I love that store, I swear, but there are two security guards who act like idiots, following people all over the store and making stupid faces, staring at you from head to toe. How am I supposed to acquire points if somebody else card is scanned instead of mine? Once I asked and they told me is the "same"! Never, Never use instacart to have your food delivered. They substitute with higher priced items, even though items ordered were listed in their weekly flyer AND in their website. Two heavy items were delivered loose and not bagged. The service fee is outrageous in addition to the imposed tip. Never will I make this mistake again. They claim to help seniors, which I am. In effect those seniors are being abused financially. Their billing practice is unacceptable for seniors who have no other option to put food on the table. They bill and charge a higher price on your credit card "just in case there is a problem" then they claim that they will refund the overcharge if all is well, in a few weeks.That practice is unheard of. read more

I wish this supermarket was not in Midwood. It does not carry all the products you would find in a non kosher supermarket. The supermarket is very clean and tidy, because they just refurbished it a while ago. They carry a lot of great west-Indian products and kosher products. They also have an Asian section that rivals any supermarket. The aisle are more spacious now since the supermarket was refurbished. read more

The meat, dairy and fruits and vegetables spoils within 2 days of buying. They always want to argue with you in reference to price. I remember if the price tag was there and your store ailed to take down advertisement due to their error customer always right. You have to follow them to item or they take down tags and tell you the price isn't there. They management is rude and I believe they are bigots and racist. I would never recommend that store. It has been in construction for about a year. The entrance door has been broken for few months now. It is dirty inside and out. Produce is horrible. I was looking for pesto and the staff had no idea what it was including the management on duty. I felt like I was living in another country. This key food is the worse supermarket in this location. I've been to this key food since I was knee high and it was called waldbaums. The free parking and aisle size is awesome, however the new owners appear to be following some sort of religious code when stocking the shelves. There is no alcohol available for sale at this location, nor are there any pork products available (no bacon!!!!). The deli section is a joke except for the rotisserie chickens. I have been coming here for a while when it was a Walbaums, C-Town, and other names for supermarket. It has a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, canned goods, deli, and other tasty breads. They have a frozen food section and also sell baked goods like Entenmann's and typical stuff like cleaning supplies, kitchen appliances, and also party materials. There are varieties of meat, some fresh, others frozen. I should warn you that they make you check in your bags in case you are in a rush. They also have free parking and a can/bottle dispense machine so you could recycle those items. They have a weekly circular with deals and savings. They also accept most manufacture coupons and have in store Key Food card deals. This store has push carts and baskets to hold your items and kids. read more

On the whole I really like this Key Food because of the fresh vegetables and the very congenial staff. I would, however, warn Muslim shoppers to avoid the Italian bread and fresh bakery products as they all come from a bakery that puts a questionable ingredient, religiously, L-Cysteine. L-Cysteine can come from human hair, pigs snout bristles, or duck feathers. The feathers but not the other two are prohibited. Unfortunately, the bakery supplying these products does not respond to inquires about them. So avoid them. read more

If they do not appreciate your business, and treat you with a nasty attitude: why bother to shop there?!! I have been shopping at this Key Food for over 10 years. Unfortunately it is getting harder and harder to do my shopping over there during the last couple of years that I have to do extra trips to the nearby stores such as target at the junction Nostrand Ave & Ave H, the fruit and vegetable spot on Nostrand, the other side of target, the meat barn next to it, or little bit farther to Met Food on Flatbush. Simply at Key Food, most of your household items are not available any more. They no longer carry any pork or ham products, no beers either, and no natural or organic products. If you are looking for applegates farms cold cuts and cheese, murray's chickens, harvestland chickens, organic valley products, rice milk or rice crackers products, do not waste your times. Check your chickens when buying them there. Sometimes they are not fresh at all. Once my wife brought a Perdue chicken and as soon as I broke the wrap, a stinky smell came out. I checked the label to see the expiration date, I was shocked to see they placed a new label on an old one, the older label was expired 3 days earliar. Miracle whip was expired. Even if you go return it and get your money back, who needs to make another trip to a supermarket to get couple of dollars refund?!! They may give you hard time first before refunding you. Check your receipt and expiration dates before you leave. Very often items displayed on sale on the shelf will ring at regular price at the register. They have a very nice manager, I believe his name is Jean- Sorry I did not ask him how he spells his name- The store is clean with wide aisles, Other than that: the people working at the customer service desk seem to enjoy being nasty. Heard from a coworker that Enfamil powdered formula was cheaper here than other stores, so I went by and tried to purchase about a dozen cans. At the register I was informed that "since I'm not on WIC I'd only be able to purchase two cans". Apparently WIC recipients can "purchase" unlimited cans of formula for their babies but those paying in cash are limited to two cans at a time. Completely absurd. read more
