To start this place is great, I'm here for a vacation with the family. The place is close to the hotel, heard good things, so we decided to try it out. Between us we got the Cajun/Alfredo pasta, a burger, and a fish and Shrimp dish. I asked all 5 of us and we all gave ratings of 4.5-5 not only for great food but amazing service. Everything was cooked perfectly. In addition the portions were huge for a very good price. 10$ for like 2 pounds of pasta feels like a steal to me. We ate here while staying at the Hampton Inn because it was in walking distance. I wasn't expecting much based on some of the other reviews, but I have to say that our meal was delicious! Despite them being very busy we didn't have to wait very long for a table and our service was very quick. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and my son had the all American burger which were both very good, but the highlight was the fries! They were perfect. This is by no means a fancy restaurant, and the clientele seem to be mostly local folks, so if you're looking for a gourmet meal this is probably not your jam - but for a quick, delicious sports bar fare it's a great option! read more

I had a very bizarre experience at this restaurant today. We could see into the kitchen where food was being prepared and someone was eating and drinking (their own food) in the kitchen. We then saw that same person walking by food which was being plated (salad and french fries) and eating it. I personally was going to let it slide but someone in my party was very upset and asked for the manager. Shockingly, the person who was in the kitchen eating was the manager. The manager then claimed that they were supposed to taste test the food. The person in my party said that is fine but not after eating their own food without washing their hands. Overall the food is pretty good. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. The reason for the three stars is bar service. Been here 4-5 times due to staying at the hotels basically next door. One time the bar was full I sat in the restaurant had fast service. Other times I've sat at the bar. You basically have to let the bartenders know you want something. One night it took me ten minutes to get acknowledged while both bartenders kept walking by. Even if they get you your drink it's some time after they come back asking if you want food. The one usually does drinks for the restaurant while the other pretends to be busy. read more

My team is staying at a hotel across from this restaurant. We had a very long day and have a very long week ahead of us so we decided to keep things easy and just eat here. The first red flag should have been when we asked what house certain liquors were and the server busted out a piece of paper with all their liquors on it. We got a round of 1800 and one got an 1800 and soda. Mind you we are all bartenders and manage bars for a living so we know a little something about alcohol. This "1800" looked a little off and tasted like whiskey. We alerted the MOD Heather and let her know it had a different taste almost as if maybe someone married whiskey with a reposado which she quickly snarked they don't marry bottles *insert side eye*. Heather came back claiming she watched the tape and 1800 was clearly poured and we were wrong no whiskey here we're just trying to get free drinks. We're adults so we moved on from the Tennessee tequila but just found it very rude that Heather wasn't willing to listen to us at all. read more

This is hands down the worst Kickback Jacks I have ever been too. I have been to several so that says a lot. This Asheboro location is very disappointing. The service is slack and the food is terrible. Yesterday I had a chicken philly. The bun was drenched like it had been dropped in water. The whole time I was eating said wet sub liquid was literally pouring out on my plate. It was to the point that I nearly needed a rain suit to keep from getting drenched. I took an average of seven minutes to get a beer each time I ordered one. My server had the personality of a turnip, her poor customer service skills need work. My wife overheard a cook at Kickback Jack's talking about spitting in her food. She went outside on the patio to vape, and overheard one of the cook's talking about "cheezy bread" pizza order that made him so mad because it was no longer on the menu. Seems to me an order of: "pepperoni pizza, no sauce, no pepperoni" would be easier, not harder to make! She knew he was talking about her food because he described it as "ordered by the regulars that sit at the end of the bar." Anyway, she didn't tell me about it until we were on the way home. I of course lost my composure to say the least but couldn't get her to turn around because she was in "no mood" to bail me out of jail. I went back and talked with the Manager, (Billy), about it the next day. My end of the conversation was anything but cordial as I was still livid. He said he would find out who it was and take care of it. We went back Saturday , and I found out the cooks name was Don. I was flabbergasted to see him in the kitchen working! I asked, and was told Billy (the manager) had already left but had given him a "stern talk." Oh that's just great, so now he's REALLY mad at her! We of course left, even though the supervisor, assistant manager, or whatever his title, "Adam," graciously offered to personally fix whatever food she cared to order. I sent a message through their website to Battleground Restaurant Group, 1337 Winstead Place, Greensboro, NC 27408 the next day explaining what had happened, but I have had no communication whatsoever from them. Not a peep. It was recommended to her that she notify the health department and file a police report, but she didn't want to go through all that would entail. She just wishes she had had the initiative to hit 'record' on her phone. This is the kind of thing you see on the web in other places and never expect to encounter personally. You can bet she'll never eat there (or Pizza Hut where I'm told he also works or did work,) ever again as long as he's an employee. read more

First time going. It was across the street from the hotel we were staying at so easy walk. Wait was about 30 minutes not too bad. We were seating in the bar area, lots of tv's. Waitress was not real friendly. Took our drink order. Came back and took our food order like it was an inconvenience. The food was good. I asked for extra napkins and nothing. I could see our waitress talking with another employee for a bit and playing with her hair. Just glad it was not her who brought our food. She couldn't stop flipping her hair or touching it. I was staying across the street from this location. Was a bit concerned about visiting due to reviews of the service here, but my wife and I thought we'd give it a try anyway. Glad we did!! We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. My wife was trying to decide among a couple of their craft beer offerings and the bartender suggested and then brought samples for her to try. After we were set up, we were brought waters and placed our food order. A couple apps to get started. We tried the firecracker shrimp and the buffalo chicken dip. They were fantastic. The shrimp was fresh and crispy and the sauce was well seasoned. The buffalo chicken dip was equally good and the chips were warm and fresh. The portions: huge. Too large for us to order anything more. Kickbacks is a sports bar with plenty of TVs. Our service was terrific. Absolutely no complaints. The bartenders were attentive and but not overbearing. Do not eat here! A friend and I were hungry after doing makeup for a bridal party at the hotel right across from here so we decided to grab a quick lunch before heading home. We were seated immediately, and greeted by a server about 3-4 mins later. We ordered drinks and food. My friend ordered pasta and said it was not good at all. We alerted the server who had to get her manager. Didn't get his name but he was an older white man with glasses. He approached her asking what was wrong with the pasta because they made it 'perfectly' and per their instructions... so you mean to tell me your 'perfect instructions/recipe' satisfy every customer you have? Okay... I looked at it and it looked very bland, no seasoning at all. She's not even the type to complain but didn't want to eat something that wasn't good. She wanted the wings that I had instead and was able to swap them out, but he did not want to take the pasta off the check- like it reallyyyy bothered him. He gave us the impression that he thought we didn't want to pay (we are 2 young black females btw). I used to work in the restaurant industry for 6+ years and always pay for my food and tip very well. Mind you I just left a job so I had plenty of money for this $40 meal . I've been here about ten times, and it's really a mixed bag. The staff -usually very young women in very tiny shorts (if seeing someone's inner thigh served up with your burger is your thing, this is the place to go) is usually friendly and fast, but three of the times I went, they totally dropped the ball. The food is what you'd expect- sometimes cold, sometimes late, usually not any of those things. I like the appetizers, and their drink specials are really great. For those reviewers complaining about their server not having memorized the drink menus: it's written down for you, on that laminated paper in the middle of your table. Study it. They're not earning 2.75 an hour to appease your need to issue pop quizzes. My only big complaint is that I once left my purse there and the manager was horrrrrrible about it. The servers and hostess were nice in helping me find it when I returned because I'd left it hooked to the bottom of the table, but for some reason the manager got involved. She charged up to me, stopped about three feet away and raised her voice to tell me, without greeting or courtesy, "We didn't steal your purse!". It was weird, rude, it freaks me out. Other than the run in with the manager, the staff has always been really friendly. Some even wear full-length pants sometimes (: Oh, and it's the loudest restaurant I've ever been to. Seriously. We have been coming here for a little while with no issues to speak of. Tonight we went and my husband ordered the quesadilla's as his meal and when they came, he took one bite, they just did not taste right. When we tried to send them back and replace it with a pizza, we were told by the manager, Danielle Hose, that they made their food to the highest standards and we would have to pay for them regardless.
