First time here at Kickback Jack's and I wasn't to impressed with this place. To be honest the waitress was somewhat rude regarding how I wanted my burger cooked, which automatically dropped the highest rating I'd be willing to give as a 3 star restaurant. However, I do like the environment here and the outdoor seating, which was really nice! However, one of the downfalls to this place outside is that it smells like cigarettes. My wife ordered a Bud Light and I ordered a Bluemoon and drinks were good. I ordered the All-American Burger for lunch, cooked medium rare and it was cooked correctly! The fries was not that great and it just seemed like there wasn't a lot of effort into them. I may or may not be back! read more

I was pretty satisfied with my 1st experience at KickBack Jack's... They initially told us there would be a 45 minute wait for a part of 4, but we were seated after about 20 minutes. We ordered the Chips Trio- and the guacamole and salsa were really good. The cheese was good but wasn't very warm. For my meal I had the Asian Salad- It was excellent! I'd definitely go back for that salad alone! There are nearly 60 televisions! So lots going on, very noisy, perfect for game night. This has got to be the worst service I've had in a very very long time. Came here with a group of 6. I ordered the grilled chicken dinner with a side salad. Another person got their salad and I waited to see if mine would come out. I finally asked the waitress about my salad. She apologized and went back to the kitchen, finally returning with the salad. Everyone else in my party got their entrees, but mine was nowhere to be found. The waitress came and asked how everyone's food was, and I showed the empty spot in front of me. The waitress then avoided me, and wouldn't return to our table. I had to track her down and ask to speak to a manager. The manager seemed to be put out by coming and talking to me. She told me she didn't know anything about why I didn't get my order. The manager eventually came from the kitchen with my food, and informed me that the waitress neglected to ring in my order and that she would comp my meal. The food was lackluster to say the least. And the attitude of the manager and the ineptitude of the service is enough to keep me away. If I had simply been told the truth about my order not being rung in, I would have been aggravate; but the situation would not have escalated to the point it did. read more

Visiting on alumni weekend I was excited to show my friends and family a good time where I've enjoyed so many. But after being seated, ordering food and more than $500 in drinks we were abruptly asked to leave. No proper explanation was provided at the time of this request except for 'you have to go, pay and leave'. Alarmed and concerned I quickly paid my tab only to find that they were shunning us from spending our hard earned money because our party size grew from 6 to 7 when an old friend pulled up a chair after seeing us from across the bar. Disgusting. Pushing interested parties out the door will result in the business you'd expect, closure. I've been to this location many times now. Typically get a salad and dry rubbed wings but I make it clear to cook them crispy or they undercook them. The service is usually OK but their alcohol selection is awful. They never had half of what's on the alcohol menu. read more

Disappointed! Ordered a shrimp appetizer that never came and wings and salmon for our entree. Wings were okay but the salmon was horrible! Popped in for a post-Xmas shopping drink and app and guess who I ran into.... Mickey and Goofy! After having an already fun day this really put us over the top having some quality girl time. The atmosphere was lively and fun and the characters was a nice treat. We had the BBQ chicken nachos which were massive and very tasty nachos, and cheese sticks which cheese sticks are cheesesticks; however I dip mine in buffalo sauce rather than ranch or marinara so I ordered the garlic buffalo sauce they use on their wings and oh boy it was great!! I came here with my husband on our way back to Knoxville from Burlington. The environment is laid back, dark inside, with a lot of T.V.s. This would probably be a good place to come during a big game. We sat outside, where the bar is. I ordered a drink and my husband got a drink and the All American burger with fries. The service was mediocre. The bar tender was very busy tending the bar and trying to serve 7 tables surrounding the bar. She gave us attitude several times, which was probably due to the stress of bar tending and serving tables. My husbands burger was cooked perfectly but the fries were not very good. Decent Food, Decent Service, lots of TVs. Come here to watch sports, not to eat dinner. The food is average at best. Our server was nice, but the food took forever. I'm not sure of this is normal or just a fluke, but it didn't add to our experience. Once the food finally arrived, it was plain and lifeless. I have read the other reviews and I really don't get it! I visited this place for the first time during a busy lunch day. We received excellent service from the moment we walked through the door. The waitress was very attentive and responded quickly to all requests. The food was delicious and appeared to be made with fresh ingredients. Prices are reasonable. So.... I have been wanting to try this place since I heard it was going to open 6 months ago. This used to be the location for Tripp's restaurant, which had handmade food and was a nice treat when in the Hickory area. The new restaurant that took its place is owned by the same company and was lucky enough to keep the Kitchen manager they had with Tripp's. The design of the remodel really shines! they have more and better parking than before so as soon as you pull in you are happy to find a spot to park. The staff is very friendly as you enter the very very busy establishment. We checked in and was given a pager and told we had a 20 min wait. We played some billiards in the covered outdoor area while waiting for a table and had one of the 32 draft beers on tap. After about 30 min we got our table for 7, we had a large party and knew it would be hard to get a table quickly. We ordered some Fried pickles, Mozzarella sticks and some stuffed jalapenos. all orders came out quickly and in large portions. I had the dry rubbed wings and veggie flat bread pizza for my meal with some habanero sauce on the side. All the food was good, I think I like the fired pickles the best. My wife ordered the same pizza, my mother in law had some wings, 3 of the kids had the kids meal with Mozzarella sticks and fries, 1 kid had the mac and cheese. This place is nice and reminds me of a Taco Mac with all the 90" TV's, large bar, wide open decor and menu options. I would rate higher if i felt it still had that home made feel but most of the food seams mass produced and not what I look for when eating out. Went on a Sunday afternoon to hear Mitch play. Inside the restaurant was dead and there were 5-6 servers standing at the host stand. Outside on the patio was packed (Mitch draws a great crowd!) but only one or two servers working the area. (Hint: add more servers to the busy area when the dining room is empty and patio is full!) Ordered two Bud Lights - server proceeded to tell is the other beer specials before coming back to the fact that the Bud Lights that we ordered were on special as well. A full 15 minutes later the server returned to take our order - still didn't have drinks! Ordered the Tailgater appetizer, a burger, and a rib/shrimp combo. Beers finally arrived (20 minutes after being ordered. Ten minutes later, our appetizer arrived along with our entrees. Appetizer combo was ok - nothing special. Mozzarella sticks and poppers were the frozen variety, chicken tenders burnt and under breaded. Pickles were chips so 2x more breading than pickle. Burger was mediocre at best - chili had no flavor. Fries on both plates were under-rinsed (hand cut so ya have to get rid of that starch!) and dark brown and all fried items tasted of dirty fryer oil. All in all, I would go back to hear the music and have a few drinks but will pass on food. read more

One star only because I can't leave zero. Worst customer service ever! We walked in with our family who met here after not seeing each other for a year and a half. So yes we were distracted and did not read the sign on the door. We told the hostess we had a party of eight. She turned and walked away without comment. A few minutes later another hostess ask us how many. Again we said eight. She said oh. Then a manager comes out and starts yelling at us that we won't be seated as a party of 8. We even said we were willing to sit at different tables. He said if he did that it would be tables on opposite sides of the restaurant. But since we had already identified ourselves as a party of 8 we would not be seated at all. I politely asked him to stop yelling and explain the policy so I could understand. He first said he wasn't yelling but then said he was yelling because of his mask so I could hear him. I said he was scaring my kids and he said well you have to leave anyway. There was no cause for this person to yell at us or kick us out. We were polite the entire time and didn't argue we just wanted to understand why 50 total strangers could sit at the bar without social distancing and all the tables that were filled without barriers or distancing were different than a table of eight or four and four sitting next to each other. We have come here a lot and before the pandemic often brought out of town guests with us. After this treatment, I will never return to this place again. read more

We were in town visiting and wanted to watch football and have a drink, so after a quick search online we decided to go here. Went to the hostess and asked if we could sit in the bar area. She says yes it's all first come first serve there. all the open seats at the bar top we're dirty, so we sat at the high top. We were really rudely informed that the high top in the bar is not bar seating and we had to go see the hostess because "you can't sit there" and then we were informed that that high top table "was dirty anyway". whatever, every other open seat/table were dirty and mind you it was pretty empty. So we say ok, sorry we thought this was part of the bar" (it was literally in the bar) and so we sat at the bar top, at a dirty seat. And while the bartender saw us, she never came over to wipe it up or take the previous occupant's check Or even give us a head nod to acknowledge that we were even there. So we left. read more

Granted I arrived at 10:30 on a Friday night after attending a local high school basketball tournament. It must have been a heck of a night at KBJ. The place was not clean. There was food and trash all over the floor. The bathrooms looks like a stereotypical gas station restroom. There was water and toilet paper all over the floor and the place reeked of urine. There was a very large security guard standing by the door for outdoor seating and their were 2 uniformed police officers walking around with another officer setting in a patrol car outside. The restaurant was peaceful and just your typical noise for a sports bar. Perhaps they were expecting a larger crowd earlier and needed the security, but during our time at KBJ's there were zero issues. This is your basic sports bar with a lot of TV's and the standard food that you would expect. The menu is not adventurous at all. Our server was quick and polite. We had a few beers and burgers. I must say that the burger was cooked perfect. The fries were limp and just barely warm. The service was fast and friendly though. I would have given a little better rating if the restaurant would have been cleaner and I did not feel as if a fight were ready to breakout at any second because of the high security presence. read more

Talked the wife in to heading to Kick Back Jacks in Hickory. She immediately saw some bad post on Yelp and was hesitant. We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. Christian was our waitress and she was AWESOME and recommended some great drinks for my wife. My son loved the Sweet Tea and they have my favorite Sweet Water Blue!! The food came out quick and service was incredible. The food was Off The Chain!!The wait staff appear to work well together as one of the waitresses brought my wife some mayo. The manager was making his rounds to make sure everyone was being taken care of. Plenty of TV's to watch the game on. My family usually eats at the Mooresville location every Friday night due to our weekend travels,we recently moved to the hickory area and visited the hickory location. This was a horrible experience and we ended up walking out due to the attitude of their Manager Jeff. My daughter has always requested a Cheese pizza with BBQ sauce instead of regular Pizza Sauce because she doesn't like their sauce. This has never been a problem and has always been a simple request. This manager refused to make the pizza this way because the BBQ sauce is not on their pizza line. He offered to make a pizza with no sauce and put BBQ sauce in a cup on the side. I did not feel like this was an unreasonable request but he seemed to think it would completely disrupt their kitchen. Being a customer that spends at least $50 a week with this food chain or $200+ a month Ivan honestly say I will never spend another dime at this location. This Manager does not care about the customer and from what I could tell the waitress seem to fear him. Not a good way to manage people or treat customers. read more
