I'm not going to lie - i was scared/nervous (borderline panic attack during situation) but i knew i need a push and someone to hold me accountable. I can't tell you how patience ALL THE COACHES are - i mean ALL. Whatever stage in fitness you're at; it perfectly fine. (Yeah yeah you here that all time) But they are serious!!! I've officially been a member since March 2024; still showing up and challenging myself. Initially you will have a period when you look at everyone (comparing yourself) but everyone is SO SUPPORTIVE. All ages, co-ed, showers available, and mini lockers (optional)... wait you have a weird work schedule? So does all the coaches/owner. Lol! Classes available starting at 5am til 6:30pm - about 5 sessions or more and some days you'll have open gym. Bonus - they have physical therapy onsite (appointment only). Just take a look and i promise you'll get hooked.

I'm new to Ann Arbor Michigan. I moved here in April 2024…read morefrom Southern California where I lived for 60 years. I had a lot of health issues but I never dreamed of joining a gym in California, see I'm overweight and had never seen the inside of a gym. I joined this gym Applied Fitness Solutions about three months ago and it was the best investment in my life, no regrets! In California the gym's are intimidating because everyone that goes to a gym, in my opinion have perfect bodies and everyone is big on their looks. That being said, AFS is so different and so much better! Their trainers are highly qualified, supportive, knowledgeable in every aspect of the body. They are there to help you reconnect your mind to your body. The gym members are regular people that have an interest and investing in a better lifetime with the body they have. You make an appointment and you follow the process so they get to know what your goals are for you. I truly know if you take this step to invest in yourself you will not regret it and will see results and like everything in life it's hard in the beginning but eventually it becomes a way of life with great health mentally and physically. I highly recommend Applied Fitness Solutions!!!

The trainers and clients are all friendly and supportive. Clients run the full range of shapes, sizes, age (high school to 70s+ years of age), ethnicities... i attribute my lack of medical problems (I'm in my 50s and take no meds), being mindful of good form/avoiding injury, and reaching my goal of being no more than 10 lbs above my high school weight to this gym! They also have great HIIT workouts for boosting your metabolism...but it's too far for me to go more than 2 days a week, so I just stick to the strength (weight training) workouts.

NOTE: the current facility is temporary until the new facility is completed across the street.

If you are a new client or new to the Step classes, I would HIGHLY recommend NOT taking Judy's…read more"Step It Up" class. I had a horrible experience in her class. I was new to her class that day, but I've taken Step classes at other gyms for years. She is very intense and after noticing that I made a few mistakes on her steps only 15 minutes into the class, she walked over, told me "STOP STOP STOP", and ripped the risers out from under me. I was so offended. If you want new clients to continue taking your classes, you need to ENCOURAGE them at the level that THEY believe is right for them. You as the instructor do not determine that. She was constantly shouting and gave ZERO alternative steps for beginners. You either picked it up or she kept yelling. It was a great workout because she was so intense and that's why I rated the class two stars, but if you are a beginner, you will feel so discouraged with her. I recommend taking someone else's class.

My favorite part is everything--the coaches, the people who come, that all fitness levels can do the workouts. The workouts are a combo of treadmill, rowing, and weight lifting. Running is not required, and walkers can participate. I've slowly started to add more running. Sign up is so easy, and the OTF app is very user friendly. It is fun to celebrate your own milestones and others. I love the heart rate monitor because it lets me know when I am overdoing it or need to put in more effort. They also recently purchased new treadmills!

I ended up going twice and I was extremely pleased both times. The coaching was very good and diverse. We had an olympic complex WOD that was coached by an oly-trained coach. It's clean, organized and the attention to form was appreciated. I highly recommend.

Oh boy. Where to even begin??…read more I started coming to CF Novi almost 5 months ago and have been completely and utterly blown away by the impact this gym has had on my health and well-being. I had no prior athletic experience when I started coming to CrossFit Novi and when I would go to the gym I wouldn't stray further than the treadmill. The coaches here made me feel 100% comfortable and at home immediatly. They spent a TON of time, care, and attention teaching me the basics and have been great about scaling/customizing the workouts to my level. I cannot stress enough just how great these coaches are. With their help so far I've lost 30 pounds and have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge, strength, & new skills (hoorayyyy wall kick ups and double-unders ). Their patience and possitivity has been outstanding. Other perks - The box is big, beautiful, and super clean, they have showers, & the people who go here are all extremely pleasant. I think all these good reviews are written by the staff. Reality is very different! When you go on…read moreline you see a beautiful gym, they have been marketing a lot lately with AI, enhancing features to the trainers, making the facility seem clean and polished. The pictures show the reality (there was a previous picture of a big rusted hole in a women's locker, that was reported 9 months ago and is still there!) Buckets and towels all over the place when it rains, holes in the drywall above the walking track, stained ceilings, etc. They say the pool is heated, it's always really cold (Someone posted that on face book and they took down that comment immediately, they do that with negative comments). They also say that the place is cleaned every evening, you might want to get a refund and find a new cleaner! The owners are very rude and the manager can be rude at times also. The gym members are typically older and have been going there for years, yet they are putting on new classes aimed at the younger crowd! And don't get me started on the smell, it hits you as soon as you walk in the door, smells like someone or something died in there and it also smells of mold. And no air conditioning. Very surprised the city has not shut this place down! So, if you are looking for a slightly higher prices gym, that is dirty, run down and smelly with no air conditioning, this is the place to do. Don't believe me, just go and tour the place.
