When I was in high school (early '70's) I earned my tuition money working at KFC (you could do that then). There were certain things we always did, properly count what went into a bucket of chicken. Four thighs, three legs, one breast and one wing did not make an eight piece bucket. Cole slaw tasted right, gravy was great, mashed potatoes were slightly less thick than the gravy. I went to KFC at Foothills mall. Maryville Tn. They were OUT of chicken! They still had 1 hour and 10 mins before close. I ended up getting chicken tenders which were not tender at all. They've been sitting in the pan for a while. Or wherever they keep the cooked chicken. Strips were cold as well. The 4 bites of Mac n cheese tasted good. They've made the serving size very small. And the Dr pepper needs to be changed. There was more soda water then Dr pepper syrup. So to sum it up. It sucked! It doesn't seem to matter what kind of meal they make. It's always extremely disappointing. I worked here about four years ago and the management was absolutely ridiculous. They used to have me clock out at 10 o'clock but continue to work me in till 11:30 PM on top of that the manager used it to get so angry, that she would go in her office and eat a Xanax just to deal with the employees. The reviews here are roasting this place and every kfc where I'm from is terrible. I haven't had it in years because of how bad it is in Indiana. Anyway tried this location now that I live near by and heard kfc had really good chicken sandwiches. What the heck give it a shot. The spicy chicken sandwich is the best I've had from anywhere and surpassed chic fil a skinny expensive sandwich. I grew up with this KFC, it's great quality but at a high price, it's always been this way and I don't see it changing. There are other places in this area with better food too, namely Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken and for a much lower price. That being said KFC has great chicken and sides, namely the mashed potatoes, but given you're near better tasting chicken I would opt going to Lee's for the Liver dinner they have there. It's the best around and let's face it, KFC is only a place you'll visit once is a blue moon anyways because of the high prices. I want to stress though that KFC has great customer service, it's just that spending $20 on two people for dinner at a fast food place is just a bit more than what I'm looking for when trying to find value in my fast food outing. read more

Chicken was good. Mashed potatoes tasted and smelled like instant potatoes... dining area was disgusting, looks like it had not been cleaned all day. We were there before the typical dinner rush. No soap in the women's bathroom and a worker used the restroom and I am not certain how she washed her hands, no hand sanitizer available in the dining hall either, and there is a buffet... We ordered a $5 fill up box and were charged $11 something at the window after we realized we'd just been charged that, we mentioned it, waited for someone to come tell us they would have to give us the change back in cash since we were charged on our card, we said that was fine. Wow what an experience. Went here Sunday after church. It was not crowded, but was kinda full. I ended up getting the buffet. Not very expensive and came with a drink so that was great. My first problem came when the cashier said he hated Christians and churches. I was afraid to ask why so I payed and walked to the side. Apparently I didn't get my tray with styrofoam plates so the manager was mad at the other cashier. Anyway I got some food but there was no drumsticks. Came back up and they were just putting out some fresh chicken. I saw some drumsticks so I got some with the tongs. All of the sudden, a decrepit woman arose from behind the bar and said ma'am you're supposed to get the chicken from the front!!!! For one, I am a man. And secondly, I didn't sign up for the kfc buffet 101 class so how was I supposed to know. Anyway I was kinda upset so I went back and ate and went back and got scolded again. I was pretty full by this time so I was only going to get some small things. She arises again and shouts "ma'am!!!! You're supposed to get a clean plate each time!!!!!!" And i pulled a plate off my tray, revealing that it was completely unused. She was mad that the had been wronged and disappeared. This is the worst place ever. When I was getting my order the lady on the speaker was so impatient with us and we just picked something because we got annoyed. When she got our card she had the most pissed off look on her face. Than another girl came by and handed me our food with my famous bowel on the bottom being spilt over. I went back inside to maybe get one re made and it was another girl that was actually nice saying she will make a new one. As I watched them another girl swooped in and just cleaned around the old bowel and put it back in the bag to hand back to me. I was already hungry and mad at this point but just went with it because I don't like to start a scene. I walk back to my car and ask my girlfriend if there's anything else that was wrong and she showed me one of the cinnamon biscuits that we really wanted to try looked like it had a bite in it. I am going to have to disagree with the other reviewer regarding KFC's customer service. My experience is that they have become too big for their britches. The chicken is always good, the sides are mediocre, but the last three years have gone downhill for service. My husband and I went to KFC today for lunch. we only wanted a bucket of chicken and our preference is dark meat only. The manager, a mature blond, refused to allow only dark meat. The posted menu had no buckets of chicken listed, so we were told how much they were. We decided that $15 for ten pieces of chicken, half of which would certainly be unwanted breasts and wings, was too high a price to pay. So we left. I do agree with the reviewer that recommended Lee's. The service was excellent (they asked exactly how many drumsticks and how many thighs we wanted), the food was super, and the price was right ($13 for ten pieces of chicken of our choice). I ordered the 20 piece hot wings and large mashed potatoes through the drive thru and was told I would have to wait 10 minutes and asked to pull around to the door. Not a common order so I expected I would have to wait for them...no problem. I watched the girl who took my order take two individual orders out to cars that came after me around 15 minutes in to this fiasco. After 25 minutes I walked inside to inquire about my order. The woman at the register seemed apologetic and when she asked a girl walking by where the wings were she simply said "I'm busy with other orders!". There had been two cars go through the line and 1 person in the restaurant the entire time I had been there. The cashier waited and waited and finally said "I'll go get them". She couldn't find them! She yelled "Where's the hotwings?!". They were still in the fryer basket after all this time!! She got my order and handed it to me and said "I'm sorry about your wait I put a cookie inside". We love KFC. bit absolutely hate this location. Today is the third time we've been in the past few months and this will be our last. The first two times the got orders wrong, lied about why they took so long to get us served in a timely manner, and the food was cold. Tonight we came through the drive through ordered two $5 boxes. Asked for extra cup of ice, the woman (an older lady, very hateful and rude to my daughter and I) said that she would have to charge me full price for "ice!" She said quote " I'm sorry I'm not the manager and that is what they told us to do!" However, when we got home we opened one of our boxes and "THERE WAS NO CHICKEN." I called them, the same old lady answered and instead of apologizing and offering to make it right, she asked me if I "had a receipt!" I asked her if she was serious since I was obviously just there. She said "I'm sorry but without a receipt, there's nothing I can do." So I found receipt, went back to store, and then had to wait while they had to correct two other customer orders they had also gotten wrong. The woman then claimed to be the "manager" and proceeded to argue with me all the while being hateful. The whole time we were there, other employees were shaking their heads and mouthing "I'm sorry!" We went to get this chicken after waiting all day not eating because I had medical test that I couldn't eat before they were done and was very disappointed. It was between 3:30 and 4:00 that we was there. The place was dirty food left on tables, food all around the trash bin, around the drink station was a mess, bathroom was dirty, my husband said the employees even looked dirty. They were not friendly at all acted like they were doing us a favor. Now to the food. The food bar looked like the food was a week old. The mashed potatoes was dry, the white gravy was not gravy it was like pouring milk on potatoes they just watered it down too much. The bread pudding was just that bread no pudding. They only put out chicken that was over cooked not like the KFC chicken that we use to love. We paid $19.00 for two buffets and will never do this again. If you like KFC go to the one in Lenoir City you will not be disappointed there. read more
