I used to really like this place, but it has gone down hill the past few months. I've always had friendly service, that isn't an issue. The food just isn't as good. I am sure that Kerby's is a chain as it has that Big Boy/Denny's feel but with a paired down coney island menu. Clean place, nice service and the food was good with very affordable prices. This location is pretty dead, as the shopping center seems to still be in development, but we love this area for that fact. A little hidden in the shopping plaza but worth exploring when in the area for a quick, cheap bite. read more

Stopped in for something quick to eat. Not enough wait staff and I get it, but where are the owners? Management? There was a cook and two waitresses. The place was a disaster and very, very dirty. Why do people let things rot like this? Our cups were dirty, we were sat a table that wasn't wiped. These girls look like they had probably been there all day. The food was ok, it came really quickly. I don't think our waitress was very good though. She couldn't remember who had which drink (there were only two of us) and I had to ask for the dips I wanted for my fries twice. She did ask if my fries were warm enough and took them back to be warmed up (I think they were microwaved and not fresh fries) but she wasn't concerned if my husband's fries were warm enough. When we asked for change to get something out of the vending machine they would only give us a dollar saying there's a coin shortage (we only wanted two dollars). Probably won't go back. read more

The quality of food is good. The service is fine. Love the look of the restaurant. Classic family dining. The Coney's themselves we "meh". The dog was a bit overcooked. Didn't have the "snap". Being partial to the Flint-style coney, I found the sauce flavorful, but quite runny. My dearly deceased father, who made sure i was raised eating "proper" coneys (Lol), would have said, "Son, that's a chili dog, not a coney". He was that picky. Disappointed all around! Service was less than par! We were seated promptly but sat for 15 minutes without being greeted. I went back to the cashier/hostess and informed her that we hadn't been visited even though other tables that were sat after us were greeted and ordered since this a Coney Island. I would've left but my 93 year old grandma is NOT easily moveable, it's very slow moving. When the server, Beth, approached she did not apologize for our wait... She seemed very impatient with our table and like we were wasting her time. We made it to meal time, food was very bland! Lemon rice soup was a waste of money - it was bland, lacked rice, not strong lemon flavor! Overall the place is disgustingly DIRTY!!! The photos will show for themselves! All shared containers they brought to the tables are dirty. I saw another server drop butter packets on the floor, pick it up and give it to the table... YUCK! Obviously she does this often - she didn't look around to see if anyone saw her or anything. Rest areas bathrooms are cleaner then the bathrooms here! The great thing about reviews... As I wrote this after eating my lunch, the server dropped off the bill and saw my phone sitting on the table with this semi typed one star review. She came back 3 times asking various things.... Refills, boxes, cleared plates. I honestly believe if I haven't done this review she wouldn't have done these extras - for that I'll give 2 stars for trying to make it right after the fact. read more

I've had bad experiences here before but gave it another chance thinking how can you screw up breakfast. Well as soon as we walk in the waitress was already rude. Didn't want to sit at a table, asked for a booth and that pissed the waitress off even more then she was. We weren't fast enough for her ordering drinks, and the food looked like crap. My 6 year old son asked me why we come here because its garbage. We got up to leave without eating and we told the waitress why, and she said well we are busy! That's fine, but bad service on top of horrible food is unacceptable. read more

I think previous reviews are a little too hard on this place. It's a Coney Island (they spell it "Koney" with a K) with typical Coney Island food. The pita is delicious and the Greek salad is good too. It's no different than any other diner-type restaurant I've been to. The staff was a little stressed but I'm guessing the "help wanted" sign meant they were stretched thin. I don't have any complaints about the service. My only complaint is the women's restroom. As mentioned by other reviewers, it was dirty. Very dirty. It had a space heater (with electric cords running out the door) on the floor which seemed odd (unsafe?). It needs a good bleaching and scrubbing (the corner had piled up dirt) - really I think it just needs to be gutted and renovated because the fixtures were all falling apart but perhaps they can't afford it. I don't know. They may get better ratings if they update this area. read more

I've had the Kerby melt both times I visited--fried chicken strips with lettuce, tomato, mayo, american cheese, and swiss cheese in a pita. Yum yum. We've eaten here several times in the past. But today I sat in a booth by the windows and there were quite a few dead flies on the sill, filthy seats, dusty, bugs crawling on me and crumbs all over the floor!! Not clean what so ever. The waitress was prompt but didn't smile at all it really greet us. She just asked what we wanted and brought the food. I cannot comment on the food here as we ended up leaving before we ever sat down. My kids and I came here for lunch and used the restroom before being seated. Absolutely disgusting. So dirty. Then on our way to hostess booth we had to pass by an older vehicle they have on display. Had about an inch of dust on it. The floor underneath the car had about 2" of dust and actual duty bunnies floating around. At that point I was starting to question eating here. Then on the way to a table I couldn't help but notice how FILTHY the floor was; fries, sucker wrappers, crumbs everywhere, general filth that looked to have been there for quite some time. It became clear to me no one cares to clean this place and if that was what they were allowing the public to see I had to shudder thinking about what the kitchen must be like. WE LEFT. I am very unsatisfied. I work in the mall, and have been to this Kerby's many times. Today was the last straw. I placed an order over the phone; FIRST off the waitress was rude. Mumbling all that fun stuff. SECOND, I was told a FIVE minute wait. So I come in TEN minutes later, still not done. Yes I understand being a Sunday, the place was slammed, not a big deal. I work retail, I get it. THIRD, While waiting for my order, head waitress was yelling at staff/customers about seating and tables. Also she was pointing, YES POINTING her customers to their tables, didn't even walk them to their seats. Customer Service 101 you NEVER point at a customer, or to where you want them to be. VERY RUDE and unprofessional. FOURTH I get to my job after waiting FIFTEEN minutes for my food. MY ORDER WAS WRONG. Tomatoes on my sandwich (I'm allergic) and a Greek salad instead of fries. On my receipt it shows fries, and NO Tomato. So I head back and she blamed me for it. Even when I was extra nice, and I'm a frequent customer. The only positive I have is they fixed my order. (If you work in the mall, they're the ONLY restaurant that doesn't give employee mall discounts, even though other malls Kerby's do.) I will never be back. read more

A few months ago I came in and was told to "take a seat wherever I like." So I went to a booth and was told "sorry sir that area is closed" after they told me I can sit anywhere. You don't expect much from a coney but I really didn't expect the experience we got. When we got seat she pointed to a booth that was filthy! After while we got out drinks, she grabbed the drinks from the tray with her hands right on the rim of the cup and the DUMPED the cream on to the table so the tray she was carrying had water and hash browns on it which was now on our table. She looked at us and said "are you ready?" So I ordered before my husband even had a chance to order she said very rudely "ARE YOU READY". He then waited about 20 minutes for a coffee refill, three people who sat down after us got their food first. She never checked in on us, she slammed our bill on the table and walked away without even saying anything. My husband told me it was the worst burger he ever had, my omelet was runny, my hash browns were barely cooked and the SALTED MY TOAST. I could see the salt on the plate. There was someone going around busing tables and just threw the plates in a bin with food still on them which made me lose a lot of my appetite. Asked to speak to a manager and apparently they don't have one. I want my money back that how bad this experience was. So save your money and go appreciate another business one that treats their guest nice so you don't feel like you wasted it. read more

Visited here on Saturday. The server was nice and service was quick. Food was good and what you would expect from similar Kerbys. Overall the restaurant was nice, high ceilings and lots of lighting. Came here for a quick lunch with my 7 and 4 year old. They ordered breakfast (with dry wheat toast) and I ordered a lemon rice soup and baby Greek salad (no onions)combo. Took 25 minutes for the food to come out. No syrup, no dressing and no soup. Waitress went back to get them. Noticed the toast had butter and my salad had onions. Also, my pita was cold. When she brought the soup, it looked disgusting-like it had been sitting under the warmer for 25 min in a conglomerated mass. There was a thicker film coating the surface of the soup. (I order this every time and know how it's supposed to look. )I asked for another one and the waitress seemed offended. 10 minutes later, my kids were done eating and I still didn't have my soup. She finally brought it, in the same bowl as before, evident of the thick and crusty border around the bowl. I immediately asked her to take it off the bill and for the bill. She said, sorry I have 4 tables. (What?!) 4 WHOLE tables!!??? She came back 10 minutes later and said it was cheaper to leave it on because I had ordered a combo. I said, "okay, I'll take the soup to go then if I have to pay for it anyway." 10 minutes later the soup to go and the bill came. Just ridiculous that it took that long to bring out a soups and salad. The bathrooms are disgusting and dirty. There's an old stand alone heater in the women's room that says" hot", but it's still super dangerous. My 7 year old said there were a pack of opened coffee filters in the bathroom. Makes me wonder if they are using toilet water to breathe coffee. My experience here today was nice. Me and my husband stopped in for a bite to eat for lunch. First time visiting and if I'm ever in town again, I will be back. Customer service was great!
