Update: I did hear back from Terry and we are still negotiating how to settle this between us. Unfortunately the original fix to the refrigerator is not fixed. He offered to refund me what I paid. This is doing the right thing and a step in the right direction to share my deductible expenses. An update on the kitchen fix too. Phase 1 water mitigation was $5,000. We called Mathew Appliance (just one T in Mathew!) because they got really good reviews on NextDoor. We send them a text with a photo of the model number of our dryer, and they got back to us within hours. We were able to have them visit the next morning, and they fixed the problem. They also let us know that the smell that we smelled from the dryer? It turns out that there was a small lint fire in one of our hoses, which is alarming news to hear but good to know. The person who repaired our dryer was very friendly, quick and trustworthy, and didn't try to upsell us on anything. We were very satisfied with the whole interaction.
