Prior to my visit, I asked if they could verify what needed to be done based on the images sent in with the referral and book a date for the extraction. A tentative date was set but I still had to go in and see the doctor and pay the $110. Today I went in and traded $110 and all of my medical history for a conversation on ethics. Despite the chronic TMJ pain, difficulty to repair the tooth (despite what he says), and constant food trappings, Dr. Harris likened my (and the referring orthodontist) desire for the tooth removal to a person wanting to amputate a leg because of a bruise. To arrive and have to pay $110 to get a lecture on "ethics" was a bit much. The ethical thing to do, in my opinion would be to look at the images sent weeks before by the orthodontist and get back to him and discuss it. But ethically, I'm the one dealing with the chipped wisdom tooth causing my idiomatic pain. Completely disgusted about this.

I need you Yelpers to know that this praise is coming from the world's MOST dentophobia (dental fear) patient there ever was. Doctor Ferguson and his staff were so patient with my hyper anxiety. Dr. Ferguson was so upbeat and confident; his enthusiasm was very reassuring to someone with such a strong phobia as I had. On the day of the surgery, he was very reassuring and helpful in getting me settled down so they could go to work on pulling my abscessed molar. He did not rush me or become impatient with my crying and my apparent fear...he just smiled and spoke softly to me as I was falling apart before they were going to administer anesthesia. He allowed me the time I needed to move forward with the surgery. The assistants were terrific also. They were so gentle and patient with me as I was having an absolute meltdown before my surgery. Melissa, Dr. Ferguson's assistant, just was as sweet as anyone could be in dealing with an adult that was behaving like a certified little baby. She talked so kind to me as I shook and cried while she tried to explain how I would be fine and it was not going to be as bad as I thought. Unfortunately for all of them, I was inconsolable at the time, but I did go under the spell of the wonderful anesthesia and I awoke not even knowing it was over. I believe the other nurse that was in the room was Mary, but my mind was on other things at the time, so I can't say for sure. She also was so understanding and reassured me that I could take all the time I needed to adjust to the reality I was going to have to submit to a dental procedure I did not want to take part in. My recovery was quick and painless. I didn't even have to take any pain medication. At my two week checkup, both Melissa and Dr. Ferguson were so kind to me. They reassured me that I was not their worst patient ever. I had actually gone in to the appointment feeling very embarrassed by my previous behavior and was kind of dreading facing them again. They just made me feel so "normal" and that I had not been as big of a pain as I had feared. I just can't give them enough praise for the entire experience. There was NOTHING wrong with my wisdom teeth I found out after it was because they could develop cavities!!! Any teeth can develop cavities. Well I was in so much pain the shots barely helped and my body was shaking so bad my mom was trying to hold me down. So I leave get my pain medication take it and threw it up he did not try another pain medication I was told I could not handle pain and to just take over the counter ibuprofen!!!! I didn't leave my sofa for 2 weeks. I will suggest any other dentist not him!

I feel compelled to write this review. I'm a 50 yo male…read morewith a panic/anxiety disorder. It really gets bad when I need dental work done. I've had several horrible experiences with tooth extractions in my life. Pain, swelling , post op infections ... you name it. These past experiences led me to let this tooth go way longer than I should have. I had the referral for 14 months before making my Appointment. I feel like a fool and here's why. I've been worrying about this tooth for 2 years. As it fell apart, it would cut my tongue, but I was still terrified to make the call. As I knew I needed/ wanted to be sedated by IV drip, it's necessary to have a preliminary consultation. Their Covid protocol is thorough and the office is brand new and spacious. Quite nice in fact!! Dr. Harris is very personable and very positive. I liked him right away!!! He listened intently as I explained why I was there and what my concerns were. He sat and LISTENED to everything I had to say. He then looked in my mouth and assured me this was going to be a breeze. They all say that. This guy wasn't kidding. Everything was explained and my questions and concerns were addressed. Here's where it gets good. I got there and we got right to it. No waiting for 30 min in the lobby getting worked up. I don't even think I was there much longer than 30 minutes. I had some Nitrous Oxide gas ( that's nice). It was even mildly scented. The next thing I know , he walks in and puts the IV in my arm and the next thing I hear him say is "We're done" We couldn't be done, I just got there. I was driven home and watched as is par for being under any anesthesia. I was eating a hamburger 2 hours after I left his office. I was hungry bc you can't eat the night before. He gave me 2 different pain prescriptions and something to keep me from being nauseous. I had them all filled ,but as I sit here writing this review 26 hours after leaving his office , I haven't even opened any of them. I'm not only not in pain, I don't even have the slightest bit of soreness. I'm actually shocked. I feel no differently than yesterday. I'm able to do any and everything. My speech isn't affected and ZERO swelling or even minor discomfort. I cannot say enough about my experience with Dr Harris. I will recommend him to EVERYBODY I know and even those I don't!!! He's that good! Lastly, aside from my general worry about dental procedures ,I was concerned about the cost. I'm retired on a disability and I have a mortgage. It cost me about 1/3 of what I expected it to. That was another pleasant surprise. I'm about to go eat lunch. Again, I'm not even the slightest bit sore anywhere. Thank you so very kindly to Dr. Harris and his Staff for the outstanding level of treatment I received. He's located in the new medical building right by the Galleria near Causeway. I'd cleared my schedule for today and the weekend in expectation of 3days down. I think I'll do some yard work today after I eat lunch!!

If you ever need help with wisdom teeth extraction or oral surgery these are the people you want to see! Oral& Maxillofacial Surgical Associates is the place we went! This is not advertisement for them. They never said anything I'm just so impressed. I had to share it with my friends. I prayed we find someone that could get Steve out of pain safely and God answered our prayers. This cheerful dentist had us all laughing, and made us so comfortable. Steve is not completely out of the woods and has a few days to recover, but it's looking very good. Keep him in your prayers and thank you for letting me share my good news!

I had gotten my bottom wisdom teeth out prior to coming here and the process I went through was a nightmare at my previous location which so sadly shut down, and I was never properly informed of the aftercare at my previous location. this location made sure I knew what to do post procedure and they understood how scared I was to undergo the procedure itself. very very caring, they talked me through the process, their dental office did not smell of must or machinery in any way (which is a frequent occurrence in my experience) but simply fresh air. their office was also very clean and organized. happily I do not have to get any more wisdom teeth removed but I do reccomend this location to anyone who needs theirs removed.

I had my wisdom teeth out in June after they had already begun erupting through my gums (I waited…read moretoo long). Dr. Lim came highly recommended. I had a negative experience both in terms of recovery and bedside manner. During most of my interactions with Dr. Lim, he seemed eager to get on with his day, was impatient, and did not give thorough answers to questions I had. I was particularly nervous for the surgery as I knew I should have gotten my wisdom teeth out earlier. Dr. Lim was dismissive of my concerns and brushed them off. Dr. Lim told me during our consultation I should expect a 1-3 day recovery time. In reality I was in agony for two weeks and the recovery time after that took 3 months. After my surgery I was given one generic fact sheet informing me how to care for my gums and otherwise very minimal instruction. I had many complications following my surgery and had to call multiple times to have my pain taken seriously. I went to an emergency dentist the weekend after my procedure in agony. The dentist was shocked by the insufficiency of the pain management plan Dr. Lim had put me on (Hydrocodone with no medication to tide me over between doses), and gave me a helpful, updated, detailed plan with a couple new medications. I called Crescent City Monday when it opened explaining I was in agonizing pain. I was told it was too soon after surgery to have dry socket and that pain is normal. I insisted I needed to be seen. I went in and they confirmed I did have dry socket. It was treated (the pain eased nearly immediately). I asked for instructions on how to minimize the chances of this happening again. I asked if I should avoid any food. I was told I could go back to eating and that there was nothing I could do other than not using a straw, etc.; dry socket often happens to women. Later that day I ate and immediately experienced agonizing pain. I called the office the next day and insisted I be seen again. I had dry socket again - the treatment had dislodged. Upon contacting the office and visiting in person, my interactions with Crescent City staff gave me the uncomfortable feeling I was merely a nuisance to them (one staff member was consistently kind). Again I was treated for dry socket and again the pain eased. I insisted on a plan to minimize my chances of dry socket happening for a third time. At this request, I was put on a liquid diet for a couple days. I asked for thorough instructions for how to clean the sockets. I got some funny looks for asking questions, but I was told to clean them for a few days and then stop cleaning them because they would start closing up. Days later, the sockets did not begin closing up, and food built up, causing pressure in my gums. I decided to stay on a liquid diet for a few extra days, and to continue cleaning the sockets for weeks (since the sockets would not heal). This helped with some discomfort. The recovery process took three months. At nearly every turn my pain was not taken seriously and I was treated as a nuisance for asking how to care for myself. I would certainly not recommend Crescent City Oral Surgery. I do have to wonder if mine was a difficult surgery that would not have been painful regardless of where I went - I don't know; I'm not an oral surgeon. What I do know is that the dismissal, disbelief, and rudeness of the staff and Dr. Lim exponentially increased my pain and could have been easily preventable.

I was given a bill for $700+ and was told (rudely) that my insurance wouldn't cover the procedure. I contacted my insurer directly and my actual bill amounted to $50. This was only one of many unpleasant interactions with the office. Their manner in dealing with patients over insurance payments, appointments, etc. is so unhelpful and the information provided is full of mistakes. In addition, my new dentist's front office staff mentioned they have had contentious exchanges over obtaining patient records. I understand someone having a bad day, but this is an ongoing problem in their office. I want to believe the managing dentist is not aware of how some of the front office staff treat patients and . If they were aware, I would think they would provide their personnel with training in customer relations. I will not be back.
