I went to this rehab a few years ago and now my husband is in there as of today. I was in a few…read moreweeks after a 12 hour surgery on my back and I loved the place! The nurses were so nice and very friendly. I also thought the same of the doctors there too. So when my husband said he was going there I told him that it's great there. My husband is there for a totally different illness. We almost lost him due to a C.O.P.D. Exasperation. He was in ICU for 2 weeks and thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Reading Hospital he is here with us. So I know they will do what is good for him and send him home to us good as new.

I spent a month in Reading Health System and the Post Acute Rehab unit; almost three weeks in…read moreRehab. I had a massive cerebellar stroke. It wasn't recognized by the ambulance crew or the ER. Only the CT scan revealed the extent of my atypical stroke. The doctors pumped 3% saline directly to the site of the infarction for 10 days. Not .3%... 3%. The marvelous Rehab therapists are the best; the acute care doctor that treated me is pretty great too. Therapists have a continuous stream of pitiful stroke patients... but manage to make every patient feel like they are the first stroke patient that they have ever treated. Thousands of people have been in Rehab before me, many with more knowledge about the methods and value of therapy than I will ever have... but the therapists never let on. God bless them. Without their persistent encouragement I wouldn't be typing this, walking to the kitchen for a drink of water and sitting in the bath tub like a Christian to take a bath. Without the antiedema therapy I'd have a hole in the back of my head or I'd be gone.

Dorel is a magician. My wife and I met him at the Griffith Park Half Marathon back in 2015 - while…read morehe only gave us a 5 minute demo stretch, his work lasted all 13 miles and made a lasting impression on us. Fast forward to this past November when I injured my IT band: During a back-to-back 10k / half race series, I pushed myself a bit too hard; combined with the abnormally cold weather and steep incline grades, I strained my left IT band with significant pain in my lower calf, knee and mid thigh. After confirming the injury with my doctor (who did nothing but recommend resting and vitamin d), I took the next 3 weeks off - just working out my upper body and using the stupid hand cycle to keep up my cardio. This was extremely inopportune timing as we had another race series in January. After the 3 week hiatus, I tried to run again, albeit slowly and was only able to complete 6 miles. Now in panic mode, due to the upcoming 51.7 mile race series, I found Dorel's business card and gave him a call. He immediately fit me into his schedule and we planned to meet the next day. After ONE, one hour session, I could already feel my tight IT band relaxing. He used a variety of techniques targeting my IT trigger point and managed to work out the injured muscle and tendons. While it was grueling at times, it was 1,000% worth it to fix this injury. Dorel also gave me a sheet on stretches, recommendations for the week leading up to the races and his personal cell phone number in case I had any issues or questions. As you can see from my attached image, my wife and I were able to run all 51.7 miles. I had ZERO pain in my leg or knee. Truthfully, I was a bit skeptical about my recovery - having taken 3 weeks to rest / stretch my leg and then only able to run 6 miles - I couldn't fathom how an hour of massage therapy could get me race ready in less than 1 week. I am so thankful that we met Dorel - these 5 races would NOT have happened without him. If you have any injury, I cannot recommend him enough!!

Dorel really knows how to create positive changes in people! His approach is gentle, respectful but firm and to the point at the same time. But most importantly, effective! He immediately saw where everything kind of falls apart for me and designed exercises, experiences and commitments to remedy that. It was a real eye-opener to go through them. I so wish I had discovered life coaching sooner and haven't wasted 4 years trying all the wrong things to help my family. I highly recommend Dorel's coaching to anybody who is serious about making progress in his/her family and personal life!
