I explained to them that my cat is very combative and he started literally crying when she scratched him.. i'm not surprised because he was just the worst veterinarian. Our Vet of choice is Dr.Lindsay Watson. my observation is that she and Dr. Stone are straightforward and awesome with their services. We also have been seen by Dr. Schrader and again her care has been excellent. beyond their reasoned advice and non pressure to procede is very much appreciated. Our Sherlock has severe skin alergies and our previous vet talked us in to $2,000 worth of services. When Dr. Lindsay saw Sherlock, her advice was for ongoing injections and eventually a daily pill which has totally stopped him from eating himself....... read more

Recently I had to put my dog down and the staff and Dr Stone could not have been been better. They got me in quickly and I'm pretty sure Dr Stone took part of his lunch hour to do the procedure. We recently had the good fortune to find Mountain Veterinary Hospital in Bellingham for non life threatening surgical care needed for our 9 month old Pomeranian. Dr. Edwin Stone and his staff were responsive, timely and most important the procedure he performed 3 weeks ago has had the outcome we had all hoped for. We were provided multiple follow-up care appointments for assessment and laser treatments all as a part of the overall surgical plan. Even though our primary concern is our puppy and his well being, we were thrilled that the cost was far less than we had anticipated. Dr. Stone has over 40 years experience and it shows. We had pre and post surgery consults so we could see the plan and then the outcome of the surgery he performed. He answered our questions, offered information regarding options, and took great care of our pup. And the staff there is stellar also. i use to love this veterinarian office! i did recommend them to anyone. not anymore!!!!!!!! i have brought my previous dashchunds( whom recently passed away) to them for years. i have spent literally thousands of dollars there....thousands!! i had to kennel my dogs for a few months due to a house flooding, surgeries, shots, getting teeth cleaned and pulled, emergencies, cremations of my two previous dogs. the list goes on... always paid at the time of visit and always made it to my appointments. i recently got two new puppies( dashsunds) and scheduled them to be fixed.. today i woke up 10 minutes before the appointment time.. called in route and told them i would be 10 minutes late. they canceled me. of course i understood and they rescheduled me for another day. i got a call an hour later asking if i could bring in my dogs in 40 minutes they could still do the neutering. i said yes ! then realized my son had feed them because we were cancelled for being 10 minutes late. i call and told them what happened and said i could still bring them in for flea meds and get shots for one to fill the time slot. they told me because i "didn't show for and appointment " i could no longer be a client!" what??? i didn't not show up of an appointment! i was going to be late 10 minutes and you canceled me! then realized my dogs ate when you called me back an hour later! totally disappointed in how unprofessional and no regards for a client who has always been on time ..paid accordingly and had been coming to them for over 15 years! do not go here of you want to feel like they actually care about you and your animals its just all about money. unbelievably sad way to leave a veterinarian office that i thought was great! beware they dont care about anything but money! and trust me they just lost the thousands more i would of spent on my dogs! read more

I have 3 dogs and a cat who have been patients here for a number of years. I love the friendly and caring staff! They always manage to squeeze us in if we have a problem that needs to be checked out. The doctors are knowledgeable, really personable and caring. A couple of days after a recent visit, Dr. Watson actually called to check up on my injured dog! Our 5-month old puppy tragically broke her femur. We went to a local emergency clinic in Snohomish County for diagnosis. After spending $525, they told us that she needed surgery by a board certified surgeon at a cost of $5,000 - $7,000, not affordable for us. As if to offer consolation, they said an alternative was to amputate the leg. I spent an exhausting and emotional day on the phone and emailing ER records to numerous vet hospitals, desperately searching for a general veterinarian who would fix her leg. Late in the day I called Mountain Veterinary Hospital. The lady who I talked to on the phone was so compassionate and helpful. She received and printed on the email records while we were on the phone, then put me on hold and went and talked to Dr. Stone. She came back and said they could see Molly the next morning, and the quoted cost was a fraction of what I had been told by every vet I spoke to was "the going rate". Dr. Stone was the only doctor to bring up a question I had... why would the puppy's bone break? He wanted to do blood work to make sure she was healthy. This was further evidence to me that Dr. Stone is a true professional in his field. We gladly made the 90-mile drive for her surgery, and will continue to make that drive for all of Molly's veterinary needs. Dr. Stone saved our puppy's leg, and ultimately may have saved her life. We were heartbroken to think that after such a short time with us we may lose her. How many dogs are euthanized or have limbs amputated because the elite "specialists" demand outrageous prices for their services? We need more veterinary doctors who are general practitioners like Dr. Stone, not high priced corporate specialists. Shame on the corporate culture and elite establishment for making veterinary care unaffordable and literally costing pets their life or limbs. Thank you Dr. Stone for being what veterinarians were always supposed to be, someone you could take your pet to for treatment and not have to take out a second mortgage or forfeit your retirement. I have been going to Dr. Stone and Dr. Schraeder with my dogs and cats for over 13 years. They are amazing doctors, caring, knowledgeable, and very reasonably priced! I have been to other vets closer to my house in Ferndale and NONE of them are as good or as reasonably priced as Mountain Vet! Dr. Schraeder specializes in holistic medicines and has done wonders for with acupuncture for my older dogs. GO THERE YOU WONT BE SORRY! read more

We made the difficult but right decision to have our beloved 19 year old Reggie Cat euthanized. The care and compassion shown by staff members and Dr. Stone eased this painful experience.
