Heating and air conditioning cannot be adjusted at all except to turn on or off. The room is set to a balmy 24 C/ 76 F so we were quite hot and slept without the comforters most of the evening. Breakfast is not included and we didn't pay for it, opting for a nearby bakery instead as the value didn't seem worth the offering for a family.

Some other friends and also we read in online reviews, were less convinced about this people due to the safety of the area around the station and the fact that this is part of huge hotel chain and the rooms are small. As far as I am concerned all these worries people had seemed out of placed and unnecessary. There was no safety issue whatsoever in the streets; right outside the station there are often groups of young immigrants spending time together, but we weren't bothered at all. We walked with no problem around the hotel, to the metro and toward the center also in the evening, so relax, it's fine; just use the same common sense you use all the times. The hotel: well, it is a bit small, but it's an Italian hotel, not an American hotel, so lobby is small but service was courteous and with no hiccups; room is not huge but it's all we needed and clean. Plus, let's face, if you are in Milan, how much time are you going to spend in the room?? Our experience was just very good and the location is perfect, a short walk to station and metro. Also, if you don't want/need to go far, from the hotel to the Station there are several good restaurants to stop by. Some told me they are expensive because of the location, but although I am Italian, I live in Florida, so to me those prices were extremely good. We will be back to this location, hopefully this year!

The hotel has a beautifully decorated and spacious lobby. We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip and 2 nights at the end of our trip. So we ended up staying in two different rooms. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. The rooms looked newly remodeled. It was very hot outside that week and the air conditioning kept our room comfortably cool. The first room faced the street and had an interesting street view. Even with facing the street, it was a very quiet room. The only drawback was that the wi-fi in this room only worked if we stood right next to the entry door to the room, but we managed so it wasn't a problem. Our second room that we stayed in at the end of the trip faced the back of the hotel and was a larger room with no wi-fi issues in this room. The front desk staff offered to keep our extra luggage in storage at the hotel while we traveled to other cities mid-week. The free breakfast buffet which was provided at the hotel every morning was fantastic!!! It included prosciutto, cheese, assorted croissants, fresh fruit, assorted juices and much more. It was the best breakfast that we ate while we were in Italy. A nice waiter, named Maximillan, realized that I liked 2 lattes with my breakfast each morning, and always came back to my table to ask if I was ready for my second latte. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Most of them spoke excellent English and were eager to help if we needed anything. I highly recommend that you stay here when you visit Milan.

When traveling through Italy, we were stopping in Milan and stayed at the Melia Milano which is on…read morethe outskirts of the city near the football stadium and near the Lotto metro stop. From this stop, it would take about 15 mins to get to the city center and about 20mins to get to the main train station. From the outside the hotel looks big, and I found out later that the hotel is in a converted bakery factory hence the large size. As you enter the hotel, you enter into this massive lobby with high ceilings and a grand staircase in the middle. To the left is the check-in desk and a waiting area and to the right is the bar and restaurant. Up the stairs is the first floor which contains the meeting rooms, the Melia lounge, as well as guest rooms. The first thing I noticed when I entered the room is that despite the large size of the hotel and the massive lobby, the hotel rooms were somewhat smaller and more compact than I expected. As you entered the room, on the left was the entrance to the bathroom while on the right was a little wall that ended as you entered into the main part of the room. The bathroom was decent but also compact and contained a toilet, bidet, sink with minimal counter space, and a walk-in shower. The toiletries were refillable and had handwash and lotion next to the sink with body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower; the basic amenities were there but the space was more compact and restricted. In the room, on the right was a stand with shelves for storage and then continuing on the right was a nook with an open closet and open luggage rack. The luggage rack and open closet was a nice touch but there was minimal storage space as the open rack and the shelves were the only storage. In the main part of the room, the king-size bed was along with right side of the wall and on each side of the bed was a table with a lamp on it and plugs behind it along with USB ports. The bed was decent enough for the first night but was a bit uncomfortable towards the third night but overall provided a decent sleep. The tables next to the bed were somewhat small so again it did the job but space was limited. Across from the bed, along the left side of the wall, was the TV mounted on the wall and in the corner a table with chairs. The table and chairs was a nice touch to have but again it was a small table so could barely have two people eating or drinking at the same time. Overall it was a decent room with the necessary amenities but the space was more compact than I expected for a suburb hotel. The hotel is a full-service hotel so has lots of amenities including a hotel bar, restaurant, meeting rooms, hotel lounge, a gym, and wifi. The wifi was decent and you could connect as many devices as you want but it did slow down sometimes and was not always the most reliable. I did not try the bar nor restaurant but did see lots of people going there so it seemed popular. Overall, it was not an impressive stay at Melia Milano. This hotel was outside the city and is in a former factory so one would expect bigger rooms but the size of this room is what you would expect at a hotel closer to the city. The customer service was also lacking as we connected with the front desk staff many times and throughout my interactions only staff person was actually nice and helpful while the others barely did their job and barely provided any support.

The room itself was beautiful and feature rich, the cocktail bar is fantastic, and breakfast buffet was one of the best we've been to. The service is what really puts the PH over the top - everyone from front desk to concierge to bell hop went above and beyond and knew our names - we felt very taken care of here. In addition, they were exceptionally accommodating of our toddler, making sure he was well taken care of (and even giving us a full bottle of milk our last night when we were in a pinch!). Will definitely stay here again, probably the best PH we've stayed at yet

The check-in process was fast, and the staff at the front was super friendly. The vibe of this hostel is amazing. I love the whole setup, and it's conveniently located in the central area for shopping, eating/ coffee shops, and boat tours. The hostel's outdoor bar/patio area is excellent for hanging out with friends and people-watching. The staff offers food and good selections of drinks during your stay for purchase. (The bar is open 24/7!). I booked a six-bedroom dorm style for females only, and the whole dorm was clean; the beds were sturdy and beautifully painted with bright yellow color. The view from my dorm overlooked the other outdoor patio area--it would be a great spot to chill in hammocks and chairs if the weather was nice (during my stay, the weather was rainy/gloomy). Since I came during the weekend, there was an event at this hostel every night, which allowed me to interact with other groups or solo travelers from all over Europe who were also in Lake Como for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend this hostel to those looking for a hostel that is safe, clean, and fully staffed with people who genuinely love meeting new travelers and helping them when needed. I had the best time here during my stay in Lake Como. I would come back here and stay in the future if I revisit Lake Como.

We needed a place to store our bags until our AirBnB check-in, and we wanted to explore Como town unencumbered. Ostello Bello is just a short walk from the train and was easy to get to. I can really only speak to my experience in the lobby and my interactions with the staff, but the vibes upon walking in were really great - good tunes and lively atmosphere. Our bags were quickly checked in and secured, and we were on our way! It was just as easy to collect them a few hours later. The staff also went above and beyond in helping us arrange a taxi to our AirBnB. I can't say enough about how lovely and helpful they were! Although this is a hostel, you can book a private room at a very affordable rate. I would definitely recommend this place as an option for young people traveling on a budget or looking to make some new friends. It seemed like there were lots of activities for people looking to socialize. The location of the hostel is also great, close to transportation as well as a market right next door. I would definitely use the luggage storage service again and maybe next time stay for a drink at the bar!

I was expecting a budget dump when I arrived, but instead was pleasantly surprised! This hotel is no-frills but it's clean, reasonably safe (considering the neighborhood), and is located literally steps from the main train station in Milan. There are far swankier hotels in the bustling metropolis of Milan but if you are going to focus on public transportation during your stay or just want the convenience of being close to the trains to whisk you elsewhere in Europe, this hotel is a good choice. My room was on a higher floor and had great views of the station. The bed was fine although the furnishings had seen better days. The room was small, clean, and simple. The bathroom was completely outdated, but at least it was ensuite and not a shared one down the hall! Little unexpected touches included an in-room refrigerator and safe, and free wi-fi for all guests! I also liked the metal blinds (yes, metal) that at first made me feel like I was in a prison but they were awesome at keeping out light in the morning! One negative is the next morning, I wanted to have the front desk store my luggage while I went out to do some brief sightseeing before my train later that night. They pointed me to a room where I could leave my bags. The room was not locked and was completely unsecured! This is so unsafe for so many reasons, so I opted to walk my bags over to the train station where I had to pay a pretty penny to have secure storage.
