Review of Aston Black Enterprises February/March 2020…read more We initially met Mark Black (Owner) at the 2018 Philadelphia Home Show. We were planning a media room and basically interviewed potential contractors. To this day, I am sorry we did not choose Aston Black for that project. When we decided to move forward with our kitchen renovation, we were able to hone down our final choices to Mr. Black and Gardner/Fox. We had both out to the house for an initial consult. What stood out from the very beginning was the attention to detail and the fact that Aston Black was willing to take preliminary measurements for a rough blueprint without a contract or design fee. It took a few weeks, but we finally met with Mark Black at his showroom in Lancaster, PA. That meeting lasted three hours and included the initial design of our dream kitchen on his large screen computer as he had all the 'before' pictures ready for discussion. We were impressed from that point on with his gift for innovation and design. Since we had already selected the counter tops, and had a fairly good idea of the layout, we decided to accept his draft proposal for the Scope of Work with minimal correction. From day one, his crew were professional and exceptional to the end of the project. They were under the supervision of a Construction Manager and an extremely talented crew of two men. They arrived early every day, some weeks on Saturday and stayed well past five o'clock on other days. The Construction Manager as well as Mark Black were immediately available by text, phone or email. Mark Black stopped in several times and stayed in touch almost daily. The workmanship was superior. Mark Black referred us to Keystone Granite where we were extremely satisfied in their install of our Cambria Granite counter tops. In addition, we were referred to The Tile Shop where Joe the Manager was equally as accommodating. We have had many contractors complete several projects in the twenty-two years we've been in this house but none to this degree of professionalism, artisanship and quality. Mr. Black's design ideas and attention to detail gave us a kitchen that far exceeded our expectations. In addition to the kitchen renovation, we also engaged Aston Black in the renovation of our Family Room which included new brickface, complete ceiling repair, install of a new gas insert fireplace and new mantle. Mark Black successfully referred us to Lanchester Grill and Hearth in Gap, PA. where Sam and his staff were absolutely wonderful in their sale and installation of our new gas fireplace insert. Five stars to Aston Black and his crew, we cannot wait to plan our new bathroom suite next fall.

I was excited to work with Jemson for all the cabinetry for our new house, even convincing our…read morebuilder to let us use someone new to him. Designing was great with Abby. Everything went downhill after that! Our last backordered piece arrived yesterday, 8 months from when the builder paid 50% down. The customer service and management was so lacking and we had to initiate 75% of the communication, including a demand or we take action to get the $2,000 deposit returned that they accidently forgot to credit us. We ended up providing our own installers due to the timing of everything in attempt to stay on schedule. Jemson told the builder he had to pay the 2nd half closer to when we wanted delivery. Once they had 100% payment, we started to learn of all the delays. We did not feel the urgency to get things sooner-especially with the backordered things. Our last piece had the delivery date changed 3 times, each time saying it would be a month longer. We feel someone dropped the ball in ordering. Jemson did not reach out to us to see if we got these last two pieces and if everything was complete and satisfactory, closing our order. Fabuwood's semi-custom kitchen is beautiful but it should not have taken 8 months to complete! "Thank you for your patience." was the only platitude we heard from Jemson in response to our frustration and the wait. I would NOT recommend working with Jemson if you are hoping to have an experience without frustration, stress and being treated fairly and with dignity as a paying customer.
