Finding a good dog trainer out in the county is a challenge. After work, I didn't want to drive…read morehome to get the dog to just drive back into town for a training session. After interviewing, visiting, and taking classes a number of trainers, I finally found Dog Training 101 in Lynden. Krista Boden has been training dogs professionally since 2005. Her focus is on positive reinforcement with clear rules and boundaries, and dog-owner relationship. This means no choke collars, no E-collars, no harsh methods. YAY, finally!! Krista truly understands dog behavior, their wants, and their needs. And what's more, she understands owner behaviors, needs, and misconceptions too! Plus, she has her dog on site so is able to provide visual instruction on exactly what a skill should look like. Bonus is she has training treats if you run out! Besides obedience Krista offers agility training, boarding, and special events to further nurture and strengthen the pet-owner relationship. Dog Training 101 is close to home. Easily accessible. Reasonably priced. And very personable. Down sides: The facility is a little small, but with small class size it works perfectly with the dogs having enough personal space and direction from Krista to avoid issues.
