KG Auto is a very honest car mechanic. My car--a four-wheel drive SUV--started to make very loud noises while driving on Highway 495. I had to pull over and called Geico to get my car towed. As I was from out of state and didn't know the area at all, I picked the closest car mechanic, which happened to be KG Auto. At first I was mentally prepared to hear a ridiculously high estimate, as most car mechanics do. After the owner did a pretty thorough check of my car, he concluded the drive shaft was broken, which was the cause of the loud noises. As he couldn't get the parts in before I had to leave town, he offered to remove the broken drive shaft. Without the drive shaft, the car was still drivable. He recommended after I went back to my home state, I should get a new shaft. The entire work took less than 2 hours and he charged me a very reasonable amount. Highly recommend! read more

Dishonest owner and deficient service. The charged me $1200 for spark plug replacement service. I asked for how much for labor and parts breakdown price summary. They could not even provide me that and gave me a redit card receipt instead and verbal warranty of service. Even after paying that price, there was no due diligence done . I took the car back to work. The car would not start after I got home. I had to get it towed again to have him look at it. I can only speculate what he did the first time for repair and charged me $1200. And, second time did he really replace a $60 Spark plug and calling it a $1200 service. He could not provide a receipt on parts and service. Very dishonest person. read more

I took my car in after having problems with getting my car to start. Ivan was more than happy to show me around my car for the troubleshooting portion of the repair process; he covered a slew of things and did simple tests in order to pin-point the problem, all the while explaining every noise & function. The guy was also really flexible with my out-of-the-ordinary paying method (paying 90% of it w/ cash & credit card and the other 10% w/ a post-dated check). My car broke down on the 93 on my way to work, I had to google local places near my home (no andover) and have my car towed there. Luckily, this place picked right up and agreed to take my car then and there, understanding my predicament. They were fast and efficient, my car completed within approximately 3 hours, I was up and running back to work! The mechanic took the time to show me what was going on under my hood (water pump broke which then stop distributing vital fluid to rest of the engine, which caused my car to over heat, air condition to fail, and all other parts to fail-temporarily thank goodness (except for the dip stick container)). I do not know anything about cars so I was happy that someone, who i believe was the owner, took the time to show me, get my car back, and not pretend my car needed more work than it did. At some point during the overheating, my dip stick holder broke (or burned through) also, the employee (or owner) had to locate this piece calling different places and I came back a week later to replace it. Again, my car was fixed within hours and I was back on the road. This was few months ago and no problems so far! read more

So, i was having problem with my car and i brought it to KG so they can give it a tune up and fix a tire. It was the worst mistake cause they charged me $ 389 for a tune up. But, they not even fill the colleen and after a few weeks i was having that same problem with my tire. I took some of my time to write this cause it was a rip off. read more

I asked him to explain to me why it was so expensive and his argument was the spark plugs are not easy to reach! Kiril (aka KG) is very knowledgeable with years of hands-on experience behind him. I had reached out to KG auto repairs for a tire change (wanted to install snow tires) KG noticed that I was due for oil change (wind shield sticker)... For some reason I totally missed the due date !! KG called me to remind me and confirm if he could do oil change while replacing the snow tires. He also fixed the rear brakes on the car at no additional charge. Plus all this was done in quick time unlike some repair chain shops where you've to wait 45 mins for an oil change. Several weeks ago my check engine light came on while I was on my way to work. This was awful as I had to drive down to the Cape later that day for a friend's wedding. Kirill was able to quickly asses what was wrong, do an oil change, and turn off the light and I was still able to get down in time. It turned out it was my catalytic converter. He recommended I get something called Cataclean from down the street for only $20. I've driven about 1,500 miles since and my light hasn't turned back on. Very Disappointing. I used the KG auto repair in Lawrence MA for car repair. My car was damaged under the hood and also, interiors on the driver side were damaged due to carelessness of whoever handled it. Then, they charged me $1200 for the repair saying the parts were costly. When I asked for the receipt, he could not produce the receipt for the actual parts used. Also, charged me $120 just for the diagnostics on top of repair. And. those repairs did not work long enough and I had to take the car to dealer. read more
