What an incredible group of caring, smart and skilled professionals! I was lost and scared having…read morejust lost my phone on the beach and not knowing how to get back home without it. I randomly showed up to ask for directions and these individuals immediately turned their attention to helping me out. They knew to first contact the lifeguard and see if my phone had been turned in, which it had. I'm so grateful. Losing a phone seems like a frivolous thing but if you are lost and don't know the area and need to drive on some treacherous roads to get back home, it is a big deal with safety implications. I'm so lucky to have come across these amazing professionals who were so kind and competent. Special thanks to the blond woman firefighter whose idea it was to contact the lifeguard and who immediately did so using her radio. Thank you so much. Stinson Beach and its many visitors are extremely fortunate to have this firefighting team to support their health, safety and wellbeing.

I want to give a REAL BIG shout out to all the volunteer personnel that selflessly dedicate their…read moretime to training & responding to a multitude of emergency calls for Muir Beach, Muir Woods, and all the surrounding hiking trails and roads! These folks are true heroes that are committed to their community. They respond to calls of all variations, from bee stings to vehicle accidents and beyond. The Muir Beach Fireman's BBQ is the biggest event held in Muir Beach and people come from all over the bay area to not only enjoy the awesome BBQ food and the sweet live music, but also because all the proceeds go directly to keeping this enchanted part of Marin County safe.... My hat's off to you MBVFD!!!

I can't believe this cute little town has never received a YELP rating (and a 5 Star rating at…read morethat)! I moved to the North Bay just a few months ago and discovered this place and fell in love with it! You could almost miss the main drag if you just travel down Sir Francis Drake (by the way, some cute shops and restaurants on SFD on the side by the old theatre. Don't miss those either!). But hit the main drag by taking Tunstead off of Sir Francis Drake and then turn left or right to find some great shopping, parks, restaurants, galleries, market and the like. Everytime I come here, which is often these days, I discover something new. As I do, I will post my finds by adding to this review. My three picks for the week are Marin Coffee Roasters (delicious coffee, snacks, breakfast, lunch..and beer if you like), Cucina SA (amazing restaurant for lunch and dinner) and Tumbleweed (new little clothing shop I discovered after dining at Cucina one night...I just got some great boots there!); unique and quality items and some great bargains! This is a very charming and fun town and you need to check it out! Forget the malls and come here and shop! Dog and kid friendly! Love it!
