Two ladies came up and they each took one of my kids (5 and 3). Neither spoke much English but I never mind that. The woman who cut my daughter's hair was FAST and good. She even styled my daughter's hair like mine with a cute clip and everything (my daughter was requesting hair "like Mommy"). The woman who cut my son's was a tad bit slower but I blame how much my son was moving around. Still she gave him a very handsome hair cut and cleaned up the edges nicely. Cuts are $14 and we were outta there before 7. I went back the very next day in the afternoon for my oldest son (8). Again, they were deserted and the lady who had my daughter the day before had my son this time. Again, super fast and he looked super handsome. We were out in less than 20 minutes. I honestly have no idea what the cleanliness complaints are about. Both times I went, everything was very orderly and nice. No hair on the floor or things like that. They have two ride-ons that are only a quarter each. These are great distractions if you actually find yourself having to wait so make sure you bring a couple quarters with you! Otherwise, the big train in the middle seems to keep most kids quite happy. I will definitely be back for future cuts for my children and recommend it for fast and good service.

As first timers we had a couple questions so after 15 mins of standing there, my wife tells one of the ladies that she had a few questions before deciding to cut our daughters hair there... she just looked at my wife and told her to take a seat and wait......... no questions were answered and they didn't seem to mind that we left, especially with the gestures that they made as we walked out!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Only gave it 1 star to write this review because if I could I'd give it zero star. Never Again!!! Wow I'm surprised that places like this are still up and running. How do customers tolerate this treatment from businesses?! Shameful.

I desperately needed to take my son for a haircut and had MLK Day off from work. Naturally, most…read moresalons are not only closed on holidays but closed on Mondays so I was happy to get an appointment at Cookie Cutters. I was not greeted at the front desk upon entrance as the only two ladies there were cutting hair but I went ahead and began filling out the empty forms on the desk. At first glance I was not impressed by the appearance of the salon. In comparison to other child salons it was a little drab. My son, however, had a blast playing in the little playground in the waiting area and I was happy to see him running around until he was called for his haircut. I sat my son at the Lightning McQueen car he had been eyeing since we arrived but was disappointed to find that it didn't work. As any toddler would, he wanted to see if another chair worked and the lady told him that none of the chairs worked to just sit and be patient. I showed the lady his usual haircut and she began working on it every once in a while telling me how difficult this haircut is for children. I've been cutting his hair exactly the same way since his first haircut so I was unsure why she had to continue repeating it's difficulty level. For the first time since his earlier haircuts my son seemed very uncomfortable getting his hair cut and the lady simply kept telling him that it was due to the cut I had selected (again, he's always gotten the same cut and never had an issue). At one point during the haircut the lady had walked to another station to look for a different tool and my son (who had been desperately trying to get the fallen cut hairs out of the face mask he was wearing) took his mask off to wipe the hairs out from behind the mask. I understand that COVID rules and guidelines are a thing during this time but I'm usually able to take off my toddler's mask at points during his haircut to get a good tape done (I wasn't here). As the lady was walking back I brushed off the last of the hairs from the mask and put it back on his face when I heard her start talking to the other older lady about masks and protection and people's health. No offense lady but I would rather get the stray hairs out of my healthy son's nostrils for 2 seconds than to allow him to continue not only being uncomfortable from the haircut but also from the hairs he was inhaling and sneezing from. I was happy when the haircut was finally over as it didn't seem like the best experience for my son but I will admit that the haircut looked nice! At the end of each haircut I always treat my son to a little car sold by the shop. This salon sold small hot wheels cars that you can normally find at Publix for $1 or Walmart for 89 cents. When I paid I realized the car was $5! What!? I've never paid that much for a salon toy much less a toy that I know is worth not even a dollar! And because I bought the toy my son was not offered a balloon or lolipop which is standard at all kids salons i've been to in the past (and this place had balloons!) Whatever...not a big deal. I'm not going to say my experience was horrible because it was not at all and my son's haircut looks great, however, it just wasn't the best overall. I think if the seats would at least work and the employees would be a little more friendly this place could be better.

The location for this salon is within a sketchy shopping center right behind FIU, next to the Florida Turnpike. It's easily accessible, but try to make it there before the horrendous Miami rush hour traffic. The staff/techs at Lotus are all very nice and welcoming, but they speak mostly Spanish. Translators highly recommended. The nail techs specifically are excellent but they're VERY talkative and take longer than your average nail tech to finish a manicure/pedicure. I came with a friend and she had to wait almost two hours for my nail tech to be done with me for her to take her turn - mind you, they're fully staffed with three nail techs at a time. If you have the time and the patience though, it is definitely worth it. I don't think you can find a cheaper mani/pedi anywhere in Miami that's not done out of some Cuban lady's kitchen in Hialeah. Downside: techs take forever and they play the most depressing Latin love songs from the 90's (that's the legit station name btw). Other than that, I recommend it if you're looking for the best mani/pedi for the cheapest price.
