The leadership at Rolling Hills School is horrible. Dr. Danny Gentry is lazy and sits in his office…read moreall day. He doesn't interact with the students or parents. All he does is create AI-generated memes and emails. Dr. Gentry does not lead the school as an instructional leader. He canceled every staff meeting last school year and doesn't ensure collaborative time on short Wednesdays is utilized by teachers. Our children's instructional time is wasted! He puts his work on other staff members. The academics at this school have dropped considerably. There is no data-driven decision-making by this incompetent leader. He has been observed making comments about the staff members whose husbands abuse them and who do and do not come from money. He has created a culture of gossip. Many families are choosing to remove their children from this school. I encourage you to do the same.

I feel very safe leaving my child here. She reads and does math much better than I did at her age. Don't listen to nay sayers who only want to hear themselves talk and complain. In fact, you should be doing that to the principle, not on an open forum. He wants to hear your concerns. This school is the best in the Fairfield area and you won't be disappointed. Btw, my daughter loves the new walking and running routine in the morning before school now. It is so easy to drop her off. No more fits, she just kisses me and runs off to the playground to dance and run to the music. Great job staff! 2015/2016 school year is a hit! Parents, volunteer and see your kids school at work. They need your help and your support both in time and opinion.

So hard to communicate with. There way or no way. The teachers here are really good!! Every time I have to step foot on grounds I have an issue with one of the staff, kitchen staff even :( people don't seem to be happy with their job here at all.

I will have to go to the district and post my review about GVMS-Green Valley Middle School. (Gold Hill Road, Cordelia) This school is honestly the most horrible school I have ever had the unfortunate option with. If you can keep your child away from this school, your child will be much better off. The teachers are mean to children and have no tolerance for childish behavior. (from the children...) From my experience there I have witnessed them throw away children like trash with no care at all. They break the will and spirit of children. If the child is a girl, they're much more likely to not be attacked, but for boys, they do not want boys to behave like boys. At the first sign of behaving like a boy, they kick them out or start making a file on them. It is really sad, and really changes the way our children think.

The PEP Program is FSUSD's best kept secret. A little too well kept! The program is open to ALL…read morestudents in the district (you don't have to live in Crescent's attendance area) who are in grades K-5. The program basically works like this: parents volunteer one day a week in the classroom, for approximately 3 hours. This gives teachers more one-on-one time with students, parents get to be hands on with their child's education, and it builds a community rarely seen in our busy world. The teachers are dedicated, going above and beyond what is required. We've had a volunteer choir when no music program was available through the district. We go on field trips, and fund raise so that EVERY student goes on the field trip with no worries about cost. I have the enviable position of knowing all the parents of my child's classmates as well as all his classmates. Students who are exceeding grade level work can go to the next grade level up for that particular subject, and aren't going into the classroom of a teacher they are unfamiliar with. Students requiring additional attention are able to receive it, by parent volunteers in the classroom AND their teacher. There are family gathering events, from Winter Concerts to potlucks. We have a "Dad's Day" where dads, grandpas, uncles, etc. come in and share something about their jobs or hobbies. Last year we had a Vallejo motorcycle police officer and the kids (and a few teachers!) got to sit on his bike, there was fishing, working on electronics, trying on military tactical gear and much more. There are special themed centers for holidays, a monthly Books & Bagels event for kindergarten & first grade, and there was talk of starting a robotics team this coming school year. Knowing all the benefits of this program as well as the opportunity to be in there, not just attending PTO meetings, had made all the difference for me. My child loves it and is successful in school, I love it, and I want more families to know this is an option for them.
