I've been coming here my whole life, back to when I was a kid. For years, I've also been bringing my grandma here every Thursday. That's been our routine for longer than I can remember. Unfortunately, we're about done. Everyone has a line, and ours is this. A hot dog plate with fries and a cheeseburger plate with fries comes out to right at $25, and that's with NO DRINKS. I always thought a "plate" included a drink, but it doesn't. Add $5 for two drinks. If you throw in a milkshake or a slice of pie, you're suddenly in the same price range as Outback Steakhouse. For us, it just isn't worth $30. $30 and that's the cheaper things on the menu for just two people. I know people will blame the economy, the president, or say "they have bills to pay too". I get all that. But at some point, it stops being inflation and starts feeling like greed. And it's only going to continue until people call it out and choose to eat somewhere else. As for the ambiance, since Yelp asks about it, I'll just say this. In the 30 years I've been coming here, nothing has changed. No upgrades, no updates. It's exactly the same as it's always been. It's clear none of the profits have been put back into the restaurant to improve it. The same drink machine has been filling cokes for probably 40 years, the bathrooms are pretty gross, the parking lot has never been replaced, and they don't take Apple Pay. If you're looking for an alternative, check out Arnold's in the square. The food is better and it's significantly cheaper. It's disappointing, because this place used to mean something to us. But everyone has to draw the line somewhere, and this is where we draw ours.

I looked at our bill and it was $21.46 and I see they've charged her for two chicken tenders, which we didn't order and they didn't give us. My wife went up to check on it and they said they were brining out two tenders for her. Finally they came out with the tenders after another five minutes. She really didn't like the salad. Several frantic calls to Wendy's went unanswered, so I took a shot and called Hardee's. Mr. Cardin collected my wife's purse and returned it to her via UPS Overnight the very next day. There were a number of credit cards and a sizable amount of cash in her rather expensive Michael Kors purse. The good folks at Wendy's kept it safe, and Mr. Cardin returned it with everything we'd hoped would still be there. So very thankful for the integrity all around and Joe's eagerness to go the extra mile for a stranger.
