What a great escape room experience! I was easily able to book my party of 4 for Jail Break Havana on a Sunday night, and this was fantastic linear escape room which made great use of the space and made for a fun challenge. We did have one issue with one of the puzzles in the room, but our game masters recognized the problem quickly and gave us the information we needed to move past it and eventually complete the game. Without giving away any puzzles, I would just provide a warning that this specific game requires a somewhat higher level of physical ability, so people who are not comfortable with that may want to try one of the other rooms. For experienced escape room players this may not be a full 9/10, but it was a very fun challenge and I had a great time with my group. If you're in Key West and want to do something fun (and are sober), give Key West Room Escape a try! read more

Amazing! Me and the hubs had an awesome time finding the pirates treasure! We have done several escape rooms and this one was top tier. We made it with minutes to spare. Fun way to spend an hour. I've now done all 3 rooms, this past time was the Pirate Treasure Hunt room. If 3 or more book together, they make it a private room so no one outside your party will be there during that hour. That is great. Although I had a 10% off coupon, there is no code on the See Key West or Keys Cash Saver so I guess in order to get that discount you have to present the coupon in person when you book. This particular room is best with 4 people as there is one puzzle that has 4 controls, however, 2 of my family members were able to solve it with just them, but it does require amazing coordination and communication. As always, you don't need any special knowledge to solve these puzzles. Be sure to bring your curiosity and check any and all parts of the room that don't have a sticker indicating "no touch". There are also written instructions, such as "do not stand on this" and "do not place anything on this" which I would recommend you pay attention to. I'm pleased our group of 4 escaped with 5 minutes and 30 seconds to spare. Couple of things to note: They will require you leave your cell phone at the front desk. They have a box they keep them in, but if you are not comfortable with this, then leave it at home. Employees watch you with a video monitor and if you are struggling they will offer hints without actually giving you the answer to a particular puzzle or lock. There is plenty of hand sanitizer to use before and after the game. The employees are happy to use your phone to take a group shot with a room themed background if you'd like. They also give you a success sticker if you manage to escape in 60 minutes or less. Parking can be tricky, so leave yourself plenty of time to find a spot so you are not late. Each room requires set up time, so if you are late, that has a domino effect on the rest of the day and customers' experiences. read more

This amounted to a 4 mile walk around the entire island that took hours. I honestly have no idea how we paid to open a lock box pick up a book, book a book and walk around for four hours. We had no idea you needed a car for means of transportation. This is literally the biggest rip off I've ever done in my entire life. Terrible escape room experience. Someone in my party had a severe phobia of spiders. When we got to the building, a sign on the front door said "avoid giant poisonous spiders." When our friend asked multiple times if there were any spiders in the room we booked because she had a phobia, the woman working there, Courtney, was very insensitive and unhelpful, and kept ignoring our friend, and said "I can't say." Our party saw what looked like cobwebs in the Pirate room and assumed that maybe the spider was only in that room, not the one we booked (Jail Break Havana). Within a couple minutes of being in the Jail Break escape room, a giant, realistic spider popped out that made my friend have an intense panic attack. She started screaming to be let out, for what felt like a few minutes, and ran out of the room. There was no reason Courtney had to ignore our friend's questions and concerns (the spider was only there for shock value). We called and were able to get a refund for our friend (given that she left the game after a few minutes due to extreme distress), but overall, we were incredibly disappointed with the service here and our escape room experience. read more

This was truly amazing!! Even if your time in Key West is limited, make time to visit this escape room. We've done an escape room before, but the construction of these rooms was so well done that it blows other places out of the water. The rooms are very elaborate and follow the themes really well. We could tell right away that the owner pays very close attention to detail. The owner even hired a local artist to create murals that follow the themes of the rooms. All of the rooms go well with the Key West location. We did the Havana jail break. It's the hardest room they have, and it is HARD! The owner told us that only 2 groups out of around 70 have beat that room in the hour. The clues were really fun though, and everything followed the theme. You definitely have to work together and communicate. There is a portion where only 2 people can go at a time. You want to have your group split at that point but you have to talk. Very cool. (I actually think this portion was the coolest part of this escape room. The area seemed like a tight squeeze at first. I'm 5'1" and so of course I was fine. My father in law is 6 feet and he went back and forth just fine as well. There was more room than I initially thought when I first saw it.) We, of course, failed but it was still super fun. He walked us through the last pieces we didn't get since we were dying to know. The other rooms seemed really fun too, and we can't wait to go back to try more!! read more

This spot was an unreal experience! We had the opportunity to do the Havana Jail Break. The store is doing a great job with COVID protocols. You only play with the group you sign up with. Personally, I think this makes it a all around better experience. The room is very difficult, but with hard work and a group effort it is very doable. The room itself was pretty good! Our game master was really snappy, stressed out and rude throughout the entirety of the experience. He was upset he had to come into work last minute. I feel for the guy, but it wasn't fair to take it out on the customers. My boyfriend and I are both in healthcare and have dealt with staffing issues, and I can honestly say I understand things that are outside your control, but you can always control how you treat others, especially clients. Additionally, he clearly wasn't paying attention because we asked 3 times for help and got no answer from his end for several minutes. (There were no set clues, it completely relied on the game master giving us clues) so we ended up wasting probably 15 minutes on something he should've caught. I get that they were short staffed, but they probably should have just closed down entirely instead of making us feel bad for being there. Hidden gem. Thanks to Yelp we found this amazing find. Won't give away too much but the pirate room is a blast. The hour flew by. We went with our 5 year old and were paired with people we didn't know. Had a blast getting to know them and even our 5 year old felt like she was contributing. Have to mention how good the manager is. Gave us hints when we needed but mostly let us figure things out which gave us a solid sense of accomplishment. I came here with my six year old daughter who loves puzzles and pirates so the pirate ship treasure break was a perfect fit. The puzzles were challenging and rewarding. There were several levels of deciphering which made it fun for me and my daughter. The staff gave us hints as needed considering it was just my daughter and I in the room. It is really best with more adults to help with the clues. You have 60 minutes to break all the puzzles and get the treasure. I highly recommend this escape room. The puzzles were very challenging, hidden all over 2 rooms and some were difficult to solve. I was also (pleasantly) surprised at how many different pieces we had to solve to get to the end. Everywhere we go as a family, we do at least one Escape Room, but usually a few. This place was absolutely amazing, and it's impossible to even compare it to others. At this point we've done at least a few dozen, and while the franchises that have some of the same rooms in different states that are sold as kits are usually impressive, the design of these games were done independently by the company, and the thought that went into them is sheer genius in my opinion. After completing one, we immediately did another, and had a blast. Across the board, it seems like these games are getting more and more popular, but for some reason it just seems as if people haven't quite figured out that they exist yet. This whole building was a work of art, and I can't imagine what it took to develop these games. On another note, hands down, the game master - JP - is the best in the biz as far as I am concerned. If you fail to take the time to get to know him while there, you're losing out in more ways than you'll ever know. At any business, the people running the show will make or break you, and this place is lucky to have him. When I go to a place like Key West, and happen to find a place with staff like JP - individuals with tons of good stories, who are full of info about everything regarding the city (beyond too; just ask), and that the whole family enjoyed getting to meet - there's no way you could ever make a return trip and not visit again just to see what they've got going on at the time. read more
