Food was cold and overcooked, I ordered and before I could finish my drink it was up and ready. I was one of two people in the store. When I got home, the cold, overcooked chicken strips box burst open throwing my food all over the ground outside my door. My thigh was from a baby chicken I ordered an 8-piece bucket at the KFC at 8242 Little Rd in New Port Richey Florida, 34664. My chicken was dry as hell and one of my thighs was the size of a Silver dollar, no joke! It must have come from a baby chick. needless to say, my family was very disappointed. So we were 1 piece short because no one would eat it. That's the last time I will be eating their chicken ever again. I had it with them. For now on and forever I will be buying my 8-piece chicken at Publix, which my family likes much better anyway, but was passing by this location coming home from an appointment. We waited a good 15 minutes for our food, as we sat waiting, we began to notice how filthy the place was. There was an old rug hanging on the wall next to the kitchen too. What manager decided that was a good idea? "Alright guys... the new entrance rugs are in. Take the old ones, clean them the best you can and mount them on the wall next to the kitchen." Asked for grilled chicken and was told, "Ummm.. like... we don't like ummm have grilled chicken I don't think." She then went to the kitchen and returned to say that they indeed not have grilled chicken, despite the fact that I had ordered it in the past. Can't remember how many years it's been since I ate at a KFC. Recently while moving, it sounded like the right food for the occasion. Yup, it's fast food. Yup, it's friend. But, there is no denying they have some BIG pieces of chicken & it is friend perfectly. The chicken is never over cooked or undercooked. It is always nice & juicy. The faux mashed potatoes, I can live without, really pretty disquesting. The coleslaw is good & crisp & not drenched in dressing. Since my last visit was so long ago, the biscuts have changed & are smaller & more commercial. No flaky big biscuts here. What's a girl to do? I have not had KFC for a couple of years, I got 12 piece bucket of original. It came to over $20.00 thats $1.66 for a piece of chicken. I took it home and started eating the first thing I notices was the amount of broken bones in each piece, they must beat the hell out of their chickens to break that many bones, each piece had several broken bones in it. I got the original it sure didnt taste like it use to. I will never eat KFC in any form again. This is probably the worse KFC I've ever been too, always closing early, which is aggravating when u check online first and they say they are open. It never occurred to me that this would ever happen...until I saw it with my own eyes! I paid for an 8 piece bucket of extra crispy and took home 8 pieces of chicken from the Publix Deli repackaged in a KFC bucket. I'm used to getting shorted a breast or sometimes even two. I'm pretty sure that happens at every KFC on Earth including this one. This, however, is over the top chicken fraud! I should have realized as soon as I opened the bucket and saw the largest chicken breast I have ever seen at KFC. With the help of my dogs, I struggled through most of a dry, not tender, not finger licking good breast. After a couple of bites of a thigh, and deciding my dogs had had enough, I tossed the remainder of the two pieces in the garbage. It wasn't until I attempted to go back to it cold the next day that I immediately realized it was from Publix. The large pieces, the unbroken wing bones, thick breading, and aroma were unmistakable. In fact, as all these clues came together in my mind, I realized that these 8 pieces actually came in a 12 piece bucket. Clearly, they would not fit an an 8 piece bucket. I'm not trying to knock Publix here. Their chicken is good if you catch it when it hasn't been in the hotbox for too long. It's also convenient and affordable (about half the price of KFC). It is not interchangeable with KFC, however. How anybody thinks it could be....I don't even have words. Greed, apathy, maybe they were on Meth? I should point out that we are currently under the COVID 19 stay at home order and the restaurants that are open to go are busy. There is no excuse for this, however.
