Her bangs were cut so short that she tried to cover her error by adding more hair which just made it worse. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I walked out of this place crying. Luz is the most unprofessional person I have come across. We had an appointment at 1:15pm. We arrived at 1:00pm. We waited like normal understandably I know some cuts take longer because of a child's age. But at 1:40pm Luz told me to sit my son down. Then had him get off the chair to cut another child's hair who arrived at 1:30pm. Normally if the other person had an appointment I would understand. But not only did Luz tell me they were next with no appointment, she said she would "do me the favor" of cutting my sons hair after she cut that child's hair and after she ate lunch because she hadn't eaten. I showed her the confirmation of my appointment and she said that she was very busy and that it was my fault for not choosing a specific person to cut my son's hair. The other person who was working very sweetly said she was almost done and would cut my son's hair but after that interaction with Luz I rather go elsewhere. On another note the cleanliness of this place is atrocious. read more

Took my son for his first haircut and no regrets. I called the day before and made an appointment. Once I was there My son was sitting in one of their "cars" pretty fast. He was not the easiest of customers, not at all, but damn was Patricia patient. He went from long baby hair to short hair and despite his not-best behavior it came out great. Suffice to say I am pretty confident his second hair cut will also be here. Btw, they have TVs with Netflix, balloons, candies... everything you can imagine to make the experience as good as possible. read more

ZERO stars. I just left this venue after getting a ridiculous haircut on both my son and daughter. The service is a disgrace. When I told the service provider (Luvy) , she did nothing to remediate the issue and proceeded to treat me with attitude and even attempted to charge me an additional $10 on top of the $55 for the service. I am absolutely disappointed and my children look ridiculous with the very unprofessional haircuts received. Luvy is extremely unprofessional and has no idea how to work with children. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to give me their information. Stay away from this place!!! read more

I've been going to this place for a while and each time my kids get a haircut, the haircut is incredibly uneven. I don't expect haircuts to be perfect with kids since kids can move around a lot, but my kids were pretty still during their haircut and both of their haircuts were very sloppy. That's honestly not the main reason why I won't be going back to this place. The employees are incredibly apathetic and look like they absolutely hate their jobs. They are borderline rude, too, and I always feel like I'm not welcome. I understand that everybody's job can be overwhelming at times but I have been to this place when it was empty and was met with a very similar attitude. read more

I desperately needed to take my son for a haircut and had MLK Day off from work. Naturally, most salons are not only closed on holidays but closed on Mondays so I was happy to get an appointment at Cookie Cutters. I was not greeted at the front desk upon entrance as the only two ladies there were cutting hair but I went ahead and began filling out the empty forms on the desk. At first glance I was not impressed by the appearance of the salon. In comparison to other child salons it was a little drab. My son, however, had a blast playing in the little playground in the waiting area and I was happy to see him running around until he was called for his haircut. I sat my son at the Lightning McQueen car he had been eyeing since we arrived but was disappointed to find that it didn't work. As any toddler would, he wanted to see if another chair worked and the lady told him that none of the chairs worked to just sit and be patient. I showed the lady his usual haircut and she began working on it every once in a while telling me how difficult this haircut is for children. I've been cutting his hair exactly the same way since his first haircut so I was unsure why she had to continue repeating it's difficulty level. For the first time since his earlier haircuts my son seemed very uncomfortable getting his hair cut and the lady simply kept telling him that it was due to the cut I had selected (again, he's always gotten the same cut and never had an issue). At one point during the haircut the lady had walked to another station to look for a different tool and my son (who had been desperately trying to get the fallen cut hairs out of the face mask he was wearing) took his mask off to wipe the hairs out from behind the mask. I understand that COVID rules and guidelines are a thing during this time but I'm usually able to take off my toddler's mask at points during his haircut to get a good tape done (I wasn't here). As the lady was walking back I brushed off the last of the hairs from the mask and put it back on his face when I heard her start talking to the other older lady about masks and protection and people's health. No offense lady but I would rather get the stray hairs out of my healthy son's nostrils for 2 seconds than to allow him to continue not only being uncomfortable from the haircut but also from the hairs he was inhaling and sneezing from. I was happy when the haircut was finally over as it didn't seem like the best experience for my son but I will admit that the haircut looked nice! At the end of each haircut I always treat my son to a little car sold by the shop. This salon sold small hot wheels cars that you can normally find at Publix for $1 or Walmart for 89 cents. When I paid I realized the car was $5! What!? I've never paid that much for a salon toy much less a toy that I know is worth not even a dollar! And because I bought the toy my son was not offered a balloon or lolipop which is standard at all kids salons i've been to in the past (and this place had balloons!) Whatever...not a big deal. I'm not going to say my experience was horrible because it was not at all and my son's haircut looks great, however, it just wasn't the best overall. I think if the seats would at least work and the employees would be a little more friendly this place could be better. read more

The stylist was on her watch answering phone calls while trimming my baby's hair; she'd go to the back and come out, and it was honestly far from being a good customer service overall. First timer for my (almost 2yr old) son's 3rd haircut. I was unhappy with the last salon we took him to for the second haircut so decided to try a new place since he'll also be walking a wedding at the end of March. My husband took a Monday off of work and we decided to walk in since we had never been and figured it should be fine since people are working and kids are at school. We were greeted by the sweetest Hispanic hairdresser, Naile! I loved that she spoke Spanish and made my son so comfortable! She took her time and gave him a balloon and a little firetruck. Little Baby Bum was on one of the little TV's. He didn't want to sit in the little car so he sat on my husband's lap. He did so great considering he doesn't love getting a haircut! He let her wet his hair and brush it. He cringed at some moments (but ONLY some)! I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she delivered!! I'm ecstatic!!! When it came time to pay, she said if we buy a $20 gift card the haircut would be FREE (since it was 1pm on a Monday). You can use the gift card on the next visit or to buy any products/things from the salon. I said for sure I'll get the gift card! She even let him keep the little toy firetruck since he loved it so much. I'll be coming for the next haircut with her and for my daughter's 1st haircut as well. So happy to find such a great place!! Great place to get a cut for your kids! My two girls loved playing with everything! They had Netflix and toys to entertain my 1.5 year old and 2.5 year old girls while they got their haircut. There is a small playground to run around and slide down, as well as an interactive projection on the floor to play with. Plenty of interesting seat choices for them to use. My youngest wanted the Frozen blue car, while my oldest switched to the red race car. Other options are a hand, a bat mobile, and a Landspeeder. Although neither of them got a shampoo, they both loved the firetruck shampoo station and wall theme! read more

Yesterday I had the most horrible haircut experience with my four-year-old son. I specifically told the stylist that I wanted to keep his hair long, I just wanted to trim his bangs, around his ears, and near his neck and that I wanted cheese scissors only, but that the razor was OK for the lower part of his neck. The stylist did not listen to me and used the razor in multiple spots, including his ears and even scratched him in the process. His hair is completely uneven, The reason I keep it long is because he has cowlicks all over, and they are proofing out now and it just looks ridiculous. I took multiple pictures of how badly it looks, she used a ton of water to try and make it unnoticeable of how uneven it was, then tried to put gel on it and I was like absolutely not! She knew I wasn't happy, and offered me a $10 discount, it is not about the money but it should be absolutely free and someone needs to fix his hair! Also the stylist seemed nice enough, but she had one eye that was completely red and if it was pink eye I will lose my mind since medically she should not have been able to work. The salon itself was really cute and I would love to say we would come back, but I am extremely angry over how she completely did not listen to me and how horrible my sons hair looks now right before we are going out of town I wanted to take pictures. Initially scheduled a haircut with shampoo and blow dry ($29) but I had to modify the appt for a different date. When modifying, the system allows you to change the date/time, but not the service type. So my husband took our son, and explained to the lady that we no longer needed the shampoo service, instead we just needed a regular haircut ($24). The cut itself was not great, pretty mediocre, the back and sides lack definition. On top of it, the lady ended up charging my husband the $29, after he specifically told her we wanted just the regular haircut service. So she charged us for a cut with shampoo and blow dry, even though she did not shampoo or EVEN DRY my son's hair. My and was not aware of the prices for services, that's why he didn't say anything. But she was, and took advantage. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I rather make the drive to our previous local salon, The Children' Spa, or try the barbershop next door to Cookie Cutters. So do yourselves a favor and believe all the negative reviews. read more

I've been going to Cookie Cutters for the last 3 years and it hasn't been too bad. Today was terrible. I scheduled an appointment through their online booking system and selected the wash, cut, and blow dry for $24.95 (KidsCut). When I got there, LUVY, tells me that I did not have an appointment. When I showed her my confirmation email she finally found my daughter's name but said it was misspelled by 2 letters which is why she couldn't find her. Then when I told her that it was a wash, cut, and blow dry she seemed bothered. I was already not liking my experience. The icing on the cake was when I went to pay and she told me my total was $43. I immediately showed her the online booking system and how it says that a wash, cut, blow dry was $24.95. She told me that that information was wrong and that their prices went up years ago. When I told her that I have ALWAYS paid $24.95 with a blow dry, she seemed to not believe me. Then, when I gave her my credit card..the system was not working and she needed cash. I did not have cash, so I had to go to the ATM to take some out. When I came back with $60 (because that's all I was able to take out with the total being $43), she conveniently did not have change for me. At the end, when she noticed how bothered I was and that I wasn't about to hand over $60 for a $24.95 hair cut and blow dry, she found some change and did not charge me the blow dry. Needless to say, I will never be stepping foot at another Cookie Cutters again. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I had never seen my kids so happy to get a haircut and that made me even happier. They had time to play in the playground and the huge floor Ipad. I went to Cookie Cutters based on its reviews back in 2020 because my daughter needed a haircut badly after lockdown. I went with Luvy since many reviews mention how great she is. I am writing this review later than I should have just because I was on the fence, but I really need to alert others about her. Even though she was nice, professional, and my daughter was happy, she does not know how to give a basic haircut (at least for girls). When I got home, I noticed that she had horrible uneven ends. Her haircut was basic - no layers, bangs or complicated styling. I just wanted a straight cut for her, but the bottom end looked like a crooked smile. I've wanted to try them again with a different stylist, but something just tells me to stir away. No amount of marketing (they keep sending me coupons) could make me go back. My daughter's hair still looks uneven after months of going there. I'll be on the hunt for another salon STAT. read more

Ended up having to go to the barber shop next door where they were willing to help and did a terrific job. Definitely won't be going back to Luvy. I will not be going back to that place! Only one tv worked and that one just had a regular chair on it. Asked the attendant to put mickey on since that is what catches my boys attention every time ans said that she's sorry but she can only put on netflix. I asked the attendant to not use anything but scissors since I was only asking her to cut the tips at the back and the front NOTHING ELSE. She ended up leaving 1cm of hair on my sons face and using the machine to cut through he ears side and cut one of the sides wrong and now its not even I hate his haircut. Now there is nothing left to do but to wait till it grows out a little more and take him somewhere else where they can actually FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!! read more

The lady called Juana opened the door and told me they were closed ( she told me they closed at 6 and it was 5:40pm) she definitely didn't want to work! There was no one inside getting a haircut she was sitting in a chair on her phone. I left to the barber shop next door and gave my son a hair cut in less than 20 min. There was not a single person there and Juana cut my son's hair. She was on the phone when I got there and literally DID NOT SAY A SINGLE WORD the entire time we were there. It was awkward and uncomfortable because she didn't speak at all, not a single word, it was just me trying to keep my son calm. Only 2 pink balloons available and even though my son kept saying he wanted a balloon she didnt give him one, I had to grab one myself. She also put gel on my ONE YEAR OLD's hair which is completely unnecessary and she didn't even ask me before doing it. I've never been to a salon where the stylists are mute and rude - much less for a KID'S SALON. She wanted to put baby powder on my son - WTF ? No one does this and the hair cut was BAD - completely UNEVEN. This place is horrible and Juana should be fired immediately. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS PLACE. read more

My experience at this place didn't go so well. First, the prices they show online when you "book online" are not accurate. When I took my daughter in person I was told that a shampoo, cut and blowdry would be $45 instead of the $24.95 that is advertised online! My own hair doesn't even cost that much to cut, shampoo and blowdry. Second, there is one staff member that is very unprofessional. When I arrived, I waited behind a blue tape with a sign that says "wait here" to be seen and a female employee tells me and my daughter from across the room "are you just going to stand there?" This was the greeting I received. Very unprofessional. Especially considering the fact that most places make you wait upon entering so they can take safety measures PRIOR to you entering the space. My temperature was not taken, I was not asked to wash or sanitize my hands nor did they attempt to disinfect any of the areas we entered. Needless to say, it was my first and last time taking my daughter to this salon. Note to the owner, please train your staff on salon etiquette and how to greet clients because "are you just going to stand there?" isn't very welcoming. read more
