Wow, either KFC has fallen from grace or this location is just terrible, possibly both. I expected the same experience as I've received in every KFC I've been to in 25 states over the past 40 years. I got the 10 piece family deal with mashed potatoes & gravy, cole slaw, and biscuits. The taste & quality of the food was not good, seemed like reheated convent store food instead of normal KFC consistency. Everything tasted just so synthetic. Everyone had a couple of bites of everything, and we just threw it all away it was so bad (and tiny pieces). The ambiance was off; inside the restaurant looked and smelled dirty, and the corridor to the bathrooms looks like something from an evil-clown movie. The service was off a bit, I understand today's setting of online & delivery app orders, but having to wait at the counter for the guy to take drive thru orders seemed odd. No one was mean or rude, but to not serve butter & honey with the biscuits showed me that KFC, maybe this one or all, just isn't the same as it has been. read more

They had me wait in the only pick up order parking spot in front. (Plenary of windows to see me) 30 minutes later had to go remind them. Typical ordering of the food just for them to forget half the order after I drove all the way home . Returned to the store for them to fix the mistake just to receive raw chicken and our Taco Bell portion of the meal had old dry refried beans and half the condiments that usually come on the food was missing . I have attempted to buy chicken at this restaurant 5 times. I have NEVER walked away with chicken. 4 of the 5 times they didn't have any chicken cooked and told me I would have to wait 30 minutes. I could see it, maybe if I was arriving during the lunch rush or something, but it's been the same story every time, with times varying from 12:00 N to 8 PM. Once I was told they were "evacuating" so they were unable to take my order at all. We sat in the parking lot for several minutes contemplating where else we wanted to try. No customers walked out. Ordered a 3 piece original with an order if 5 hot wings. Issue #1 - hot wings were extremely old and dry. Was like eating a crispy hard shell Issue #2 - biscuit was hard and brown Issue #3 - 3 piece original meal I received 2 thighs and a leg. Would think for the price a breast would be included. Do not recommend this KFC. Ordered a 16 piece bucket with Potato Planks and cole slaw for sides (2 each) and a small side of gravy. It was to come with 4 free cinabon biscuits, per the posted sign. Ordered was delivered without free biscuits. Manager said that order did not come with biscuits but would give them anyway. When I got outside I did not remember seeing the potatoes or original KFC biscuits. The manager gave me another bag which I assumed contained the rest off my order. My bad as I did not check the contents. When I opened the order at home found I was given mashed potatoes and gravy not what I ordered. It would have been a 14 mile drive to return the order. I wish there was a way to give 1/10th of a star! My granddaughter drove me to my dentist in Schertz, TX this afternoon, and on the way home we discovered that a KFC was close by. As i seldom go out, once every month or so, I asked my granddaughter to take me to the nearby KFC on I-35 in Schertz. I purchased a bucket of chicken at about 3 PM or a bit later. Two pieces were to be for me and the other eight (8) pieces were for my granddaughter to take home for the rest of the family. The chicken that was in the bucket must have been left-over chicken from the lunch hour --- hopefully not from last night. It was dripping grease and was dark brown -- but barely any crisp bits on each piece. I have never been served such low quality cooked chicken from any KFC in over 50 years. There is no way that I can describe how disappointed I was as well as disgusted. Not only will I never go to THAT KFC again but I will think about what I was served today ANYTIME I get a hankering to have KFC. I AM NOT LIKELY TO EVER EAT KFC AGAIN! It is so difficult to erase a bad memory. Maybe I should be thankful that I will forever-after save money by not ever buying KFC again! I did a Google search for KFC and this is what I found: http://www.kfc.com/menu/chicken/original-recipe "KFC Original Recipe chicken is made fresh throughout the day by a certified cook with the same secret 11 herbs and spices the Colonel perfected in 1940." Apparently, KFC headquarters has never checked out the Schertz, TX KFC on I-35. If they had, no doubt they would have shut them down!! If you are a KFC inspector, I suggest that you sample each facility at various times of the day and on various days of the week. It is my belief that any chicken not sold within 15 to 20 minutes of coming out of the pressure-fryer should be discarded. Maybe it could be GIVEN to the employees to take home, but it should NEVER BE SOLD TO A CUSTOMER. The employee/employees taking home the "old" chicken could at least de-bone it and feed it to their cats or dogs. Continuing on our way home, my granddaughter stopped at the small local grocery story near where I live. The store had whole chickens on sale for 89 cents a pound. A fresh three pound chicken would cost $2.67. I paid $10.00 for the bucket of chicken plus about 83 cents for tax. Just now on the Internet, I found a recipe for a mix of 11 herbs and spices similar to KFC's recipe. I will now invest in those 11 herbs and spices and cook chicken at home. Thank you "Schertz KFC" for a lesson well-learned! The chicken in the bucket was not very hot so I hope it had not been left out long enough to begin spoiling. I for sure do not want food poisoning. The worst KFC I've ever been to. I'm hoping that because it has Taco Bell and Pizza Hut that may be a reason for why they're so terrible. I've been here multiple times at this location and it's been anywhere from 1-2 hours before they closed and they tell me they're "out of chicken" more like they're too lazy to cook more. In addition they're out of the sides. Minding you its 8 or 9 pm and they close at 11. It's the closest one to me so I try to give it another chance but after tonight I'm done going there . Try to go to Bush's chicken it's literally right down the street and the chicken is wayyyy better and the service is amazing . They close at 10 and it was almost 930 and they didn't give me any hard times and they had my entire order. There were multiple cars there so I'm pretty sure that was kfc customers !
