It's been 3 months and I can read notes and play with both hands. Keith is my teacher and he's extremely positive even when you know he wants to put plugs in his ears, lol. It's $40 each 30 min session. Follow a dream and check off playing the piano on your bucket. You will thank you!

It's tucked away a bit from the busy road, but you shouldn't have any problems. The parking lot was small. I visited on a Sunday afternoon so my car was the only car in the parking lot, but I was still thinking, "I better park in a way that I can easily backup or get out with my big SUV." The front door to the business was locked and you have to ring the doorbell. My first impression was, "it is wall-to-wall pianos. It was tight. There really was barely enough room to walk down the "aisle". Think of it as, if you're sitting at one of the pianos, people would have to jump over you like Super Marios Bros. style to get to the other side. They have more than one building and the other building wasn't as "tight". Our salesman, Larry, was quite knowledgeable. He asked us questions such as what we needed, price range, size, etc. He had us play on various pianos and explained to us the intricate details about each piano. Does Larry know pianos? Yes. Is Larry a salesman? Yes. We were in the market for a used piano, but they really didn't have used baby grands. Most of the used pianos were uprights. In the end, Larry helped us narrow our choices down to 3 pianos. Of course, the one that sounded the best was also the most expensive. In the end, we had to think about it. It is a big purchase and one that takes up a lot of physical space in your home so I urge everyone to sleep on this decision. What I appreciated about HPC is that they are knowledgeable about pianos. What I didn't appreciate was the fact they didn't tell me that the fancy piano I almost bought was not actually "German-made". It's made in China. Nothing wrong about Made in China, but if I'm spending this amount of money, I would like to know all the details. In the end, we decided to keep looking. Final verdict: I would not buy a piano from here.

This gentleman said, by company policy, he could not give me his best selling price over the phone... and that I had to go into the store to negotiate a price. Are you kidding me?! He then asked me when I would be stopping by the store. I asked if he had the model in stock. He said no. So, why the heck would I go into the store and waste my time when he didn't even have the model for me to play? The salesman proceeds to tell me how much was the retail price for that particular model I wanted. What's the point? And who cares about the retail price?! I want the price I'm going to consider buying, not the jacked-up price they set. lol These guys are worse than car salesmen. In new/used car sales, potential buyers can solicit quotes from various dealers, price shop/negotiate over the phone/email, and make informed decisions for the best deals. People with enough disposal income to purchase a brand new piano are not dummies off the street. lol You have to treat them with respect and honesty, and not this shady crap... oh I can't tell you what my price is BS. The good old way of rapport building and trust still go a long way in sales. Potential buyers: call around and compare, you don't have to buy from an authorized dealer in the same city/state you live. P.S. As a novice piano buyer, I highly recommend "The Piano Book" by Larry Fine. If you are considering a new piano, buy the corresponding supplement which has the manufacturer's list prices to enable you to negotiate. Lastly, voice your concerns/issues on the Piano World Forum (http://Pianoworld.com). ***NOTE/UPDATE*** We purchased a Yamaha U3, obviously NOT from Sherman Clay. Our family loves it!! I find it interesting how within a span of one month, 2 months after my post for this store and the other Clay Sherman store off 59, there suddenly pops up 3 great reviews of this store. Makes you wonder if those profiles were made up just to subtly rebut my comments. If so, nice touch! lol
