, and pencil. They pretty much taught them to copy pictures of characters from Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and Demon Slayer... drawing anime characters is not the same as drawing manga. My daughter also confirmed that they didn't learn a single thing about manga art. While I loved the artwork she brought back, it was very similar to things she produces at home. I cannot wrap my head around what I paid $339 for. She went to a different camp every week in the Summer of 2022, from volleyball to coding, and even another art camp at Sugar Land Art Center & Gallery that cost half as much. Cordovan was the most expensive camp we sent her to, but the least rewarding. I would not send her again.

The online booking was super easy to make and I signed my friend and I up for an individual wheel throwing lesson for 2 people. The studio has its own parking lot and is beautifully decorated. I love the fridge with the complimentary drinks! I've never been to a pottery studio that offers this as an amenity and it was amazing. I had originally booked with Mimi who wasn't able to make it and ended up getting a lesson from Abbie, one of the owners of HTX Clay. Abbie was a great teacher! I've taken pottery classes before but it was my friend's first time. We each made 3 pieces in the 2 hour class and picked 2 pieces to fire and glaze. The glaze selection here is great and I'm excited to see how our pieces turn out! I wish this place existed when I still lived in Houston! I would have loved to get a membership here. One thing that I found unique compared to other studios I've been to is that clay experience isn't required to get a membership and on-demand education is included.

We made a reservation for five people, but two canceled the night before and only three total showed up. Hawaii Fluid Art welcomed the three of us without any pushback for the two that didn't show up. I appreciated the great customer service and flexibility/understanding. The colors, energy, and vibe inside of the studio is amazing! You walk in and you just feel so elevated! There were various different shapes and sizes of charcuterie boards to select from which was fun! I wasn't expecting there to be a butterfly and I totally chose it! Victor was EXTREMELY patient with us as we selected our colors and art style. He made recommendations based on which pieces of the hanging art we liked to assist us with the color selection process and made recommendations of what colors might work well together and which colors to select in matte versus metallic. The one thing that I didn't realize about the charcuterie board class, is that the only part you get to participate in as a customer, is the paint part. The store staff do all the resin on your behalf two days later, after the paint dries. We were interested in a resin class, so when we found this out, we were disappointed that we didn't get to use the resin ourselves. I think it would also be helpful to have a tutorial on how to pour the paint into the cup layer by layer to achieve the design that you want on your item. For example, I was going for more of a sunset vibe, so I probably could've poured more paint into my cup for each layer. And because my board surface area was a little bit smaller, I did not end up using all the paint in my cup. I originally poured the paint into my cup in layers in color order of a sunset but was instructed to pour the paint layers more randomly so the second half of my layers in the cup, we're not in sunset color order. So, because I didn't end up using all the paint, I got only the random colors on my board instead of the sunset colors at the beginning/in the bottom of the cup :( Overall, I love the idea of this class and the classroom setting and Victor! Communication and structure in the form of instructional guidance at the beginning of the class would be greatly beneficial to ensure that everybody understands what they're doing and leaves loving their design!

There's ample space, glazes, wheels, kilns. Whether you're new to the wheel or an experienced hand builder, you'll love it here. They hold monthly events where you can do special firing, such as raku & they offer one time wheel. I have worked with Clay for over 15 years, and I recently came back to it through Oak knoll. In dealing with a dexterity issue, Dani, my instructor, and Amy created tools to assist me with learning and mastering the wheel. I've taken a short break as my dexterity issues have persisted, but I'll never forget their kindness and accommodations. Also, everyone I've met through classes has been extremely nice. It's a wonderful environment.

Purchased three groupons for my sister birthday the day of her birthday. We were late due to…read moretraffic, rain and not being from the Katy area. Michelle our instructor was understanding in these matters and she jugged both the students who were their on time, who were 15 mins into their paintings and my family who were settling in. Michelle got us up to speed within 10 mins of our arrival. The example painting was very intimidating for first timers, but Michelle dissected each section of the example painting with efficiency but realistic tips and tricks. She was super helpful in aiding us with aspects that were to scary to attempt on our own. Their was a 5 minute break were you could sip and snack, but we mostly kept painting because it fun and relaxing. Top 40 hits was playing in the background which allow me to relax even more, and sing lowly the lyrics. Overall we had a blast. Recommendations: wear clothes you can get paint on, you have an apron, but things happen. Have a small bag with you, big hand bags take up space under the table. If you have a Groupon deal, print it before you come. Bring a small sitting pillow, the old backside gets numb when you sit for 2 hours on small plastic stool. Its a unisex restroom, go easy on the liquids. Have a protective cloth and space in your car for transport of your masterpiece after. All in all we had a grand time.

I decided to sign up for the course at the Chimney Rock location, and I'm glad I did. There's…read morenothing like receiving hands on experience prior to being thrown to the wolves. Completing the curriculum gives the aspiring bartender a leg up after securing their first bartending gig. They'll teach you liquor history, countless recipes, customer service, cleanliness, and how to perform efficiently under pressure. Students will find out early on that if they're not serious about learning the art of bartending, this class will not be a cakewalk. You have to study and practice constantly. If I remember correctly, the instructors here had a combined 40 years experience behind the bar. So they're experts in the field. They know what makes a competent bartender. All students have to prove that they've put in the work in and out of class. If they don't, they'll be exposed come test time. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. I noticed at the beginning, the owner (Jim) was very nice while trying to solicit my enrollment. After I was in, he really had little or nothing to say to anyone. It was like two totally different people. However, he does run a great business because the classes stay full. If anyone is looking to become a bartender, I'd definitely recommend coming here. Nathan was my primary instructor and he did a marvelous job with us. He was knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and answered any questions we tossed his way.
