Sometimes it's hard for us humans to accept our pets aging and the costs associated. Please remember this isn't just a veterinarian office, this is an ANIMAL HOSPITAL, equipped with modern technologies to help care for our pets. Your pet's healthcare IS NOT free. Understanding your pets medical needs in the present and future is your job to learn. Blood tests are a regular $$ item when you have animals with certain medications. Stop bitching about the vet when it's more of a reflection on you and your financial position. Stop having a pet if you can't afford one. As they get older, they will require medical care.

Then I missed a second appointment for reasons that were my fault. You only get two strikes at FVH. Since then they require me to pay in advance like some kind of bum or they cancel the appointment. And how long will I be in the penalty box? Forever! Also, this "fear free" claim they boast about is none sense. The ask me to sedate my nervous dog before bringing him in. Boy, there's a breakthrough in care ; your pet won't experience fear if he's high as a kite. They even insisted on putting one of my dogs under for a nail trimming! He was sick and woozy all night long. And FVH's response? Take the dog to a pet groomer next time. Lame.

In fact, he was especially cranky today and had to wear a muzzle. But Dr. Johner handled the situation with incredible professionalism and calm. He gave Axel the space he needed, observed him from a safe distance, and calmly explained everything to us without escalating the tension. It worked! Axel settled down, and we got the answers we needed. Dr. Johner gave us a clear plan of action for some new concerns and took the time to explain everything thoroughly and patiently. Missy at the front desk is simply amazing, friendly, organized, and once she knows you, she'll probably recognize your voice when you call. It's those personal touches that really make this practice stand out. The vet techs are also wonderful, compassionate, knowledgeable, and clearly care about the animals they work with. He gets on the floor with her and talks to her and calls her down before doing his exam. It is amazing to watch every everytime. There is nothing at all I can say bad about this vet office and clinic. The staff is always helpful and on the ball. Dr. Johner is direct and to the point - which some people in this day and age cannot handle. But I like my professionals to be honest and thoughtful. I need to know what to do to handle my dog's issues with not euphemisms.
