I started Orange Theory Fitness (OTF) in December during a BOGO sign up promotion. I thought I…read morewould just do the two months and be done, but I am hooked. My favorite part is everything--the coaches, the people who come, that all fitness levels can do the workouts. The workouts are a combo of treadmill, rowing, and weight lifting. Running is not required, and walkers can participate. I've slowly started to add more running. Sign up is so easy, and the OTF app is very user friendly. It is fun to celebrate your own milestones and others. I love the heart rate monitor because it lets me know when I am overdoing it or need to put in more effort. They also recently purchased new treadmills!

One of our coaches is a Doctor of Physical Therapy too! The community is amazing with supportive people who support you in and out of class. The gym owners ( Jamie, Matt, and Mitch) are always planning fun events for the community and the members. Friendsgiving, BBQ's, Burpees for Breast Cancer, Christmas party, and gymnastic workshops are just some examples. The facility is top notch. There is tons of equipment and space so you don't have to be worried about sharing a barbell or bumping into others while working out. It's also a dog friend gym. You'll love Kilo, Dash, Bolt, Widow, and Phil. I would highly recommend giving this crossfit gym a try.

They were incredibly friendly and upbeat. I dropped in to perform 19.4 with them during their Friday Night lights and the atmosphere was electric. People cheering you on as you went and all of the coaches there made sure to push you but give you advice on form and safety at the same time. It was an awesome experience! If I lived in Michigan, I would join this box without question. Thanks to Mitch, Alan, Jamie, Matt, Evan, Billy, and April for the hospitality!

Having just traveled away from the Detroit area for a few days, and having done yoga elsewhere, I…read morereturn to Northville Yoga with gratitude, not just for the lovely, spacious facility, but especially for the wisdom and patience of the highly qualified instructors who grace us with their classes. On some weeks, I make it to Northville Yoga 5 times, usually 4, per week, and can recommend this center as an alternative to the heat enduced experience at certain locales, and also to the hip-hop and contemporary rock sound track that now permeates many studios. The yoga practiced here is hatha, usually quite manageable for beginners and intermediate practitioners. There is truly no pressure and no judgement in these classes, and I could not imagine a better place to begin to practice yoga.

Yes, it had been 2 years ago, but when I bought them I was told they did not have an expiration date, otherwise I would have bought a smaller package since I was in the last trimester of my pregnancy. Instead, the owner informed me that the 2 classes I had purchased would not be honored (i guess they magically expired), and then she immediately tried to sell me a new package! Wow. I WAS going to buy another package after I used my 2 classes I had left, but why would I want to give more money to a place that didn't even give me what I paid for last time? Please. I will be going somewhere else, thank you. Also of worth to mention, I disliked how when I brought my sister (who had never done yoga before) with me one of the times for a drop-in class, she was not even allowed to try it free. Every reputable yoga center (and I've been to several in the ann arbor and detroit area) at least lets you try your first class for free. It's called customer service.
