We had no idea where to get dinner when we arrived around 8 PM to our hotel in downtown Auckland. A receptionist at the Marriott recommended this restaurant and said her friend owned it. She called and asked if they would take us, because it was minutes away from closing time. It was a little hard to find using Google Maps, but we got there. When we arrived, we were the only patrons. The owner was there with one waitress, and they both were very friendly and gave us recommendations. And they were very polite despite us coming in just before close.
We just got water to drink, so I can't comment on the beverage choices, but it looked like they had decent beer and cocktails. I ordered the lamb Massaman, and my husband got the Wagyu Panang. They were both amazing! My lamb shank was tender, and the curry was really flavorful and had the right amount of heat. I was really wanting lamb, because New Zealand is known for it, but dare I say my husband's dish was even better. The beef was so juicy and tender. I would definitely recommend this. read more
