The gym is nicely organized, well maintained and had a great vibe from the tribe. Dropping in was no problem and at a competitive price. They had plenty of equipment for a large class (about 20) and Nina (the coach) did an excellent job with breaking down the work out of the day. From a outsiders perspective, the communication was clear, concise and led to a great pre-holiday workout. If you're in town and want to drop in or join to upgrade yourself then you're in good hands at CrossfitBrighton.

This review isn't related the the golfing there. We attended a wedding there this past weekend. Not…read moreonly was the room beautiful and the service great, but the food was excellent, as well. My only complaint was that the stir fry section slowed the buffet line down a lot. Since we were last to eat it was a long wait, and other people were finished long before we got our food. To be honest, I thought the stir-fry was the weakest part of the meal and I was disappointed that they ran out of the roast beef, because the bit I tasted off my neighbor's plate was so good. The pork they served was really yummy. Beautiful place, I would definitely recommend it to others.

The Burger was OK and really nothing out of the ordinary as were the fries. My margarita, which was on the rocks, was the highlight of my meal and was well made and quite tasty. Staff was quite nice and accommodating and did a good job of taking care of our party of 14 with good follow up throughout the meal. I could definitely see this being a nice place to dine for a larger gathering/event as it looks like they are set up to handle events like this.

I have been coming to Plymouth Yoga Room for around three years. I started going for the physical…read morework out, and I keep going because the instructors and members challenge me in other ways, too. Though I don't talk to many people while there, I feel welcome and part of the community. I appreciate the variety in approaches of the instructors, and I appreciate seeing the wide range of people who attend classes. The facility is very clean and inviting. Inside the studios, the wood floors make the light soft and warm. The heat panels make entering the studios feel like an escape - especially in winter. With regard to the instruction, I feel most challenged in classes led by Polly and Mary. Polly steadily directs corrections and modifications that lead to better posture for safe and healthy workouts. Though I attend a fair amount of classes and maybe shouldn't need those reminders, I appreciate and miss them with most of the other instructors. Polly also teaches a lot of classes (in Northville, too), so if consistency of instruction is important, you'll have lots of options. Mary's voice makes me think she's going to go easy, yet I always come out of her classes thankful for how great of a workout I've gotten. Something about her style and approach to flow sends my mind the message that what she's asking isn't hard, and then moments later my thighs are burning or my abs are crying. I have also attended ashtanga and yin classes at Plymouth Yoga Room. I like the collective, habitual practice of ashtanga and the slower-paced, super stretching of yin. Kendall, at the front desk, is an angel. She seems to know everyone's name, and she sees people. The amount of energy and skill required to do so - given the number and variety of people that come through - is admirable. From time-to-time, classes are too full for me. Being a member of the studio is a significant investment. I want the owners to make money, and I want the instructors and staff to be well-paid. I don't want to run into someone else's body during class. Yes, I understand that those ideas can come into conflict, so when it bothers me, I work hard to let it go. If PYR were a lesser service in any other regard, I would not. Outside of the regularly scheduled classes, PYR sometimes offers workshops that dig into postures (standing, sitting, etc), types of yoga (yin), or meditation. I have enjoyed all of the ones I've attended and find the additional cost reasonable for the level of instruction. I would love more frequent, deeper meditation sessions. Plymouth Yoga Room is probably not for everyone. It provides a high level of fitness and instruction for those it serves.

In my opinion, their cardio is great and the weight machines, which were updated last year, are also very good. I like the quiet, non-assuming atmosphere. For the most part, patrons keep to themselves and that is fine. The gym is basically clean and they provide wipes to clean the machines after using them. I like that. The reason for the lower rating is that for all the years I have been a member, there are but a handful of, actual, friendly staff members. A few great ones that go back a long way, but for the most part, the staff is not welcoming or at all personable. So, do not join for the customer service, just come for the good equipment and cleanliness. And one big thing is that during the summer, the ac is never adequate! Adding ceiling fans would be a welcome addition to the workout facility!
