Basketball with my friends is always fun and chill. Good place to swim or walk. Better and cheaper than other gym's.

The place is super dirty. Not even clean when doors first open. Hair all over the bathrooms and mold in the showers.

So happy to be here for a couple of months. First, they are very accommodating to your needs. Since I am a short-timer, my payments and sign-on is different than most. Not a problem at all. Jennifer is so nice and welcoming. I have actually had nothing but great experiences will all the trainers. I wish I had more time here! I have found all levels and abilities in the classes. Makes it better for people like me who are just getting into it or back at it. The box area itself is great. The layout is awesome and plenty of room. Love the music played and WODs have been kicking my arse (LOVE!). Great location too. Just minutes away from the YMCA and centrally located in Kenosha. Great for a drop-in or sign up and try it for four months! You get a week to try it out and see if you like it before you commit fully. I highly recommend you do this. Another tip, bring gloves and a belt. You never know when you will need them. There are also kids classes which look really cool. Check the website for more information or call.

Oh, and good equipment and facilities. CrossFit Kenosha has all of these in abundance. On top of that, the members are friendly and motivating, the music usually pretty good (as far as CrossFit music goes), schedules very accessible, and the rates are very reasonable. I also think the lighting is very good. Some gyms have those awful fluorescent lights which give me a headache. But this gym has something else, which -- no joke -- makes everyone look more attractive and yet does not contribute to my migraines. Too good to be true? Well, there are things they could work on. I can't think of more than one right now. Which is that they don't have a place to refill your water bottle, aside from a bathroom sink. But if that's the worst thing about this place... For some perspective, I've been doing Xrossfit since 2013 and have worked out all over the country.

I…read morereally enjoyed their motivational atmosphere, good music selections, group support with high fives, and awesome instructors to help with either modifications or make sure I was doing the movements correctly. I like how the exercises can be personalized to one's own fitness and intensity levels and we can usually go at our own pace while going through different stations. We sometimes would get paired with someone - I guess so if we had a questions, we could ask them? Sometimes I would lose my partner if my pace was too slow or if I went to another area looking for the right weight to lift for the given exercise, but other than that, everything was fine. The bathrooms were clean, cubbies were available to store our jackets and personal belongings (no locks because no one steals here - I'm not entirely used to this since I am from the hood but I suppose with the membership fees, people have higher income brackets so no one is going to steal petty things. Overall, this gym has a great formula - good app for tracking workouts, help desk with support staff, child care area, motivational walk of fitness testimonials, and positive quotes on the walls of the gym. It is a great gym although the price is on the higher end for me. I will advise gym attendees to be careful with proper form and using the best dumbbell weight for each exercise to avoid injury. My month has ended and I will consider joining this gym in the future. Finally, I always look at the fitness level of the instructor for different programs and classes and the fitness levels amor these instructors are great so I definitely looked to them for inspiration and workout directions.

I had seen some of my friends posting videos of their workouts on their Instagram stories, so I had an idea of what to expect, and it encouraged me to finally try one out. (They do come and take videos during each workout to post online, so if this is something you would not be okay with...don't go.) There are people of all ages and fitness levels, but mostly women and they do have child watch services during your work out. I was also lucky to come during a cheap first month promotion, so I took advantage of that before signing up for an actual membership. The instructors are well trained and they come around and try to help correct technique as much as possible, but the class sizes are fairly large and the workouts are pretty fast paced, so it may not be a great gym for true beginners who do not have an idea of what proper form should be on a variety of exercises. It is an encouraging atmosphere, almost too many high fives if you ask me, but I take the good with the bad. I do enjoy the music, programming, variety of workouts, equipment available, and overall welcoming and motivational vibes.

PF is a BEAUTIFUL and clean space, that is well designed, and has a good amount of equipment available. The locker rooms and showers are clean and quite nice, as are the tanning rooms and hydromassage areas. The front desk staff is professional and helpful - some seem really overwhelmed at times with all the things they have to do. I hope they get some self-check-in kiosks to scan cards on your own and make things move smoother and fasters - maybe for the tanning booths, total body and hydromassage too. The personal trainer, Marcella is AWESOME! She is very helpful and knowledgeable. She helped me immensely in one session! A problem I ran into is there are a very limited amount of orientation classes and Design Your Own classes offered in (early) evening hours and all seem to be in the daytime during standard work hours. Not being a lunkhead and holding a 9-5 job, I am unable to attend during the time so I had to wait almost a week to get the information I needed to get rolling. I voiced my unhappiness with the manager Brandon, who informed me it is a corporate franchise rule and it is they who manage the class schedule. I hope he conveys how unhelpful that is for working folks and they can make it easier for newbies and unfit folks to return to a gym to offer more orientation and design your town classes, especially in evenings and weekends and not just during the day, during the week. I mean heck, do they really want old people like me who haven't been in a gym since Ronald Reagan was president wandering around their gym, not knowing what to do and end up getting hurt? If they fix, I bet that place will totally be a five-star place! Oh, one last thing. The franchise owner should consider buying the rest of the old Sears space and adding a pool and sauna rooms. You can make it a full-service gym.

Guys do help each other, but the "smoothie" bar only really caters to the lifters and have too much sugar and not enough balance for the average Joe. If you are a girl though, and not a lifter, be prepared to not be treated as nicely. I got leered at several times and one guy hit on me and was angry when I showed him my ring and told him I was just there to work out. After that, every time I'd encounter him, he'd state loudly that it wasn't okay to call women "sweetie" and hit on them anymore. Here's a clue buddy, we go to the gym to work out too and want to do so in a nice atmosphere free of creeps. Most of the guys aren't like that but there are a few guys who will just sit and stare at the pretty girls while they work out. The locker rooms are really tiny, and in poor shape. One of the girls showers barely worked at all, and the other you had to really play with the faucet to keep it from shearing off your skin when you showered. There was no sign in the women's locker room stating that if you left your stuff in a locker (with a lock on it) they would cut the lock off and donate your things to charity. I had an emergency where I had to leave it for a few days and they took a brand new backpack, new shoes, a weight belt and cuffs, some headphones and my workout clothes and donated them to charity. My business card was in the front ID holder but no one called they just gave away about $120 in gear with no real apology except from the really nice girl at the front desk. There is a sign now, but you have to respect your paying customers and the owner really doesn't. He only respects the lifter. The lifting equipment is in fair shape, but the cardio equipment is sparse and run down. A lot of the tethers and bolts are rusty and frayed and the handles of some of the stuff is broken down a bit. One of the treadmills (which there are only 6) was out for more than a week and a lot of the stuff is years and years old despite them taking a hefty fee every year. So if you are a lifter, and are really into body building, I'm sure this is a good place to go to get advice, help and good bro time. But if you are a girl, you may have better luck in a more female friendly gym. And never ever leave anything in a locker, locked or not...
