They're also playing a larger variety of today's artists and not as much of that emo-girl-hard-rock-band cliche sound that use to be rampant on the station. I'm a fan of the changes. Keep it up!

It was refreshing to find a station that feels genuinely curated rather than run by some algorithm. An adult format that ranged from classics to newer tunes, which we enjoyed even if many of those new tunes were unfamiliar. For as long as we listened, no commercials and it was nice. And I see that they're "New, local and legendary music for North Texas. Commercial-free public radio." "I would Die 4 U" by Prince "Buddy Holly" by Weezer "Spooky" by Dusty Springfield "Constant Craving" by k.d. lang Fabulous tunes and if you're a grownup like me and you like good tunes, find them at 91.7. They have a whole local program that cranks out the jams. There's no real commercials on this station, just public service announcements, and underwriting announcements. The DJs are fun, and not some corporate dudes in a booth, or some AI generated voice that pipes in endless chatter. Instead, you can get a finger on the pulse of the live music scene around, and they focus on bands who are coming through and playing at venues you can visit around town. The music is much more than just some top 40 hits station, or some corporate run Belo or Clear Channel Communications stationit has the local heart and soul of the city of Dallas. If you don't like the music, give it an hour or two, and they'll have something else on later.

There are plenty of country stations across Texas, but this one seems to focus heavily on the bubble gum pop country stuff instead of the classic country. They play too much new stuff, and not enough Merle, Willie, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hank... You know, the real country. If Achy Breaky Heart is country, I just wanna hang my head and cry. There's SO MANY commercials on this station. So Many. So Many Commercials. Blah blah blah blah. I'm gonna have some blue eyes cryin' in the rain if I have to hear another McDonald's jingle while waiting for a classic country song. This station is part of a mega conglomerate of radio stations called Cumulus Media.

In the last hour, I've heard George Strait, Alabama, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Dolly Parton. This is the easy listening of classic country with a touch of outlaw and rowdiness from time to time. I cannot listen to neo-popcountry but still love country music and this hits the spot. I discovered Country Legends on a trip back home and have been listening ever since via streaming on the internet.

I hear a computer system voice during the top 5 with Kelly Raspberry. J-si is a positive person as well. Nice to hear when one is trying to wake up in the morning during eating breakfast. 2. My question are these top 5 here says or does Kelly Raspberry knows 100% of these actors, musicians & others in the entertainment industry? 3. Southern Florida Hotels, is this another voice computer system or is this a recorded person announcer? 4. Part Time Justin: He is a positive DJ, which is great to hear especially during the morning when I am waking up still. 5. Text 0707 is mentioned for what? 6. I noticed the new singers name or band are not being mentioned, why? 7. Traffic announcer is brief. The female announcer is good though, even though she does not have a huge amount of minutes to tell the traffic. She is still articulate. 8. American Express commercial 9. Part Time Justin & J-si: talking about snacks from Kroger, whom has decreased their prices by 4%. 10. Talking about condiments life cycle is a great idea! 11. J-si chatted about a condiment compared to a roach. I thought yucky about the insect. Adding salt & pepper on cottage cheese sounds good. I will try that as well. I eat cottage cheese with jar cold sliced peaches with syrup. 12. More automation after J-si chatted about condiments and cottage cheese. 13. Text 'Hill' to 07407, mentioned by Big Mack. To Win, what? 14. Traffic announcer is whom? She is really good. It goes by so fast, its hard to follow what her first name and the sponsors as well. 15. What is 'Kick Off', to develop credit, which one? Another automation system. 16. Please limit automation. 17. Confusing. The station states Kidd Nation, Kidd Kraddick Show, Which one is it? 18. J-si chatted about green color on jeans. It sounded like Algae to me. 19. I will spread the word about Kiss FM 106.1 hiring on ZipRecruiter.com. Thanks! I will provide to others whom are starting in the job force from the church I attend. 20. Great mentioning reading soft & hard books from Barnes & Noble, as well as the Audible. 21. Winning $1,000 that is fun! 22. J-si reminds me of my grate nephew look wise. Due to that, my nephew seems to have better self-esteem. Happy for J-si & his wife Lindsey of their successful marriage and raising 2 children in 2025. 23. Pre-recorded message from a listening about his wife having love handles. 24. Listener requesting others to say "Happy Birthday" to her son. 25. Listener requesting Radio stations not to play "Manic Monday' song on others days of the week, but instead just on Mondays. Makes sense. 26, Since this is also a family radio station. I am suggesting to play some Religious Godly songs here & there to test how Listeners take this type of music (genre). I would think Kelly Raspberry listens to these. The music has changed big time. They have similar upbeats and rhythms as well, lyrics are different. One band, that comes to my mind is 'King & Country'. 27. Automation system mentions Podcasting. My suggestion is get a live person to discuss this instead an automation computer system. Plus, it will get others to earn money, especially the new generation whom will be graduating High School in May 2025.

I like the music format; some Indie mixed in there, some retro 80's, and most importantly some local stuff like Oso Closo among others...They also play alt country like Drive by truckers, Steve Earl, etc...and some Americana and Folk roots music...Now for the down side, they need to change up the list more often...I hear the same list of the same songs by the same bands pretty often. So I would like if they would change it up sometimes and play something new and fresh. Also another down is the Webpages have NOT been updated in ages!!! And they really don't make good on answering emails...So if you want to contact them I suggest the listener line since I have gotten a hold of them that way. So much potential for this great radio station. I know it's a college station, but come on teach, lets get these kids to update the webpage at least once a month! Also, I really don't like the classic music for 2 hours. Arghhh...I put a CD on. ALso, the info shows are not necessary. I don't really wanna hear fanboy radio or a married couple talk about their home projects. Just stick with Music and maybe news and traffic. Keep on keeping on KTCU!!!
