Don't ever use this company. They are scammers who over promise and massively under deliver. Their build quality is garbage and so are their promises. Things are falling apart day 1 and they are ignoring all calls despite having a 1 year warranty on their 'work'. They got paint everywhere and their craftsmanship is that of a complete novice. DEEPLY CONCERNED about what will break next. They will also overcharge all other options by 20-40percent while constantly breaking your things and trying to up charge you, horrible value. read more

We had searched for a contractor that was willing to provide a fair price and quick action for over two years - KEYSTONE REMODELING filled those requirements with ease. Our initial walkthrough of the project was led by Ely, and he listened to our requirements with his team foreman Fernando thoughtfully, understanding our concerns. They returned on a Monday and completed the job within two days. The team was also exceptionally patient and helpful in picking out the window to replace the balcony door. We decided to have our kitchen island counter top replaced(was black laminate-20 years old) and after much online research we decided on using black Quartz. We partnered with Keystone Remodeling Inc. of Bellevue, WA. who sent John Mol and May Fisher as Project Managers to oversee the project. Even though this was a relatively small job they made us feel that it was a 'major' one. They found just the 'right' black Quartz and started the process. We also used a black Quartz sink and black faucet to coordinate the look. Two weeks later the project was completed and looks great-It took the installer about three hours to remove the old items and install the new ones-he was 'super-great'. Hands down the worst contractor I've ever worked with. From a phone tree that doesn't work to a back deck I paid a fortune for and could have done a better job of myself, I wouldn't recommend them for fear of my own reputation. Terrible quality, terrible service and expensive. Hard pass. read more

Primary reason didn't use them was found lower bids. Secondary factors included wanting more, larger projects, that were more extensive remodeling and pushing their Israeli identity. Said they didn't want my business if I had a problem with them being Israeli (I wouldn't have known and didn't care); all I wanted was quality work done WITHOUT any politics, party affliliation, religion, race, ethnicity, etc. considerations. Acted very unprofessional and promised to send estimates which he never did. I did not expect him to follow through with his attitude and looking down on people. I really wanted to be happy with this company; however, we had nothing but problems during the renovation of our bathroom and have had several issues since completion. The biggest selling point for this company was that we would have two points of contact managing the project and that they did not use subcontractors (they assured me that this meant that they could have one tradesman right after another, completing the project quickly and correctly (since these were licensed professionals, that were company employees on all of their projects)). They were, by far, the highest quote we got (by $15,000) but assured us that the quality they provided was worth the additional cost. During the bathroom renovation, we had trouble getting the company's people to show up for several weeks. Our main frustration was that the lack of communication. After several instances of no-shows, I specifically and repeatedly requested to be informed who was expected to come that day (or if nobody would be coming). We tried to be reasonable and flexible regarding this, knowing that sometimes these things are beyond the company's control; however, the lack of communication was frustrating. We were originally told that the project would take 2 to 3 weeks (our contract providing that it must be completed within four weeks). Six weeks later we had a (mostly functional) bathroom. They blamed the 2 week delay on change orders (basically updating the plumbing and electrical; something we had discussed during the meeting to get the original quote. I strongly suspect that the two "leads" managing the project have never actually done construction themselves as they seemed puzzled by things like lath and plaster in 100-year-old home - again, despite discussion of the lath and plaster during our initial meeting). During the installation of the plumbing, they had one of their guys working on the bathtub who was not a licensed plumber; he ended up breaking the valve in the faucet and a new one needed to be acquired (They told us they could not get a new part for three months as the piece was proprietary; thankfully, I was able to contact the restoration hardware directly, explain the situation, and they sent an entirely new trim kit). This time, they did have the plumber install it. When we tried it out, he had to be called back because he had not installed it correctly to run hot water. The water now gets warm (not hot - slightly above lukewarm) and needs to be repaired. If that was the only problem, I would be thrilled. However, we have since discovered that the overflow drain was not properly installed (despite having opened the walls and ceiling below to replace all the plumbing). It now leaks into the ceiling downstairs every time the water hits the overflow drain and has damaged the plaster. About three weeks after "completion," the pull on the trim kit that switches the water from the bath faucet to the shower head pulled out of the faucet (as it, also, had not been installed correctly - so the water no longer goes to the shower head at all). We had electrical updated and additional outlets put into the walls. Only the outlets on one side of the bathroom work; the other two outlets (opposite wall) have no electrical current. The countertop on the vanity was not leveled when installed so now water splashes out of the sink and pools against the wall behind the sink. Unfortunately, it has already started to seep into the drywall, despite our best efforts to keep the area dry. The caulk was messy and inexpertly applied (thickly globbed around the one side of the toilet, not fully covering the portion that connects the sink to the countertop). Finally, the towel-bar and toilet-paper roll holder were installed into drywall without any anchors, so they pulled out within two days -- they had to be repaired and reinstalled. The bathroom looks lovely (primarily due to the perfectionism of the tiler, who was meticulous and did fantastic work). I wish it functioned as well as it appears. As the saying goes: it's good from far but far from good. The team also installed railings on our deck (which needed to be repaired several times before they stopped wiggling loose and were safe for use) - similarly, had trouble getting them to show but nothing nearly as egregious as the bathroom. In the end, I wish I had done better research and looked into Better Business Bureau complaints against them before I hired them (for the record - they have 3 official complaints and an F-rating). read more

Short review - High quality! If you know what you want and what your budget is, communicate with Keystone and they will partner with you through the end. If not, then good luck finding a Seattle contractor that is reliable and delivers on their word. They are also properly licensed and bonded and not an LLC (very important to know for anyone new to this industry). Long review: The downstairs of our house flooded 6 days after move-in...362 days ago. We worked with insurance and a contractor, but still couldn't get everything done in time and on budget. It has been such a struggle to get people to arrive on time (or even at all) as well as even close to on-budget from the insurance claim. As we neared the 1-year mark and still didn't have a working bathroom downstairs, we needed to find an alternative. So we reached out to 22 companies, received quotes from 8. Keystone was third lowest in price, but still half the price of three other bids. The two cheaper bids were from LLCs that were vague and didn't instill confidence at their visit. As a woman talking to endless contractors, it meant so much to me that Keystone sent people over who LISTENED and respected me, following all my blueprints and designs. We had a tight budget, and our other contractor hadn't come through, so we really needed someone to button up our downstairs rebuild/remodel by finishing our bathroom. Bathroom was mostly gutted and we had all the materials on site. Eli and Naya (as well as Omar and his team) were respectful, thorough, and detailed. Their crew efficient and all Keystone employees showed up on time, every time, and ensured if there is any delay that they communicate immediately to let us know (for the record, the delay was 30 min and they let us know well in advance). Eli and Naya also did something that no one else wanted to - they worked with the materials and plans we already had as well as worked with our previous contractor when needed. They were hesitant to move forward with anything that wasn't 100% solid and perfect. While frustrating at one or two points for us due to our extremely limited budget, I appreciated that they only wanted perfection. If there was something we were willing to have less-than-perfect, the team laid out all the options to us and then moved forward with our decision once it was clear what that decision meant. With our job finished, I can breathe again for the first time in months and would be glad to hire them again. read more

We had water leak in our condo. Originally we used our HOA'S vendor to do the repair work. The whole process was slow and it took almost a year and still nothing has been done. We switched to Keystone Remodeling for help. They are super responsive and supportive when working with our HOA. They listened to our needs and trying to accommodate as much as they can.
