This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I must say it won't be my last. I ordered the Caramel Pecan Waffle with eggs and bacon with a side of hash brown. The star was the waffle...so fluffly and that sweet drizzled caramel and pecans added the umphed to it.VERY TASTY! My hubby orderd the regular pancakes which were humungous and tasty. The waiters were very helpful and friendly. read more

For pancakes, they are simply the best. I always forget how good their pancakes are, and then I come back and taste them again and I'm impressed every time. If you like home fried potatoes, then you will enjoy their "skillets". I like coming here with my semi-big family because there is so many options on the menu that everyone can find something (sometimes too many things) on the menu they want to try. Their orange juice is freshly squeezed and you can totally taste the difference. Portions are very generous so be prepared to take home or share. There is free coffee in the waiting area so that's always nice. There can be quite a wait though during popular hours so keep that in mind. read more

I was looking to having breakfast at BC Cafe at this location only to find that this place is now known as Kick Back Jack's. What's the difference? Nothing. It's the same. It even has the BC Cafe logo right below the name Kick Back Jack's. Heck, their menu even looks identical to BC's. So it really is one in the same. Before we entered, I had a wager with my wife on the over/under on the amount of horizontally-challenged people that were going to be in there. I picked over 5. I lost. The reason? Well, this restaurant, just like BC serves food that is just waaaaaay too much. I made the mistake of ordering 2 eggs and 3 pancakes. It's not enough for me. It's enough for Ethiopia. Seriously. The food is the typical american breakfast food so the taste is what you usually expect. It's good though. As for the service, I remember it used to be better. We had to wait about 10 mins just for someone to seat us. That just takes way too long. Plus, our waters didn't get refilled. If I was truly a resident of Ethiopia, I would've died of thirst. read more

Glad they're open at lunch. Our server, Ameila, was super friendly, and the food was great! Can't wait to go there during football season.

Not a good experience for us at all! Slow service...waited 15 mins before one of the 4 waiters that walked by, one finally stopped. Coffee refills were scarce. My waffle wasn't cook all the way through! Sent it back without getting a replacement by my request. THE SUGAR!!! Omg! Their coffe is great and stonge so I needed 8 of there stupid sicks of sugar!!!!! If there were 4 of us sitting at the table we would have had to have those stupid sticks refilled 40 times!! Get a dispensers like a real Restaurant!!! Fuck! And the container was disgusting dirty! My girlfriend's pancakes were burnt on one side.....nice! This place sucks and I'll never go here again....thank gebus I live in the OC and wont be near this shit hole again. oh and on our way out we seen a yelp sighn on the door, you'd think they'd clean their stuff and not burn the food or cook it enough when they are asking for reviews. read more

I was traveling by and thought this would be a cool place to eat on the 4th of July. Long story short, I ordered a basic two egg breakfast, to be specific it's called bacon and eggs off the menu(pict). The food was good, restaurant was roomy and I guess the decor was ok. Waitress was ok, i think they were closing in half hour so she left the check on the table(hint maybe). I didn't really care for the $13.5 breakfast plate. I think a little pricey for a basic two egg breakfast. Anyway this was my experience and opinion. read more

Ever been to place where you just feel like, WOW i need to leave her a big fat tip before you even finish your meal? This is definitely one of em, I'll tell you why in a second... If I can sum this place up in a phrase, breakfast made THE RIGHT WAY BC CAFE kick back jacks restaurant easily is my favorite place for breakfast. hands down. If I can compare a restaurant similar to it, it would be Denny's with steroids. hahah and to top it off, every breakfast comes with a small juice... your choice of pineapple, tomato, cranberry, or orange. All freshly squeezed! I ordered myself a Jack's special, which is a mixed a mountain of potatoes, eggs over easy, 2 turkey sausages, and a big fat crispy pancake.... ALL HOMEMADE! To my surprise, the pancake was so gigantic... that its enough to feed the green giant (the one who sponsors corn and peas canned), like seriously. It would be way too big for you or me or an average joe... I could probably play frisbee with this pancake with enough twirl haha! What i really like about their food here is there is no preservatives, no frozen food, no copycat food chain crap, no powered crap, no b.s.! As a customer, i get this vibe that i was treated like i was like their own son.. :) Talk about their service here.... the lady who served us is THE SWEETEST girl ever... even when she knows they are already closed and waiting to clean up. Made sure everything was ok... I wanted ketchup, and she was kind enough to give me ALL the condiments, including homemade salsa! She even taught me a neat trick to pour the ketchup the right way! after seeing me struggling with the new bottle she gave me :) Oh yea there is one thing... this place is open til 3pm everyday... They are not open for dinner.... SOoo after everything i couldn't help but to leave her a fat tip, she was just too nice, by far the best friendliest waitress i have met in my life! The service was terrific, the food leaves you coma speechless, the price is not bad at all, and free juice! I would be in heaven if i can wake up to this place every morning.. ;) read more

Kick back jack is a nicer denny's, Ihop, *Insert Common Diner Name Here* that has a more family friendly atmosphere and larger portions. We ventured upon this place when we saw the amazing yelp reviews and definitely did not leave disappointed. If you don't want to leave feeling like you have a watermelon in your stomach, go with the "Just Right" breakfasts and "Just Right" lunches. These portions are the "typical" portions that you would find anywhere else and do the job well (both from your stomach and wallet's perspectives). Corned Beef Hash Combo: This combo was decent, but not my favorite. You can tell that it wasn't home made and didn't leave me craving more. Santa Fe Skillet: This dish was amazing. Tons of ingredients (I want to say potatoes, pot roast, peppers, etc?) I just remember that it was super good and the just right portion was bigger than my hand fully spread out! But wait, it gets better. Both of those just right meals come with a small juice and you your bill comes out to less than $15. Yep, a meal with juice, hearty portions, and tip for under $20 for two. Enough said! read more

There must be a lot of lumberjacks around, because portions are huge and gravy is plentiful. The best breakfast and lunch in all San Bernardino County! We love this place. It is walking distance from my Mom's house and we always stop here whenever we visit. One word: HEARTY! The hubs and I were in the IE for a marriage retreat and decided to stop here on our way back to LA and we're glad we did. Despite it being a busy Sunday morning, there was no wait time. Our server Ana was attentive without hovering and took care of us throughout our meal. We ordered the orange-strawberry juice which is all-natural and super yummy to start off. He ordered the avocado omelette with flapjacks while I got the Bahama Mama omelette with homefries and toast. Both of our omelettes were cooked just right. The flapjacks were thick and fluffy, just like I like them. The homefries could've used some more seasoning but I just added some salt, pepper and the chipotle sauce that came with my omelette and they were good to go. Toast? You can forget it. I was so full that the toast didn't get touched at all. The portions are nice! We could've totally split one combo but at least we had food saved for later. After eating we introduced ourselves to the owner who was waiting by the door to greet incoming customers and thank the outgoing ones. We let him know we had great food and great service and he seemed to really take pride in that. All in all, this restaurant is the perfect brunch spot when you want something that's both filling and delicious. We'll be back the next time we're out this way. read more

Great place to eat. Big portions if your really hungry and staff is pleasant. May be long wait at times but certainly worth it.

Overall: Great food but pricey. Decent service depending on who you get. Day and Time: Came on a Sunday morning and they were busy. The wait was about an hour. Food Ordered: Dirty Country Fried Chicken Breast (One of the most popular on the menu). I thought it was bomb along with my friends that tried it. A real filling food if you are starving. Service: Is just okay. Our original server didn't even know we had iced coffee. So one of my friends asked another server if he can have and they said sure.. Friendly and attentive staff. Made us feel very welcome however I don't feel the quality of the food was worth the price point. (3.5 people for $77). Banana Flap Jacks had 3 pieces of banana total (in both pancakes) , hash browns were thick like a slice of cake and the Bahama Mama Skillet was 90% thick cut potatoes. Yogurt parfait was delicious. Quantity is substantial, be prepared to take food home if you feel it's worth saving. read more

Food was absolutely amazing. My wife had the chiliquiles and I had the dirty biscuits and gravy that had their fried chicken in it. Our servers name was Alejandra and she had a helper I didn't get her name but both were phenomenal. Always checked on us and our drinks stayed full the whole time. We were in on a Sunday am it was extremely busy yet our service didn't get sacrificed. Would highly recommend trying it out. read more

Im going to give this a 3 because there are a couple of things that saved it from being lower. Starting with the goods. They use nice quality large eggs. The homemade chips are excellent and my sever ( an nice older lady with short hair) was awesome. What brought this place down for me was the main portion of my food. I ordered country fried steak and it had the consistency and taste of hamburger meat. In fact I'm fairly certain it was. If it was actually a piece of steak it was tenderized to the point it might as well have been. Disappointing considering it was marked as a house favorite. My other major gripe was the I presume manager/owner/whoever seemed to be in charge that day layed into one of the employees out on the floor. I didn't like that. I'm all for keeping your employees in check but do that in that back. That's super embarrassing. read more

So I found this place by chance, as an iPhone owner I simply asked Siri "What's good to eat around here?", per her search and listings by ratings KBJ was about number 4 on the list, the others were mainly Asian. I checked out KBJ, read some reviews, and I was intrigued, to say the least. KBJ was pretty decent, it was clean, quiet, and although it looked pretty busy (this was around 11:30 am), I was seated quickly. The lady that sat me wasn't my waitress, but she did take my drink order right away, so we could get the show on the road. After taking my drink order (which was fresh squeezed orange juice) and handing me a menu, she let me know who my waitress was going to be and off she went. My waitress stopped by with my drink, introduced herself, and asked if I had any questions. I did not, as of yet. She went on about her business and returned for my order. I had never been here, so she took the time to walk me through a few things, how the food was made, things most people get, a couple of her favorites, and how things are served. There were so many delicious choices, I had a hard time figuring out what to eat, I wanted it all! I received my food, and much to my surprise, it was quite the portion. I had the Breakfast--Jack. Two large buttermilk pancakes with bacon inside of them...yes inside of the pancakes...served with scrambled eggs w/cheese on top of the pancakes. I asked for the sour cream on the side, and I decided against the sliced jalapeños that the meal came with. Oh, I ordered a cinnamon roll and a tropical peach tea, to go. All in all, it was a great experience, awesome staff, very knowledgable (nothing irks me more than a worker who doesn't know much about anything), great food, not too crowded, not too loud, very relaxing, and enjoyable. The establishment itself had a rather old school feel, the decor was reminiscent of an era prior to this one, which isn't bad, you're there to eat, not admire their artwork, or lack thereof. The prices were very affordable, which you wouldn't expect with the portions they give you. If there was one thing to complain about, it wasn't the prices or the portions!Needless to say, I shall return! With all of the choices they have, I don't really have a choice, as I said earlier, everything looks so darn good. I'm full now and I still would like to order many things from their menu. The tropical peach tea was amazing, complete with real peaches, have some! read more

Went for a rainy day breakfast this morning. I didn't realize the portions were so huge. I ordered the chilaquiles. It was enough to share between three people to be honest. The chips were crunchy and the rice and beans flavorful. Just how I like it. What I was really impressed with was the restroom. They had diapers and baby powder for moms and their babies. It was such a thoughtful gesture. A real family oriented restaurant. The servers were all friendly and attentive. Going again but splitting the meal. read more

Came to Kick Back Jacks today, the wait was over 30 minutes but that's a given for a Sunday. Once we were seated we were promptly greeted by the hostess who was very helpful and attentive which was nice given how busy they were. I ended up getting the Basil and Cheese Omelette which was delicious. The Home fries that came with them however were very salty, to the point were I could not eat them, but that's fine. My one suggestion that I would say management is to be more flexible with the substitution of sides, the hostess said that they weren't allowed to do any substitutions which was a bit of a bummer. We definitely will come back though. read more

OK, I must say I was pretty disappointed. And I'm not sure why this place is so popular. Waited for 40 minutes for our table and ordered their Breakfast for 2-4 platter which included eggs, bacon, sausage, regular and French toast. The bacon was tough, eggs were dry scrambled (the waiter didn't even ask how we wanted them), and the toasts were burnt or dry. I knew this place was on the pricey side so was expecting to be wowed. Instead of being wowed, it was total disappointment. Yes, the portion was big but won't matter if we didn't eat much of because the quality wasn't there. I would definitely say Denny's and Norm's were better. At almost $20 a person and a long wait, it's definitely not worth it. read more

Drove 30min to come eat here after hearing from a few people how good it was... Well unfortunately I'm not a fan of hair in my food. Ordered coffee an breakfast it looked amazing! I had a few bites then realized there was a long strand of hair underneath the food. our server hadn't been out to check.on is so i went inside an told the manager who's name was Bridget (our server was Alejandra). Neither seemed to care no apology no nothing then only wanted to deduct the bacon off the meal!! They offered to make a new plate of food. Well unfortunately makes me wonder if there will be haor or something worse in that. I had to be to work after an plus by the time I got a new plate of food my sister would of been done with hers so I'd be sitting there just eating. So I said screw it an just didn't eat. They still tryed to charge me half. You'd think with covid going on they'd be extra careful!! I mentioned the cooks should be wearing hair nets an she said well I don't know how it got there the 2 cooks are bald. Well I know it wasn't mine since I have purple/grey/pink hair. Maybe the servers should wear their hair up or something other than messy braids an down. As women we shed often some more than others. I'm sure it was a mistake but the restaurant could of handles it better an could of had way better customer service. read more

We have been coming here for a couple years but lately the service hasn't been as great. I requested the outside seating since we have a baby but was told due to lack of staffing they could not seat anyone there. I was understanding and accepted to eat indoors. My husband and I we're looking for something different to eat as we started our date day so we got up and headed out from the high desert. As he drove I searched yelp for restaurants and came across kick back jack so we headed that direction. When we arrived we were kindly greeted and informed that the wait was about 30 minutes. Uh oh, the 30 minutes came and went. I heard another customer who was there before we arrived that they were backed up in the kitchen and would start seating the customers once they caught up. I told my husband and we were in no hurry so we patiently waited until we were called. Maybe about 15-20 minutes later we hear our name and are seated. A young man takes our drink order and the waitress follows behind shortly after. I love potatoes so I ordered a basic pancake, bacon and egg meal with a side of home fries. My husband had an item off the dirty menu. The review sounds great right, well, the reason for the 2 starts is that my potatoes were bland and cold. The bacon tasted like it had been sitting; it was cold and hard. I didn't make a fuss as I usually would but didn't since we had already been there so long and had the rest of the day to grab something if I was hungry. Besides it ruined my appetite! Restaurant must understand that people are consuming the food that is being served and it must be served at a certain temperature otherwise it can grow bacteria and cause the consumers to become ill. I will pass on filing a complaint to environmental health and services regarding the cold food being served and chalk it up as a bad food experience. By the way; I didn't eat the potatoes Highly disappointed! read more
