This doctor was my sisters general doctor and the current doctor that oversees UCI HEALTH Fountain Valley. He's considered a respiratory doctor and was treating her pneumonia that she contracted while fighting stage 4 Lung Cancer. During her stay at UCI Health for 40 days my sisters cancer spread to her brain and a decision needed to be made what to do next. This "DOCTOR" failed to listen to her family. He asked "MY SISTER" who brain was diminishing where she wanted to go. I TRIED to explain to him she wasnt thinking properly as he walked out the door NOT listening to a word I was telling him. This man is soo Arrogant and what we went thru I will hold him responsible. He placed my dying sister in one of his REHAB Facilties called "Fountain Valley Post Acute". This was considered a convalescent hospital and recently changed names to FVPA. The staff was NOT prepared for a hospice patient and had NO idea of her condition. They kept trying to get her to walk so she could get back home and get back to work. My sister had 3 mos left to live and this "DOCTOR" just took 2-3 weeks of her life away from us. We had to make OTHER plans and place her in the proper care. FVPS is NOTHING more then a convalescent hospital, never place your ailing loved one there. My sister worshiped this "Doctor" Khan but he was one of the most rude doctors I have ever come across. To tell me she had anxiety when her brain was changing is absolutely unacceptable and he should be looked into for his arrogance. Even the staff at FVPA could NOT understand why she was placed there which screams volumes. Anyway, think twice before going under his care. read more

Doctor is very stingy about prescribing medications needed to remain functional and is perfectly happy to let them lapse between when I discover I have to make an appointment to see them about it and when the appointment actually gets scheduled for. Also he refuses to wear a face mask properly and it's always hanging below his nose. read more

The Dr. is extremely rude and unprofessional. He walked out of the office as I was telling him my concerns. I told him about my shoulder dislocation problem and he started to walk out. He yelled back as he was walking out that he would give me a referral for my shoulder. It was approved . I called the ortho and they needed an X-ray. An X-ray that my primary care physician Dr Khan never ordered because he was walking out of the room before I finished speaking. He needs to retire and be removed from insurance networks. read more

This incompetent sniveling coward of a man gave us incorrect information about my sister's (she is only 53 years old) brain tumor, saying it was "most likely benign" and then admitted he never looked at the reports. They took a biopsy of the tumor 6/27 which initially determined that it was an aggressively growing tumor that was most likely malignant. He told us a week later that the biopsy was sent out for a special stain, and would take a few more days. HE DIDN'T SEND THE SAMPLE OUT FOR TESTING UNTIL 7/7!!! He sat on the sample while the tumor grew significantly in size, and told us the lab was delayed because of the 4th of July holiday. We asked multiple times a day when we would get those reports and he lied to us constantly. He also still has not called back the neurosurgeon at the current hospital that he had my sister sent to. Her new doctor (who actually cares dearly about her patients) found out it hadn't been sent by calling the labs herself. She said she was "shocked" that they never sent out the sample. It has been 4 days since she started reaching out to this idiot, and he still hasn't called her back. If you love your family member, do not let this man get involved. read more

This is the absolute worst Doctor I have ever experienced. My husband has been sick for 6 months & we have been on the journey to discover what is causing his issues (mainly within his stomach). We decided to see our PCP for some additional guidance. I came in prepared with questions. He gave us 5 minutes of his time, read the previous notes, said that everything looked fine, & essentially walked out on me as I was attempting to ask more questions. Honestly, I felt like he had ZERO care or interest in listening to anything we were saying. All he did was prescribe more meds (that haven't been helping initially), and told us to drink more water. I was appalled by this experience & I would never see this doctor again. I will say his front staff is very helpful. Shout out to Alma who always called me back at a reasonable time. But overall, these guys are too busy with their patient load, and not empathetic whatsoever. read more

Dr. Abdul Kahn is one of the most unprofessional doctors I have ever been to. In fact I have NEVER had a bad experience with a doctor until now. I've only seen him a few times and the last two times he refused everything except one referral I needed and then got that wrong. The staff are very nice, especially working in a less than professional office. From the initial appearance of the office to being subjected to a rant with the doctor yelling down the hallway and at the front desk for his staff and patients to hear that I need to find a new doctor. This is only because I asked him why he was being so rude to me for the second visit in a row. I was left to feel humiliated and treated with the worst care possible. I hope that this somehow helps in your future decisions and that maybe the doctor reads this and understands he is there to listen and help his patients and not there to humiliate and scold them in any way like he did with me. Dr. Kahn has taken great care of myself and my wife for over ten years. About seven years ago I was in Hoag Hospital for pneumonia. All the specialists I was dealing with knew him , and to my surprise he came in early on Christmas Eve morning and discharged me! His diagnosis has always been correct, and he explains the options. A couple of weeks ago he told me that I could either go to the emergency room for a faster diagnosis, or start a new medication immediately and come back next week. Alma runs the office staff and we love her. The wife has known her for about twenty years. The staff is patient, and friendly. On the downside they are really busy since there is two doctors in the office. read more

If I could do lower than a 1 I would... he does not care about his patients at all. He will talk to u for maybe 3 minutes then your out the door. His RN is just as in caring!! I have had an issue with my knee and I went in and my knee is the size of a baseball. I told the RN assist It was starting to affect my elbow and I was having pain on the right side of my body trying to compensate for my knee pain. She said she send over the request urgent.Even told her staff three times. After Office mistake on paperwork never knew went thru on knee went over about my elbow.... i have been battling this a week and no one has buttered to look at the paper work to confirm about my knee .... this is NOT A DOCOTRS OFFICE!!! read more

He one of the Doctors that is taking care of my dying grandmother at HOAG. We've had 3 separate instances of our grandmothers DNR being incorrect and he's the only one that can change it. Getting ahold of him has been a nightmare and getting the DNR correct to our and our grandmothers wishes has been even worse. It has been incorrect 3 times and if anything were to happen to her she would be the one to pay for it. On top of that, when we requested a call and the nurse had him on the phone, he just asked "what is wrong with this stupid family and changing it every day?" while the man was on speaker phone with us. His nurse clearly said he was on speaker and he still said it. So F'in disrespectful and unprofessional. We've been clear on the DNR requests and we have had to ask for changes because the message has not been clear through his staff. This has not been our fault. Dr Khan was great during my appointment and during my follow-up. I didn't feel like I was being rushed in and out of his office for a higher turnover. When I explained my symptoms I felt like he was actually listening and not dismissing me or blowing me off. could not even write a lab order properly... I requested some std tests and the faxed order had only HIV and syphilis on there. Who in their right mind tests only for 2 stds? I had to go back and forth with the lab and the doctor and they finally faxed another order which was wrong again. It just contained the words "Hepatitis B" and the lab stated that there are 10 different types of Hepatitis B tests and the type wasn't specified so they could not proceed. In addition the tests were ordered in a way that the lab (Quest diagnostics) stated it would be $1,400 to do the testing... $1,400 for an std panel? really? When there is another place I know that can do an entire 10 test panel for $220? I asked the lab why it is such a ridiculous number and they said it was due to the way the doctor had written up the tests... ridiculous. In addition to check with my insurance I needed the ICD10 and the CPT code, after much calling I finally got the ICD10 code but I still am waiting to get the CPT code, why is it so difficult to just put those in the lab order? How are patients supposed to check if the tests are covered otherwise? The receptionist did not even know what a CPT code is!!! They have no idea about anything... Worse doctor in Orange County. Every time i try to make an appointment they say they are book for the next two weeks and if I need to see soneone go to the hostpital. I shouldn't have to go to the hospital for a cough! It cost me a lot more and then the hospital gets mad saying I should have seen my primary care doctor. The front desk receptionist rarely will ever answer the phone. She will put you on hold and forget that you are there for 20 minutes. She also happens to send out the referrals, and that ends up being a dragged out slow process because of that. I recommend if you are in Orange County to go to a different PC Doctor. Most programs make it fairly easy to switch, as this is not an office I would recommend using. read more

Graduate of Dow Medical School in Pakistan. A foreign medical graduate (did not attend and learn medicine in a US Medical School). Callous disregard of chronic medical conditions. Does not post his office hours on the outside doors of his office on Victoria Avenue - there is also no posting of his office hours on any website I know of, and his staff will close and lock the office doors at noon and will not unlock them until 2 PM. They will let all phone calls roll over to an answering system which does not even identify the number as being a physician's office. "The party at extension 2000/2005 is not available. Please leave a message after the tone..." Has to be paid extra to do physician specialist referrals. Questionable quality of care. I suspect the good reviews were written by spin doctor agencies paid to make him look better when web searches are done. No dedicated web site to his practice. Appears to be a minimalist who does not care much about patients. Also has the most wheelchair and disabled UNFRIENDLY office waiting room I have ever seen. Extremely hard to get your wheelchairs in there and out of there or even park one or two wheelchairs in the waiting room without excessive crowding and probably breaking fire safety laws. If they ever had a fire there with even two wheelchair patients in the waiting room, everyone would be blocked from safely exiting. read more
