Yes, I am a BIG FAN; particularly the KHQ local news team! I have been a Spokane and E. Washington area resident for over 50 years. From time to time, and for various reasons, I've had the opportunity to compare the overall quality of your news casts and products to those of your local competitors. Although news is news, the means by which it's presented makes all the difference in the world. To a truly local individual such as myself, your newscasts come across as local news stories, as presented by local professionals with the same concerns as local people like me. I am continually convinced that your newscasters have the same concerns as me regarding our great quality of life in Spokane. Each and every one of KHQ's front line broadcaster are absolutely excellent, likeable communicators! From news, to sports, weather and special reports, they are all top notch! l look forward to watching your newscasts whenever I can. Lately I've been wondering how and where you find these pleasant and talented individuals! I'm reminded that when you hire and develop the right people, success is certain. It seems to me that much of the credit for KHQ's superior broadcast news department, should go the outstanding performance of those individuals who scout out, hire, train, coach, advise, develop and maintain your front line individuals. And I certainly know very little about the many tasks required to deliver each and every newscast. But I'm quite sure that there are dozens of skilled and highly talented individuals that work hard to ensure the quality of your news broadcasts. Great teamwork makes a winning team. Honestly, over the years, I've had some doubts about a couple of your newer front line individuals. Without exception, those few questionable individuals were developed into extraordinarily likable and trustworthy broadcasters. When I see the new faces now, I almost look forward to watching them grow and develop to their maximum potential. I want you to know that I have never gone to the trouble to send a message like this to any company. this is specifically for the coverage of Bloomsday. It seriously can't be worse. It is so amateurish. There are multiple dead space moments, we're seeing coverage through someone's digital camera, they have names all screwed up about elite wheelchair racers and runners. It is the worst coverage in the world, and you would think that a race of this caliber would deserve something better than an amateurish approach. Do your homework, folks. Learn the names, get someone who actually knows a little bit about running to help you with your coverage, get people operating the cameras not to show us the blue sky, but focus on the runners themselves. It honestly feels like a bunch of people got drunk the night before and are now covering an event the next morning all hung over. It's truly unbelievable. read more

The only issue I have is the syncing of the video with the audio. A lot of times the video is a second or two behind the audio. The voice has stopped but the lips are still moving. Do not see this with KREM or KXLY. read more

I'm sorry to see DP retire, but he's earned it. I'm not a morning person so seeing the early morning crew was wonderful over this final weekend of the Olympics. You've managed to replace well loved personalities with equally talented broadcasting friends to play off each other. Friendships within your staff at all levels in front, or behind the camera, shows you're definitely doing everything right! Hooray for all the talent inside the building and outside on-the-run. Weekend new and weather was also a favorite. The camaraderie between your weekend twosome was a hoot with graduates from opposite sides of the state line. Totally mediocre newscasts and anchors. I used to DVR their 5 o'clock newscast, but stopped about a couple of months ago when they got some new reporters. You can tell they have no idea what they're doing, there are high schoolers that do a better job on their social media! Also the main co-anchors CONSTANTLY mis-speak and are quite awkward. And let's not say anything about all the female anchors fashion choices - yikes! Super distracting. From in your face high end name brands to tacky rhinestone necklaces ‍ Whatever happened to conservative office attire so we can focus on the news (and I use that word lightly as there's not much "news"), not your lack of fashion sense! read more

Whoever is writing their news articles on the App, they are in serious need of some basic grammar skills. A ton of misspelled words, no punctuation, and run on sentences leaves the reader lost and bored. The morning show used to be really good, now it seems like a "cackle club". Stick to the news and bring Sean Owsley back to the morning show, he is about the only stand up reporter they have on staff! read more

This station has a bad habit of preempting published scheduled NBC Nightly News at 5:30pm with other programs such as Judge Judy, Jeopardy, or even paid commercials. I like there news coverage and look forward to watching NBC Nightly news. I have my DVR programmed to record every evening, so you can see how disappointed, when I sit down to watch the evening news, that instead of what was published to be on, something is recorded. read more

I am very disgusted with your careless lapse for your consumers viewing of channel 28. I know I am not alone in watching a number of shows on this channel. I and my husband have personnally have been watching this channel for a number of years and your taking it off the air for over 3 weeks now due to $ isses is ridiculous!!!! I figured when you did the same thing last year that would be it. Direct says it is all your fault we are not seeing the shows we like especially the morning and evening and early night news. WE also watch a number of the series and have missed all the final episodes of the season. Two stars is pretty generous from someone who can only get reception when the Sinclair mafia makes up with Direct tv. It will be intolerable not to have access to tv broadcasts of Gonzaga basketball, our whole reason for submitting to pay television when we were blacked out by corporate insistence upon hi-def signals. Now we are eliminated from the channel 6 and channel 28 signals for which we pay. I thought KHQ was owned by Cowles. It's not that I'm a fan of any personalities on either channel. As a long-ago broadcaster myself, I believe your news anchors are one-dimensional and un-interested in any significant news items, and your basketball announcers are too easily distracted from game action. NBC, on the other hand, offers the best all-around presentation of national and international news, without complete capitulation to the perspective of the dominant corporate paradigm. I won't suffer without NBC, but I won't continue to pay for tv reception if I can't watch GU basketball. And, this weekend, I would be sampling Husky and Seahawk football, except for the greedy monopolists of Sinclair, who would still be required to serve the public interests under rules I had to follow when I was broadcasting news and sports prior to the Reagan Administration.
