I went online yesterday and made the appointment for 8 AM this morning. Then someone called back…read moreand asked me some questions and told me to be there a half an hour early so I can fill out the paperwork. I got there at 7:30 my appointment was at eight and they did not open until eight. Finally got in had to fill out all the paperwork by then it was almost 830. Finally got taken back. I went in for a cleaning and I have never been there before. They took like 50 x-rays. After all the x-rays were done, they took me into a room and a lady came in who told me that she was gonna clean my teeth after she got done looking in my mouth and telling the other person a bunch of numbers. She said that I needed to have the special prescription toothpaste that cost $21 and she would put it in my chart and that I needed to have a cancer screening and she would put that in my chart as well. Then dentist came in had a very quick look in my mouth said I look good except Have three caps in my mouth that I need to do Crowns on because they will break and she put that in my chart. Mind you I've had these caps for 20+ years and I haven't had any issues with them. Then the cleaning lady came back told me that I was gonna go see this other lady and they would tell me exactly what was going on. The other lady came and took me to her office. I am guessing that she was the finance side. She proceeded to tell me everything that they were going to do to me. I was getting a tube of toothpaste, hey cancer screening and three caps. My insurance would cover this much and I had to pay the rest. I told her I didn't need anything except the cleaning and she took me down the hall to sit in a waiting room for my cleaning. Then I got called in for the cleaning. The lady was nice enough. Although I'm sure the cleaning only took five minutes max. And when she was done she put the stuff on my teeth Saying that it was fluoride that would stay on there and be fine I wouldn't have to wait to eat or drink all all. Thing is my teeth felt dirty or whenever I left and I did before I went in. It was all just the weirdest thing because I have always had my teeth cleaned every six months and they have always cleaned my teeth before the Dentist looked at them. And the dentist usually talks to the patient and let them know exactly what's going on and tells them if they have some issues and what you can do about it and what your options are and whether or not it's covered by insurance. This was more of a Wham! Bam! Thank you ma'am scenario. This all just felt so fake and monetary to me. Not like they really cared about the patient at all. I will likely go back for the second cleaning in six months But forgo the fluoride stuff at the end. The next year I'll probably go somewhere else.

They did not have an appt until the end of the month (today is May 7) and surgery not available until June. Surgery? I just need a tooth pulled. I asked what am I supposed to do about the pain. She said "I don't know. Call Dixieland Dental" who does not accept insurance and it's cash only. I called Foundation Dental and have an appt tomorrow. Dothan Dental...you just lost a patient!

I've tried local family dentists and never have had one on one service like this place. My daughter goes there as an adolescent and even my 5 year old grandson sees them. **on a side note** "I've too read the reviews of people saying that they had enormous payments due etc. This can be true for any doctor, surgeon, hospital or dentist based on your insurance coverage. One person may have to pay 100 for a filling and another 900. This also can be true for the extent of service needed. So I wouldn't say that these reviews are entirely accurate. I work in the medical field at a hospital and I know that what one person says always will differ from another based on just how much they had to pay out of pocket. This does not effect the service, the customer service, the employees that work at the company being reviewed nor any other professional service. Only thing it shows is not how well the service as given but how cheap they thought the service should have been." He and his staff went above and beyond by recommending personal friends in another state for her to continue care should she have more issues.
